Curry’s AOS Painting Log

Hey everyone,

i’ve finally been back to painting after a long hiatus. This purpose of this log is to keep me motivated to churn through the mountain of grey plastic I have accumulated (and seem to keep accumulating!)

i will be bouncing between projects but my main goal is to finish a force of dark aelves.  I’m also interested in AOS28 so you will see some more mature content as well.

to start with here is a unit of dark shards I have been working on.  BF9F4CB4-9A1A-4771-82E8-F24BDFEB16A4.jpeg.fa0543f5de1c88a56bb8dba2b21cc625.jpeg

I have the banner bearer painted now but haven’t snapped a photo. In the next update i’ll take the shot of the completed unit and a sorceress that should be done soon.

cheers,

CS

Thanks for the encouragement guys!

i haven’t had a chance to get the completed unit together for a photo but I did manage to work on an AoS 28 test piece:

Im really fascinated by realistic painting styles and have been trying to emulate the styles from the AoS 28 crowd and painter studios like third eye nuke. I’m happy with the model above but I doubt i’ll go any further with it.

cheers,

CS

Thanks for the kind words and likes!

As I want this log to track my AOS projects, I have decided to post some of my older work. Those of you who are migrants from Dakka may recognise these.

Note: my camera seems to do funny things when I take photos, and with my meagre skills in photo correction this is as close as I could get to natural lighting.3CBEAF2F-72A4-4EC7-85F2-3C2239E4863E.jpeg.d7f9f5a5d9c8af90805341c886969a1f.jpeg77D3DCAB-660E-4272-B887-384727B0973B.jpeg.0ac95966bfdaad8a01ed5cde8a6827cc.jpeg5C142EEA-EA7C-4123-83C2-E531CC8621CC.jpeg.7079d7094b32a2ddef5b5fd92d14c355.jpeg6E1EC4E1-D214-4804-88D2-FA056AC8592B.jpeg.eb1316bb8a35f3662a23d0527974a288.jpeg

These models were painted earlier in the year.  I still love the hot colours on the mist Weaver and am looking for more excuses to use them!

Comments are welcome.

cheers,

CA

Hey All,

Thank you for the kind comments thus far!

I have been busy working on some AOS28 items.  This is my first time working with conversions and green stuff and my first real attempt at a more realistic paint style. I am pleased to present my entry into the Ex Profundis Monster challenge, The Morghast Crypt-Knight.

The Morghast Crypt-Knight

The crypt knights of Nagash serve as his hounds, hunting out those who have raised their master’s ire. Though their prey can take various forms, the Crypt Knights were initially created by the undying king to enforce loyalty amongst his Vampiric Minions.  These creatures are instinctively drawn to dark magic and are often found in the sinister places, slumbering until their master calls on them.

As always comments are greatly appreciated!

@Kronos & @Kisufisu

I was wondering if there were any dark souls fans here!  The reason it reminds you of the game is because the core model is from the board game that steamforged produced.  I also have the dancer model which may undergo a warhammer-fication at some point!  I'm building a few other models that will follow this same paint style and will hopefully evoke the dark souls feel.

Thanks all for the likes and kind words!
