  1. Might be a good idea to try to find some crab claw-like bits for the prometheans. maybe from a tyranid sprue or something? I still have to find those myself. I'm also planning to make my own chaos mammoth, using the big spider from goblins and sticking a toy pirate ship on it's back. need to find big crab claws for that guy too.
  2. I have a nautical themed nurgle army and got a lot of inspiration from the vampire coast, thought I'd post my plague ogors as I made them with the animated hulks in mind. Got 3 leadbelchers for 5€, was a good deal and super fun to convert!
  3. I would weather it down. I don't know if it would war against the rest of the groups paint scheme, but I would like to see some bluish patina, like way watered down temple guard blue etc. I think it would the model really pop.
  4. Ah man, I hate these. Because they are so awesome that now I want a goblin army. Why would you do this to me? :(((
  5. Very cool stuff, especially the nautical nurgle dudes. I've been working on a nautical nurgle mortals army for a few months now myself, and I gotta say it is completely thanks to you and that crab-dude!
  6. Damn that was fast! I love the the balance of the colors, especially the purple hits the eye just perfectly!
  7. oooooh can't wait to see these things painted!
  8. I have a mind of starting a nautical themed nurgle mortals warband for skirmish, could you tell me what you used for the coral/seaweed hanging from the mortarchs back? caribou moss or something similar?
  9. Slowly working on my "prototype stormfiends", still a ton of stuff to add to them. Kind of struggling with possible leg plating. They will be the gautfyre team, so they needed flames, lots of 'em. Ignore the decade old paints etc Then a not-so-wip plague priest that still needs some water effects added. Funnily my only pestilens dude. The horns were added by the guy who sold it to me, but I liked them and so I kept them on.
  10. Dang, I love these! Amazing work!
  11. Slowly waking up from my winter nap, I've been trying to get some color on my scratch-built skryre army standard. Still gotta redo some details, add water effects, and light effects. oh and random glowing runes for the flag. Aaand probably something else once I notice what's missing.
  12. Pop pop-- popsicle? Like a meaty one? Edit just so no one thinks I'm making a ******-joke here:
  13. Almost done with my first stormfiends, damn there's a lot of work in these models: Still got 2 work phases left: brightening the greens and adding a glow/light effect around them, and two layers of 'ardcoat on the water. I spent a long time trying to come up with a color scheme for these guys, mostly for the bigger armor plating on them, but then realized that they would probably pop out too much from the rest of the army if I started using some new color at this point. I also first thought of making the plating a kind of glowy warpstone green with malachite-y texture, but then these guys would have been way too green, and it would kind of eat up the green light effects. Might also make the ratling gun barrels glow green, but I will first have to see how much green there will be from the runes and such(once I get them painted in). Also I just wrote "green" so many times, Ruby Rhod himself thinks I overdid it.
  14. Slowly painting the packmaster I did for the "inaugural kitbash competition": Just got the first ink layer in, next up is highlighting, then to make some glowing warpstone effects.
  15. The Arch Warlock just got the first ink layer, it is slowly progressing Next up is teal/orange inks for rust, then highlights, then the greens and light effects, then the basing, and finally some cotton wool smoke effects. So, still a ton of work ahead. I did manage to paint 10 giant rats and have also been converting random models in between this and that last pic, so I haven't just fully procrastinated
  16. Slowly starting to paint my scratch built arch warlock: Aaand my second warlock, this time just the stock model with a flame attached:
  17. Still have a few skryre weapon teams to finish until I start the real work on my skryre army: That would be 4 arch warlocks/engineers, 3 basic stormfiends, 3 old rat ogres(well one is boneripper but anyway) that I'm gonna convert into lesser "prototype-stormfiends", and 3 warp lightning cannons, 2 of which are entirely scratch-built. The heroes and the real stormfiends are good to go for basing and priming(not gonna convert the fiends since I love the original models), but the cannons and "lesser-fiends" are just stuck together with blu tack, mostly to test their size compared to real stormfiends. And the cannons ofc require a ton more work, I mostly just built the skeletons out of my bitzbox. In addition to these, I have a ton of work ahead in the army, since I'm also gonna try and build a jezzail, 4 poisoned wind mortars, 5 night runners, and 5 acolytes out of my random leftover clanrats/bitz. Aaaaand after those I have a doomwheel, some giant rats/packmasters and a scratch-built "skryre-y" screaming bell ahead. AND AND AND if those weren't already enough, I also plan to convert my old keeper of secrets into a "slave-demon" for a counts as verminlord, and a totally scratch built skaven gyrocopter for a counts as doomwheel.
