  1. Hm, I prefer to believe @Chikout from a few pages back quoting @Thomas Lyons than cChan, but even if Tzeentch is March instead of, say, late February the pace of releases is astounding. You shouldn't say that, more like "I'm gonna read the book carefully at the store before I buy it"... 100% this. The great reorganization of Forge World may led to this too. Or maybe 99%, as I think GW will before the end of the years tease us with some 2020 previews (probably Light Aelves, but I hope new Battletomes-only release and the Siege Apocalypse supplement too).
  2. Yeah @Carnelian... The "Varanspire" terrain is - alas - probably just that (cf. the "Bell tower tag") : From this recap : https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/09/30/warcry-the-future-of-the-eightpoints/
  3. There is a rumored Siege supplement for next year said to be "like Apocalypse but for AOS" - so the only difference would be less big kits / super heavy equivalents, and more BIG SCENERY (OBR Bone fortress comes to mind). And of course Warmaster alike War of the Ring / A Song of Ice and Fire square movement trays with round slots
  4. Good to know ! If it's true than we look at StD, then KO-Seraphon-Tzeentch and, according to our own source, Light Aelves before June. That would continues the pretty sick run we got in 2019 into 2020 ! Speaking of pretty sick : - GW sells square bases again. Why not, nothing special. - It has something to do with Warhammer Legends. - GW relaunch Warhammer Fantasy with a consolidated rules set like the last edition of Age Of Darkness for Horus Heresy (hmmm. A bit "out of nowhere, there would be more teasing and hypes). - GW announce "square bases" movement trays for the hypothetical Siege supplement ala LOTR "War of the Ring", as expected above.
  5. That soon ? I thought it would still be like 6 months from now... Maybe a reveal / teaser around Christmas with the new year open day !!
  6. You mean, their AOS version ? Or you are referencing William King's return ?
  7. Well IMO the General's "Handbook" follow the General's Compendium concept (they just changed the name slightly) by being a toolbox, it's just a bit less "free style" than before (but as lots of thing between GW, it's still great). Yes. In Forbidden Power and in the Hammer-God short story on WarCom it was more or less clearly said that Gordrakk aimed at Sigmar, but in the Orruk Warclans battletome it is confirmed Gordrakk is striking at Excelsis (which is in Ghur, so close to him). But Nagash will deal with Archaon via Katakros as the latter is currently invading the Eightpoints (!!) Yes and GW sometimes use this technique : they print a "draft" version of rules in a compendium and latter release a full-on supplement based on their first ideas but expended. I really can see that for this "Siege supplement". TBH I heard a rumor a future supplement could be in the work for Siege rules AND huge battles also (so a bit like Apocalypse for 40k).....
  8. SO : - Gordrakk got a big godbeast skull mounted on a Siege Engine, heading right to the Free City of Excelsis (and then the gates of Azyr), which have lots of fortifications and Stormkeeps.... - The Ossiarch are building Bone Fortresses everywhere (mostly in Shyish and Ghur, for the moment, but even Ghyran, according to the OBR and CoS Battletomes).... - Katakros take Gothizzar and invade the Eightpoints, the most heavily fortified location in all the Mortal Realms .... "SIEGE-CENTERED" SUPPLEMENT WHEN GW ?!?!?!?!
  9. It is incredible. The best Chaos release since the start of this holy game in 2015. With the Warcry range, the existing Std and Everchosen ones, it's gonna be perfect. Interesting to see they didn't updated the Chaos Maraudeurs because, well, the Bloodreavers, the Kairic Acolytes, the Darkoath, and all the Warcry barbarians are enough, right ?
  10. A TRUSTY DAKKA POSTER CONFIRMS NEW WARRIORS AND A MOUNTED LORD !!!! @Whitefang you were right !
  11. No, because as @Charleston says (and the video shows), those monsters are for Warcry, and the teaser from the official AOS FB page has the AOS game logo, so there clearly is a Slaves to Darkness reveal coming.
  12. More info from Bob about the Warcry monsters : https://war-of-sigmar.herokuapp.com/bloggings/4266
  13. Okay, such a tease really should mean we'll get new models and not just the minimal update of Tome+Spells right ?! RIGHT ?!
  14. @Tropical Ghost General With the book now confirmed (well just waiting Blood & Glory to be 101% sure), it still not that big of a surprise. As many said, it was obvious StD would get a tome : they are Archaon own army, they have a huge range, their own allegiance abilities in the GHB since 2016, got previewd ruelwise as one army in AOS2 and on the Website, got a Heroes in Silver Tower, a Harbinger in Malign Portents and a dedicated Warhammer Underworlds warband. Then we got Warcry with a tons of new Chaos Monsters and Barbarians, who all got the StD keywords. But what some people where / are really excepting for a new StD release - even not as big as the Grot, Nighthaunts or SCE ones - is new Maraudeurs and new Chaos Warriors. Maybe 1-2 new Heroes and a big monster like a Aossified Chaos mammoth. The rest of the range being still pretty good. Because we got teased with Darkoath Barbarians since AOS1, and we started to see artworks and rumor engines in AOS2 that looked like Varanguard on foot, pic related : NB : those RE where not from a Warcry war band, not even the Spire Tyrants ! (But the beard one could in fact be the back of the Fomoroid Crusher). So now we know we'll get New Battletome, Endless Spells, a Start Collecting, and, according to our very @Whitefang : - A new mounted Chaos Lord, - New Chaos Knights. I'm fine with that.,,, but I would still have preferred proper replacement kits for Warriors and Maraudeurs on foot instead of new Knights (the current kit is fine and we also have Varanguards). Then that doomed fella down here look pretty good (and a bit like the existing kit, with the cape from the old metal one) :
  15. Thank you @Overread for the write up ! Do you remember, grosso modo, the OBR and Slaanesh lists' contents ?
  16. It means we'll get Light Aelves in summer 2020 my friend BTW the leaked list of releases is a benediction - I'm glad to know Slaves To Darkness are coming in December (well, just waiting on Blood&Glory this Saturday for 100% confirmation - which means I'll decide between them and OBR around Christmas) BUT as the list stops with the STD book + scenery + spells, we may get some Heroes or even new units in January. Lets not forget OBR got the Book + scenery + Endless spells first, and then the releases of new models. Maybe the list just stops in the middle of the STD release (tho I kinda doubt that, but still...)
  17. Thanks for the report here and in the rumor thread. Can you please tell us in more details how it went ? (Sorry I don't have Twitch and wasn't at home this evening). Txh @Overread !
  18. Well I'm happy we got a boxset with all new kits on one side vs some old and ONE new character on the other... Erratic GW once again But yeah, two Battletomes ; really looking forward to see the full OBR rosters and rules. And I have to say the artworks from yesterday and the one on the warscroll cards picture are really good. -- Are the Mortek Guard on 25 or 28mm bases ? Can someone please ask on Facebook (I don't have an account anymore)...
  19. Azyr is also the focus of the next Realm-based WD modelism article. And is already a key word in the Chronomantic Cogs warscrolls. But the Orruk Warclans battletome confirms that Gordrakk will attack Excelsis. City not featured in the COS book in terms of rules or artworks - which are yet existing as we saw them in White Dwarf earlier this year : My call (as said in the rumor thread) : Next AOS supplement is a Siege supplement in Ghur (the focus shifting from Shyish to Ghur is well established already with Beastgrave, Orruk Warclans and Mawtribes (after Ossiarch Bonereapers - which may got Bone Fortresses as mentioned in the CoS Battletome...)
  20. As ever with GW release practices, it was an interesting but weird week-end ! There is a few questions I d'like to discuss ; 1) Question : Why where the Devoted Of Sigmar gutted in the CoS book ? Flagellants and Priests are very well represented in artworks and stories since AOS 2.0 (the new Celestant-Prime artwork with cherubs and Devoted with cool design, Excelsior Warpriests leading crusades of Devoted to Lethis from Azyrheim to help the siege in Forbidden Power, squads of mounted Warrior Priests defending Glymmsforge, the God-King's brand story in the Stormcast BT, etc.). Speaking of Excelsior Warpriest, why isn't he rereleased with the book (like the Doomseeker with Fyreslayers) or simply its Warscroll printed in ? The EW are very present in the Forbidden Power story and rules as said above, and so are they in the AOS RPG Soulbound ! Note that the Excelsior Warpriest is the only "common Human" model designed for AOS so far that is not dead (unlike that sigmarite peasant in the Lord of Afflictions' hand or the entombed Sigmarite barbarian in the objective set). Also : Witch Hunters of the Order of Azyr ! They are in tons of BL novels right know, and are a very important Warhammer archetype. Possible answer : because (just like the Nighthaunts after the Legions of Nagash BT), there is a Devoted of Sigmar army in the work. It would help GW flesh out the normal human sides of things (like Cities of Sigmar do), but with a proper AOS, trademarkable design (unlike CoS). It would also help GW flesh out AT LONG LAST the Realm of Azyr (which already exist in rules in the Chronomantic Cog and the Celestial Hurricanum warscrolls) and the city of Azyrheim. There is too few details about Azyr and its capital in the Core Book, the Stormcast BT and apparently now in the CoS BT (which indeed contains infos about Azyrheim, but with less details than the old Grand Alliance : Order book !). And we need a map of Azyr... The Devoted of Sigmar armies could be presented (like in AOS1 fluff and the Lethis story) as crusading armies coming from Azyrheim to help the Cities of Sigmar and the greatly outnumbered Stormcasts Eternals in every Realms. So a kind of rearguard / reserve horde-type troops. 2) Question : why didn't GW expand on the "Hammergrod" Forbidden Power in the Orruk Warclans BT ? Apparently Gordrakk now have a huge siege engine with a godbeast skull mounted on in, and he wants to use it on the Gates of Azyr. But he wants to test it somewhere first. The obvious choice of an Order city in Ghur near Grodrakk is obvously Excelsis. And we saw 2 new, modern artworks of Excelsis in White Dwarf a few months back - artworks that didn't appeared ANYWHERE else, and not in the CoS book (as the various YouTube reviews have already shown) ! Possible answer ; the next AOS supplement (in 2020?) will be a Siege book with Order Cities scenery, Bones fortresses (as seen in the Ossiarch Bonereapers leaks) and Chaos Dreadhold (re)releases, with Ironjawzs siege engines on the top. So there could be new fluff, scenery kits and rules for Excelsis (and possibly Azyr) for example... WHAT DO YOU THINK ?
  21. So the units roster for the Ossiarch Bonereapers seems to be : - Nagash - Katakros - Arkhan the Black - Tithe Herald (walking tomb) - "Bone-Slann" (right of the group pic from WarCom) - "Bone-Lord Celestant" (mounted guy, left from the group pic) - Mortisian "Boneshaper" (from today's leak) - Mortisian "Soulreaper" (already seen) - Morghast Habringers and Archai - Mortek Guard - Kavalos Deathriders - Immortis Guard, and Necropolis Stalkers (dual kit) - Gothizzar Harvesters (bone-dreadnought with several head and weapon options) - Mortek Crawler (catapult) Thats at least 16 warscrolls here.... GREAT ☠️☠️☠️ Plus the scenery "Tithe Nexus", and maybe the Skull Castle walls and gate we've already seen...
  22. Absolutely loving what I'm seeing I mean hearing so far ! If Arkhan and the Morghasts are their, then Nagash should be too... right ?
  23. This picture is very old, from one of the first WD weekly coming after AOS launch in 2015...
  24. I would say it's almost confirmed, as we can clearly see repetitive, painted-like walls (exact same motives and regularity, looks like modular panels like the Dreadhold Walls - i.e. it's a molded thing, not a kit bash) in the back, also the Skull gate like in the artworks.
  25. GLORIOUS !!!☠️ Well I love the End Times Nagash, Arkhan and Morghasts aestethic, it seems it's the main inspiration here in terms of existing models (the gems, the armor trims), with a few design taken from illustration in the Malign Portents book and Shadespire / Nightvault, and nice Middle-Far east influences ! I hope the rules will let us use normal Skeletons (at least the basic ones) alongside the new range ... at last my dream of a Death Skeleton Legion (a bit like Necron in Fantasy) will be fulfilled 😈 (...looking forward to using Apocalypse movement trays and Contrasts paints to tackle all those bones....)
