Goodapollo4
Oi! I thought I would follow everyone else’s example and start my own painting thread, highlighting (pun intended) some of the things I have been working on. Short background, I’ve been seriously painting minis for almost two years, dabbled in 40k stuff when I was a kid, few years ago I painted some Orks, but this period is my first time actually trying to learn how to paint. The hobby aspect of AOS is I think the thing that really motivates me, I’m not the best player but I love to paint and think up conversions, so basically I see myself as a hobby hero, which absolutely informs how I create armies and play. Right now my project is...IRONJAWZ! I picked up the Ironjawz originally when they first dropped, I was new to AOS and I’ve always loved Orks in 40k, so this was a no brainer. I painted them up, played one game, and then moved on to Skaven (love those little ******). I’ve came back around to the Ironjawz and stripped my old models, bought some new ones, and am currently trying to get ready for a local tournament here in Alberta. I’d like to take the Ironjawz but I have to do a LOT of painting in not that much time, so we will see. First batch of Ardboyz here, I knew I wanted a red colour scheme, but clearly this is A LOT of red. Next batch is coming up soon, should be a bit more colour variation. Goodapollo4
Update #2 Coming in Hot So, did the Ardboys, then had some fun and knocked out a unit of 5 brutes. Already here I feel like I put more time in to each model (because they are so awesome) and I was starting to figure out what my overall colour scheme would be. I started using a little bit of blue as a contrasting colour as I felt the warm colours of everything else could get a little overwhelming. Goodapollo4
Update #3 After the brutes, it was time for a Warchanta!! I'm still ****** at taking photos, but here is where I ACTUALLY figured out my colour scheme. I decided to use the blue armor plates (which you totally cant see in this picture) as a contrasting element that was relevant to the model. On the warchanta, his bracers/arm plates are blue because that's where he needs the most power. I wanted the blue armor to highlight the important part of the model relative to its position in the army.
Goodapollo4
Update #4 More Brutes and better photos! Now you can see what I mean. Blue Shoulder plate on the brute boss, shows his status, cools the model down a bit, makes em look ded killy. Also basing!
Goodapollo4
Update #5 - One last one den Last update for now, I managed to get my Megaboss finished. I this this is about one of the best models I've painted so far...ever. I felt really confident in the colour scheme, the highlighting, and the overall composition that I was going for. The basing is pretty standard, which is fine because this was my old army that was already glued to bases, and I wanted to keep it pretty simple. Working on some pigs now, should get them done by the end of the week. Oh! I almost forgot, for our clubs campaign we had a hobby challenge to build/paint/buy/whatever a building...so I made this. I call it...DA MOUF OF GORK Really this is the first piece of terrain I've made from scratch, and I think it came out not half bad!

DynamicCalories
I think you're already "Gud" and there is no need for the "Git" part of the title. Some seriously sharp Orruks there.
