  3. Is anyone running Savage Big Bosses outside of the Rukks they’re required for? Mine is doing very little in my list at the moment.

  5. Just wanted to break the radio silence to say I’ve just bought into DoK and I’m really hype. Gonna try and go for a pure masks list, mainly because I can’t paint faces. Gonna be dope.
  6. No doubt. However... Could also bring a cheapo 5 Ardboys as a screen for him and a backfield objective holder. More use for the Warchanter buff as well with the other IJ unit. Might have a bash with this tomorrow night - beefed up Idol and 4 cast Wurrgog slinging damage and buffs at 30” tickles my fancy...   8. Give the Warchanter Get ‘Em Beat and it’s charging on 3d6!! EDIT: Of course you’ve already Breath of Gorkamorka’d it to move 20/30” first. It could smash anything on the table from your backline. Use it to buff your casts for a round or two and then send him in to decimate!! EDIT: Oh, wait, he’d only get the Beat in Ironjawz and Big Waaagh! wouldn’t he?

  10. If I get enough movement trays... I'm going to give it a go and see what it's like. Without those movement trays though? Hell nah. Can someone please talk me down from this madness?
  11. I think the biggest thing is on those old metals and stuff. £10 for a Skryre Acolyte (Battleline and 60 points for 5) is obscene. Other than that I can buy what I like thankfully.
  12. Unfortunately not with that command ability as the last sentence states. You can however use that CA then cast the Maniak Weirdnob’s unique spell on the same unit and get 3 hits with a 6 to hit roll.
  13. Rolled the double to get my Boarboys moving 36” to win an objective and the game in turn 4 on Friday night. Such a fun unit in a great army. Hopefully Bonesplitterz will settle out somewhere near the top of the pack but not too top. I think it’s strong without being obnoxious and I think a lot of people will underestimate the army, especially with Ironjawz being so popular at the moment.
  14. As at @Malakithe said, just don’t engage. Most scenarios have at least 3 objectives. Let’s say he parks his 30 HGBs on one, well that’s 2 others for you to sit on with your massive blobs of 30. He’ll never be able to muster more than 10 HBG per objective in reply so just sit it out. Duardin are probably the slowest army in the game so they won’t be rushing to get you.
  15. I think Drakkfoot is good but you give up a lot for it. The anti magic stuff is nice. Don’t forget that another good way to beat stuff like Ethereal and after damage saves is just to roll a massive pile of dice and make your opponent roll so many saves that some eventually get through. This is already a strength of the book. Icebone offers the rend (which you’ll get loads of due to weight of dice) and lets you have the CT (as well as ‘Boarshenanigans’) so it’s a more rounded choice for me.
  16. Is the Cauldron hero box just permanently out of stock? Not sure I’ve ever seen it available on the GW store.
  17. Yeah, you made me think again about Icebone and the Snaga as quality options, cheers dood. Didn't see anything massive beside Drakkfoot stuff - it doesn’t work on the Aetherial Amulet and you still can’t do more than 3 wounds to Morathi. Also the 2 targets of Brutal Beast Spirits on a double must both be wholly within 24”. Nothing really.
  18. Had been meaning to have a look at Ian's list, reassuring to see a few similarities between his list and mine that I've been mulling over over the weekend. I do think 3 cast Wurrgog is the way to go and if I keep him backfield he can movement buff and +1 to hit the Arrowboys as well. Arrowboys moving 15" then shooting is a tasty proposition.   19. Had a proper read of Icebone, that cheeky bit of rend looks very appealing. I think they’re going to FAQ it so a Weirdnob has to be the general though right?
  20. Played and won my first game last night vs. Skaven. It was quite a fluffy list tbh on their part, pure Skryre with Stormfiends (6 shooty and 3 melee) 2x5 and a 15 Acolytes and 2 WLC in the one-drop. I had my list from the previous page with small tweaks. Border War in Ghyran. He one-dropped covering his home and my right objective. I deployed Arrows on my home and Savages on my left then the two units of Boars and the Stabbas on my right. Moved Savages and Boars forward pre-game. He went first and took the two centres with small units to bait me in so he could shoot me off, he also shot about 3 Boars off. Basically I took the bait, Savages minced his melee Stormfiends in one combat on my left (I had them buffed by Savage Boss and the plus to save spell and dance from Wardokk). I put Breath on the front Boars and then ran down and tagged the shootyfiends in his own territory while the unit behind ran and capped the centre right objective. Once I was ahead in scoring that was it really, his shooting was utterly lethal (only had the Arrowboys and a couple of heroes left by mid round 4) but we did the maths and the game was up. By sheer coincidence my pile-ins stopped him piling in closer to the centre objectives on a couple of occasions which definitely helped. Impressions: Struggled to find a role for the Wurrgog tbh as my opponent didn’t have any hordes. Think I’ll give him the War Cry next time as it has a big range. Savages are lethal. Boars are speedy and do some damage but go down quickly. Really enjoyed the game anyway!! Had fun rolling the dice and pushing around the Boys.

  24. Taking pure Skryre to Blood and Glory next month, thinking: Arch-Warlock (DI, VI) Engineer (Brass Orb (because why not?)) Bombardier 6 shootyfiends 3 meleefiends with the Grinderfists for deepstrike 15 Acolytes 2x5 Acolytes 2 WLC Batallion for one drop. Any thoughts? I have no expectation of winning, just want to take my shooty rats. EDIT: Naturally all the heroes have MMMWP as their spell.
