    Dawnbringer is not faction, though.

Of course, and I know Dawnbringer Crusades are "events". I meant "DawnbringerS", as in, the human Crusaders from the Cities of Sigmar, which we know are getting a facelift. My point are they could be seen as an updated, AOSified faction inside of the whole Cities of Sigmar range(s), just like the Kruleboyzs were a new, AOSified faction inside the whole Orruk Warclans battletome.

(And indeed, CoS could have rules for garrison-like AND crusading armies).)

But I still hope the next brand "new" or at least imaginatively AOSified faction from the Old World arriving in AOS to be the Chaos Duardins. If we get both them and new Azyrite Humans in 2023, it'd be perfect.

Yeah, given all the fluff and references from Warcry and AOS3 publications, I'm quite sure the next brand-new faction is Chaos Duardin : as pointed out it would be a "brand-new" (aka reimagined) Chaos faction (so, first time), and due to the two-year lead on new factions, COVID could have pushed them in spring 2023.

That or Dawnbringer, also next year.

@KingBrodd not a single Necromunda thing in there. 😝

I to get them mixed up as they have two scifi skirmish games.

I think our lord KB is referring to the Necromunda Monday Reveal occurring tomorrow as per the article...

Indeed does Necromunda get many reveals on Mondays ;)

  4. Nice to have confirmation about Nova. Predictions ahead :

    - 40k : something (better pictures, big boxed set, centerpiece) for either League Of Votann, World Eaters, Imperial Guards.

    - HH : more resin kits turned into nice plastic kits.

    - AOS : LRL, DOT battletomes (if they aren't shown sooner), HOPEFULLY the two Destructions ones (new Mega-Gargant variant and Spider Riders would be perfect), maybe a supplement akin to Season of War : Thondia ? I would love something about Cities Of Sigmar but I won't get my hopes up on this front...

    - WHU : Khornate dudes and, with any luck, more than a simple teaser (model less) of the new Season. As @Nezzhil said, the logo changed again, so it's more than likely we'll get at least a video trailer of some sort (gold trim and stone-like background : CHAMON ?).

Strangely, I'm more interested in Warhammer Underworlds than anything else in this preview, even AOS. I guess because, after providing nice alternative sculpts (like Female Liberator) and missing Heroes (like Nurgle Sorcerer), it is now a true laboratory for new ideas and world building (just like WARCRY, whose absence I deeply regret).

I really don't care in what form we get new Seraphon, as long as we get new Seraphon. I'm pretty sure even if they do "Feral" Seraphon they'll make them usable as or with existing warbands/AoS proper.

Yeah, Seraphon in Warcry will have an AOS warscrolls anyway (as per today's article). They could be :

    • Kroak's agents (from the Heart of Ghur Core book lore) Order Warband
    • Feral Seraphon Order Warband
    • Fera Seraphon beasts / thralls (on top of two other warbands)

Hadn't noticed that. Where is that shown? I must be missing it.

Thats pretty cool if feral seraphon are this editions furies and kill chickens though.

Yeah ! You mean were are the current rules for Feral Seraphon ? It's in the multiplayer Campaign Arc, near the end of the new Core Book.

  6. Very very nice news.

    • Today's Warscrolls are great : Rotmire Creed for my Maggotkin are very interesting with ranged fire power for Diseased Points (and I too guess the German version of the Chaos Legionnary warscroll is the correct one).
    • I was kind of sad not to get a Core Rules abstract in the Heart of Ghur set, but we now know that GW will release a "Core Rule Lite" pdf in the near future (so I'm quite reassured : time to teach a few friends the new edition !).
    • The Warcry Roadmap has me all excited and motivated to finish what I have for the game. Mid-November is my new deadline to finish the Gnarlwood scenery + Rotmire Creed, just in time for the new set.
    • I won't try to guess the next 6 Warbands, but I'm so happy for the Order, Death and Sons Of Behemat Mawtribes DESTRUCTION players out there ! Especially @KingBrodd :P And we also may get more in-between releases like the Chaos Legionnaries and the Centaurian Marshalls...

A word of caution though ; the Skink in the video could be an Order Thrall / Feral Beast (they are in the new Core Rules, like the Furies etc. from 1st edition...). But I hope he's from a (Feral) Seraphon Warband proper !

  7. Well, WHAT A WEEK-END !

    • First of all, tried Warcry 2nd edition, it's GREAT. The few tweaks in the core rules, the campaign system, and the Heart of Ghur lore especially. Looking forward to the Compendium (in paperback finally ?!) and those sick Be'lakor fellas !
    • The BL characters are very good. The Warhammer + characters are even better ; those Familiars* 😍
    • Very happy on the other AOS preorders. Might get the Megadroth bones and the Aqualith scenery (for my Nurgle Deamons to corrupt, of course). When can we expect the LRL and Tzeentch Battletomes do you guys think ?

    * BUT MAN I'M SO SAD THAT LOVELY PIPE GUY ISN'T A NURGLE-RELATED RELEASE - I WANT A PLASTIC EPIDEMIUS SO MUCH

edit: the expansions image does make it sound like new warbands could be paired with terrain, instead of a bunch of dual boxes?

Like the next kill team arc in the space hulk, with different parts of the Gallowdark added in every new box, yes.

Looking forward for more Seraphon ruins, or, better, a board to play inside the ruined Temple-Ship !!!

Holy **** this is amazing!  AoS Black library is really getting it's act together this year. Also some fantastic art work. Is this a sign of things to come?R8j79N05uW6FzTFW.png.80e3123340b3f96649c0104243670e23.png

That's an Empire Armybook artwork from 8th edition ...

The book is from the Old World (it's a reedition).

still hoping that the rumors about a female khorne priest in the warband is true though..

Well, in the WarCom article they talk about a male Priest ... But indeed.

I wonder if we'll get four Gorechosen (like in that "old" board game), or a smith, a priest and a big monster.

Btw, between the second edition of Warcry and the last sub-season of Underworld, we are flooded with inspired (ha), glorious looking models.

  11. Today there have been "leaks" about the CHAOS DAEMONS CODEX on DakkaDakka (one of last to come for 9th Edition). Do we think Daemons will get a sizable release model wise, or just one guy ?

I remember the Big leak saying Daemons would get stuff, but not what exactly. That would point to a sizable release...

But if it's "just" a 1-Kit update, then it's probably not the new Daemon Prince (as it was marketed as coming with the StD Battletome).

We still have that rumor engine looking like a Nurgling hand on a bone pipe. And who is one of the oldest Character with a non-updated resin kit in the Daemons range ? The Nurgle Palanquin / Epidemius combo, of course ... People thinking of other options ? (Tzeentch Herald on disc comes to mind...) :P

    Brutes?

    2021-08-24.jpg

I think it could mean SLAUGHTERBRUTE I mean Khorgorath, not Ruinstorm Daemon Brute.

Because SB are an old Khorne unit, and its "Maw horns" fit the small artwork found in the Harrowdeep / Nethermaze booklet.

    ---

I'm mightily excited for the Skirmish Summer Preview ! I must say Warcry, and to a smaller extent Kill Team, is what keeps me in touch with GW and the wider community, as I have less Hobby time right now (work, etc. - I still have my beloved AOS Daemons of Nurgle army, of course, which is really well served by the "new" MoN Battletome). :D

I also predict full reveal of the Warcry Second edition Boxed set (Horns of Hashut vs Nurgle swamp guys) - the scenery will be glorious I'm sure (Maybe the weird plants sketches found in Season of War : Thondia are hints of what's to come ?).

And I hope we see the full set for KT too, as I'd be interested in starting its second edition with an Inquisition/Ministorum warband to replace my old Death Guard and Gellerpox infected (otherwise I'll go with Traitor guards or Custodes I guess...).

Finally I really wish the WHU Witch Hunters warband is populous..., I'd be sad with "just" two guys and a dog (even if Warhammer doggo are nice) :P

  13. I guess the Centaurion Marshal, the Ogroid Theridons and the Horns of Hashut are for Warcry ? And the Chaos Legionnaires too, or they are the Varanguard On Foot from the leaked picture ? Or the ones on the picture are the new Chosen on foot (most portably, in fact).

So we could get redesigned units for Multipart Warriors, Chosen, Lord On Daemonic Mount, and DAEMON PRINCE, plus a new Named Hero (Eternus, Blade of the First Prince), and a bunch of Warcy stuff.

    H U G E if true :P

  14. Best case scenario (optimistic but also kinda realistic-not-asking-too-much-please ?) :

    - Battletomes roadmap : Fyreslayer, Idoneth Deepkin, Nighthaunt + 1 new model (the rumor engine / New year video "Boat" ? or a Monster type ?).

    - Video teaser : Sylvaneth vs Skaven Eshin boxed set

    5 hours ago, Chikout said:

Almost certainly it will be idk, Fyreslayers and perhaps Nighthaunt. The dream would be Malerion's faction and a new Broken Realms style campaign book.

We are a bit early in the edition for something like BR I guess... But a stand alone expansion like Wrath of the Everchosen / Forbidden power could be very nice, alongside the aforementioned Battletome roadmap ;)

Hoping to see a cool Cursed City expansion, a faction beyond FS and Deepkin getting an update [probably Nighthaunt].

Would love to see new dwarfs/KO.

Wild card - hints of Squats coming later in the year ...😇

As much as I would love to see CC expansions, Warcry or Underworld, Warhammer Quest isn't on the Preview list, only AOS for the "fantasy" side of things, so... 😛

  15. Regarding game systems, I guess 2022 will get two Skaven Eshin releases, then.

Because the WHU Harrowdeep "schedule leak" stated Eshin, and our rumor prophet said in here, regarding AOS and new Skaven models, to expected "something shadowy", IIRC.

That's two different leakers and subject matters, so hopefully they are not originating from the same release (only AOS or only WHU) !

  16. Let the Hype rise up ! I'm sure the first half of 2022 will have its share of Battletomes releases (at least Nighthaunt, given the rumor engines and the "age" of the existing tome, and probably Fyreslayers and Idoneth following Fury of the Deep, so that still make 3).

What I am the most excited about is the new season of Warhammer Underworld (Human Priests / Witch Hunters ; Shadow Aelves ; Shadow Skaven, Frankenstein-esque Necromancers and Zombies according to the reliable leak from this very thread) annnnd Cursed city expansions :P Bring It On !

Oh and the potential Warcry 2nd Edition. I remember cleary a 4chan leak that was FOR ONCE accurate ; they told us about Darkoath vs Spider Cultists (not Spiderfangs) in Red Harvest and about a potential new edition of Warcry - Red Harvest being the Pariah Nexus boxed set of Kill Team before its reboot...

update, the 40k leaks have reached talking chaos space marines and the next space marines codex

maybe someone just needs to hop into whatever chatgroup the leaks are coming from to interject some aos questions, it's the only solution

Do you have a link please ? I checked DakkaDakka but didn't see any thread about 40k Chaos.

Also asking because the initial rumor (which was proven true up to now) mentioned new Chaos Daemons, i.e. potential new models for AOS too :D :')

Who is the artist? That is a truly wonderful piece. I hope that this artist works on the next Duardin book and what is that strange quadruped in the bottom left? Also more emphasis on Ghur!

I genuinely hope we can get this without the text it would make a great background for the computer.

    This artwork is a combination.

It's the End Times artwork for Joseph Bugman (because the pub inside Warhammer World I guess), probably by Kevin Chin, and the beasties are by Nuala Kindrade (the map maker).

I would also add the bone flute one since it been confirm it is not Nurgle.

Hello, please report to the nearest Gnarlmaw to receive a ... Christmas Gift :^)

    2020-05-12.jpg.001aeb8676186b4a0cf2c5abfc21cc93.jpg

Joke aside, it has never been confirmed it wasn't Nurgle ? The three fingers still point to Nurgling, the paint strokes apparently imply a smaller size than a Ghoul hand (fitting a Nurgling), and the "bone flute" thingy is already present on another Nurgle miniature, the Plaguebearer musician.

Also, a new Nurgle Daemon model can either come in a Boxed Set like Wrath and Rapture (Khorne vs Slaanesh first time, so Tzeentch vs Nurgle this time ?) or with the new Daemon Codex for 40k 9th. Epidemius and Herald On Palanquin - which contains lots of Nurgling - being one of the few Nurgle Daemon kit that need a plastic resculpt. (Yes, I may be a little too parochial here).
