  1. I miss Wanderers too. 31 year old unit that is incredibly iconic and historic just tossed aside I was hoping that Silver Tower Aelf would have gotten the Wanderer keyword and it would have been a signal towards what they planned to do. If the current scroll had the Wanderer keyword they would synergise well particularly with Sisters of the Thorn
  2. Well I think it was about 4-5 years ago some idiot on his blog wrote "Slaanesh has to go" and since then people have predicted GW removing Slaanesh from the game. Only... even GW is now making fun of people trying to claim they are killing Slaanesh off.
  3. Yeah me too. We went from 6th ed, really cool book, lots of flavour, unique style, integrated well to Phil Kelly and Andy Hoare making them poop worshiping crazies who barely squeaked by as playable with an oddity of a rule in 7th/8th to "you are strictly a meat shield and die in droves in the story" in AoS. We lost all our cool flavour and fun to get it back in drips. The Beasts of Chaos umbrella should really be more interesting than it is.
  4. I have taken a TLA, I only take 6 Hunters. I think my list was Durthu, 6 hunters, Drycha, TLA, dryads and TRs?
  5. It is all about the alpha strike with a Durthu or 6-9 Kurnoth Hunters. The Spite Revenants won't do much in combat. You can use them and Drycha for some bravery shenanigans. When I play Dreadwood I mostly just have them farting around since my Durthu, Drycha and Scyth hunters are going around smacking stuff up. Harvest boon has great utility since they can get casting and movement boosts. I'm a big fan of it, plus I have loads of Dryads. Also you can really spam summon dryads with the casting bonuses on the branchwraithes.
  6. What was your feeling on the 3 x 10 SotW?
  7. I've only fielded mine in units of 30. I think most the time you want Brayherd units nearly maximized.
  8. I was told MoS used to be ASF in editions previous to 6th (when I started) and in 40k they have a similar mechanic so I don't feel it is too outlandish.
  9. There is a bug with the Waystone Pathfinder pathway not showing up when you choose Wanderers. It is there if you only select Order.
  10. Manticore sorcerer lords seem to be more popular now. He has a lot of good utility to add to the army? Any tips on using one would be appreciated Thanks,
  11. Kenny on Combat Phase mentioned Devolve in his Warherd which I hadn't thought of. I had great success with my list granted the lack of +1 to hit on a 5+ will weaken it.
  12. I own 30 painted from when I started the army in 2005 (as an autumn theme), and another 40 I'm painting up now (as summer). So the horde isn't a problem for me. Initially my focus was on 6 Hunters and 3 x 10 Dryads. Then use the summoning to bring in more dryads. I think with the Balewind, you could get good boosts. However I do want to try two hordes of 30. Last edition I played a lot of 10 man MSU Winterleaf. I found them easy to get into woods, then backed with a Treeman stomp they were hard to hit and denied my Maggotkin opponent his bonus attacks. What I am looking at trying now is 30 Tree Revenants in either Treelord (Oakenbrow?) or Ironwood. I did some quick loose dmg output and found them not dissimilar to Hunters with swords (granted no where near the tankiness). Mostly this idea came from facing a 30-man Thrall unit that performed well.
  13. One of the things that attracts me to Harvestboon is the movement. There is an ability for +1" move (Warsinger?) for the general, I believe? Along with the bonus from the formation. If you add in Cogs, a BW with the +1 to cast should be getting that off on an 8? (speaking entirely from memory on coffee break here; and yeah not super reliable). a +4" charge is a sneaky alpha strike.
  14. That is a lot of Raiders. I've painted up to of him. Very nice model.
  15. I think like mounted daemonettes they can be late game objective grabbers. Those look nice. That is a rare snow base that stands out to me (usually they don't have the same feel), kudos Me too. I just did a Tree Revenant like the green skin art in the Sylvaneth book and was debating doing a Wild Rider like that as well.
  16. I ran: 3 Doombulls, 3 x 3 Bullgors (GWs) 3 Ghorgons 30 Gors Great Bray-Shaman. The screening Gors is the missing component to killing power of the bulls. I've never been able to make 6-man Bullgor units work, you just loose 3-4 of them but have less room for more doombulls and ghorgons.
  17. Jabbers show up in nearly all Brayherd, some Warherd and even armies like Host of Slaanesh. Very good. Never noticed that about Bestigors now. Not a bad option to consider since I was taking 30 Gors and a Brayshaman previously. Yes they are very killy for their points. Doombulls with a lucky roll will hit and wound on 2s with -2 rend and 3 DMG. They also make better generals since they have 9 wounds. Also glad to see you back Decker Rend is king. Plus 3 dmg doesn't hurt I've been thinking about multiple Beastlords lately. The models are just beautiful and I have a few more kicking around I would like to use. Like mini-doombulls.
  18. Is that true? Paying 200+ for a formation, unless the benefit really outweighs is a poor management way to get a command point then.
  19. Those are really good and I recently revisited them but like almost all podcasts the first ~50 minutes is people talking about their hobby and gaming which is annoying but at least Garage hammer gives you the times so you can skip it.
  20. Josh is coming up fast as #2 to my man crush on Guy Haley as fav BL authors. His prolific work in AoS is hurting my wallet and.. I'm pretty good with that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
