I was hoping they will have redone the core models for Tomb Kings but if this rumour is true, I agree it will be a mistake. I don’t think anybody was expecting all the sets to be redone, but I think there was an expectation that dated kits would be updated. If this rumour is true, I think it’s an own goal as majority of the target audience will probably shift to other manufactures or print their own stuff. GW make some amazing models but I can say that the Skeletons for core Tomb Kings aren’t in that category!

Awesome! Forgot they did an updated roadmap and my brain just says Cities is out now 🤣 (doesn’t help there are loads on eBay at moment). Winter sounds like it will be fun too

Without derailing the rumour thread (!?!) anymore, yes I think that’s the main target. You will honestly be surprised. I do have to add, this is going into a GW store. Indie stores and websites do not count as people will be thinking about getting a good price or getting other items (like paint ranges). The GW stores are designed as one stop shops for parents of new players. Anyway back to rumours… With the Destruction releases coming up and Warcry, I don’t think there is much more this year for AOS outside the Christmas boxes. Has anybody heard different?

Oh also just to say, new Ironjaws and Fyreslayers look ace and this is what AOS has needed for a long time - more variety and ranges being their own thing.

Not going to disagree but for many casual gamers just starting out, you aren’t thinking about FAQs and things like that. It’s not until you’ve got a few games in and drifting away from getting everything from one place. Pretty sure the typical customer for GW is women in their 30s/40s buying something for their children. All of us who use the internet, are older and doing our own thing aren’t the target audience 😉

In my opinion, this is what they should do as it would be easier for them to manage the rules. However, I fully understand they need to make it accessible to new players to walk into a shop and have everything they need to play, so this won’t happen.

I think it’s a brand new Warscroll for Ardboyz so technically you wouldn’t be able to use the old models. Looks like GW are phasing out some old models in readiness to resell for The Old World. Really curious what this means for Skaven.

This. I think we will see updates like the Ironjaws now for a few armies. I think it’s unlikely for anything else as it looks like a run for 4th edition now. As much as I would love to see Chaos Dwarfs in AOS I don’t think they will appear unless it’s for something like Underworlds or Blood Bowl at moment. Maybe for 4th edition and even maybe in the box set but I don’t think it will be before.

Just a thought but while every 8th edition army will have rules at launch, doesn’t mean it will be 8th edition rules. I’m thinking they will step back to a earlier edition that has been tweaked. I’m not expecting a lot to be honest. I think they will do a character set that will have lots of bits for units but they will just release old kits. And I’m not expecting all kits to appear at the start either.

Depends on what Valrak has heard and from whom. I agree my guess wouldn’t be foundation shaking but to certain people it would be. And if they are talking to Valrak, he will repeat the same and maybe put more on it foundation shaking as he’s not really interested in anything fantasy based. A lot of rumours are based on how people describe things and if you look back in the day at stuff being leaked and what they are referring to, it’s easy to see how somebody could describe it like that. It’s not long now before we find out what they are showing off and I’m trying not to expect too much as I won’t see what I want to see 🤣

If I was to guess I would say it would be actual models and list for Kislev, Nippon or Chaos Dwarfs. However, as mentioned, Valrak only has a passing interest in anything non 40K related, so he could be getting The Old World and Age of Sigmar messed up. Plus, this is stuff he’s just heard which doesn’t make it true. GW work years ahead with things and what could be released as one thing this year, may be tweaked and changed if they choose to go down a different design path.

A few weeks ago I would have said probably next year but if they are showing stuff at Warhammer Fest, there’s a big chance it’s this year. It’s tough to say as 40K 10th edition gives them loads of releases for this year already! I’m hoping it will be maybe a trailer showing newly painted armies, bit of talk about base sizes and the rulebook cover. The big thing will be confirmation about base sizes as it allows people to do stuff now in readiness for the release. Im expecting the rulebook cover and some art 🤣

I’ll have a chat with Ben about it as I know he had plans about reorganising stuff but not sure when as I’m busy with work (team has shrunk and I was already doing job of a few people and trying not to get stressed).

100% this! It’s your hobby and you need to enjoy it. It’s okay not to do stuff for a bit and come back to it when you want to get enjoyment from it.

This is pretty much what I’m expecting. Just covering stuff we will see over next few months. I’m quite excited for the Seraphon reveal though but I’m thinking more about what we might see at Adepticon and Warhammer Fest

Probably. I can’t remember as it feels like ages ago! Looking at the roadmap again, think you’re right. Looks like a flurry of releases with book and character (guessing Seraphon, Hedonites, Blades, Soulblight and Bonereapers). I think Seraphon will get a bit more with a unit model update.

The LVO is at the end of the month and I think there is a preview then. I suspect most AOS content will be just reveals about the stuff for next few months which has been confirmed as Beast of Chaos and Gloomspite Gits. They might show some Cities stuff but I’m expecting that around March with Adepticon or in May with Warhammer Fest.

To my knowledge they weren’t however there’s nothing stopping them appearing to act out the old ones plan 😁 If I remember the Great War against chaos didn’t change for years and wasn’t really explored. It’s quite cool they are choosing it as a setting as there’s a big scope to do stuff. So they could have Lizardmen appearing but probably more as isolated appearances which nobody believes.
