  1. Swordmasters They are the most popular Lumineth unit in lore but are nowhere to be found
  2. Or a pokeball. Only your paint scheme can tell 🤣
  3. Seen likely. Maybe they are gona be released sooner than expected.
  4. I think they would fel more special if they were still a special unit inside of an army. I dont dislike the design but i dont like it enough to paint a 100 of then. I bought the warband and was good enough for me. They could be pretty awesome if they were expanded into different units that are not "more naked running dorfs", same could be said about Ironjaws. Oh and they should wear pants. Cmom.
  5. In the end all i want is a new wave of models that i enjoy so i can share your enthusiasm for the line. Maybe it will come soon, who knows?
  6. Geology bro here! (But i never graduated) Those little hammers are pretty awesome tools. I dont think the sword lady is a one off too, but with GW and Underworlds is alway hard to be sure. It would be cool to see it on the next release but i am not sure. I dont think they fit the Wind temple, but maybe they could be a Vanari unit?
  7. It is kinda weired that among all the things i dont like about Alarith, the hammers do not bother me at all. While i would rather have Swordmasters remade (because i love both their lore AND their looks), i dont see a problem with elves and hammers. Given their lore and lifespan i think elves can be proficient with pretty much any weapon, specially with the Monk like background of the Alarith.
  8. On the other hand, i feel a lot of backlash when i post, even when i try to be objective as possible. You like the models, that is ok. I dont. The thread ask about Lumineth aesthetic. I posted what i think about it without insulting, pointing fingers or blaming or shaming anyone . No more, no less. Again i tryed to be objective about what i liked and what i disliked, just answering the proposed idea of the topic. In my post i avoided talking about the whole sucession issue, mentioning only the detach from the visual identity of former High Elves. It was pretty much about Lumineth and Lumineth alone. Now YOU proposed a theory and i tryed to answer as respectfully and objectively as i could, and you once again come to bash me as if i was spilling rage on the forum, what if you are fair, i was not. The whole T versus V and ^ design was covered by someone with some design experience in the past (by the time of the release) and i tought it might give an insight about why and how people feel about it. That is all i mentinoned and i didnt disrespect you or was agressive toward your comment or ideas. I will avoid interactions with you for now on since it mostly result in flames and i have no interest in that.
  9. I am not a designer or artist by any measure, but i belive the visual problem people have with the cow helmets is the "T" shape, and the fact that their weapon swing will probably go overhead, like a 2 handed hammer does in real life. If you compare to the picture you showed, that hammer mid swing would hit his head (or come close to it) while the Dragon Blade headgear doesnt look like "in the way" of the elven spears or swords. Something about the "T" shape makes the model have an overall unusual silhuette and maybe that is what gives the "there is something wrong" sensation on people. It is not usual for a models head to be larger or the top than the bottom. Same happens with other Lumineth models like the Cathallar and the Stonemage.
  10. In general i dislike every single helmet. The traditional Winged cone helmets were to me a huge (pun non intended) part of the High Elf identity and it is gone in favor of generic "historical lite" helmets on the Vanari and the really bizarre Alarith ones. I own some Lumineth but do not really feel like actually building a full army. Hope that the new wave of models change that Will go unit by unit: Wardens: Really like the spear formation they make. Look pretty on the table. Have the helmet issue i mentioned above. Sentinels: They are ok. Same helmet issue. Would rather have no helmets or traditional ones. Would prefer a kit "more posable" like sisters of the watch. instead of the monopose we see tru most of the Lumineth line (minus Alarith hammers) Dawnriders: They look pretty, but they replaced my favorite kit, the Dragon Blades and so far no replacement for the excelent Dragon Noble. Alarith Stoneguard: This guys look awesome. Until you get to the awfull helmets. You can spin around all sorts of lore shenennigans for those helmets be funcional or have some sort of balance. They dont. They ruin the shape, movement and balance of the models. A shame, they would look great otherwise. Even the lower part of the helmets look good. The heroes: Eltharion is flawless. I wish the units had his visual indentity. He looks cool but lonely in the army (both as a model and a warscroll that have no sinergy with the rest of the line) Cathallar : This model have a lot of ups and down for me. Her face, veil and dress are pretty, but i cant get my head around that thing she has over hers. It is a huge solid looking metal bar that contrast with the delicate rest of the model. Even the new artwork for the RPG cant shake off that feel. I dont get what it is suposed to be or represent and the model look so much better without it. Her hands and feet look to big to me. The burner thing is really close to her veil and make me go "look out lady you gona burn yourself pretty bad!". That said is a model i will probably buy one day and convert the things i like. Alarith Stonemage: Look great until you reach the bizarre helmet. Her/his ( i reall really dont know) face is also strange. If this was the only Alarith with Horns it would make some sense considering her/his pose . The Cows: I dont like the entire Alarith visual identity, but i think the generic Cow is miles ahead of Avalenor. Avalenor expression look a bit "derpy" to me for a lack of a better word and his weapons and pose are weired and not imposing to me. Someone made a conversion that made him look up and it improved the model a lot imo. The generic cow on the other hand looks more peacefull, contemplative and more powerfull with the 2 handed hammer. I think it fits better with Lumineth. Annnnd Teclis: Oh boy.... I am more of a painter/collector than gamer myself. I like all GW big AoS Gods models. Morathi made me start a DoK army and i got Allarielle because i love the model. If given the oportunity i would grab a Nagash because he is also really cool . I am not into Chaos but i respect the art on Archeon. When Teclis artwork was released, i felt in love. he is in a Idoneth aspect pose and very dinamic. I waited since AoS 1.0 for this guy and the model came... oh boy... Cellenar is cool. If he was alone as a behemoth for Lumineth, i would have the model. Teclis on the other hand feel out of focus on his own model. He is not centered, is on a weired pose that i dont get what was the intention. His body apears to be streched like when you try to lift a cat when holding its front legs. The face on his art looks like the face of the Idoneth Eidolon but on his model he looks triangular, almost alien like. Teclis is kinda jumping/leaning foward as if going to face something in contrast to Cellenar serene pose. What is going on here? As a comparison, Katrakos, that also have extras on his base, is way more coherent. Everyone on his model look like they belong far away on the field, on a command post. Would look weired if one of the skeletons were freaking out as if in Battle. It composes a scene, while Teclis does not. Last Sword made its Teclis recently and is good of a comparison on the point i am making: The elf is walking down, peacifully and so is the sphinx. Both apear to be intelectuals discussing some issue. Both also apear to be out of combat but are still imposing. They compose a scene, and in my opinion Teclis doesnt. And i wont even bother talking about the silly helmet.
  11. We dont know, you may be right. While the tome do mention wizards on clouds, nothing stops it from beeing a unit. 3 Lumineth units got Wizards as their leader and AoS has some units that count as wizards like sisters of the thorn, so dont give up on hope!
  12. Have seen then with this headswaps: Phoenix Guard, Shadow Warrior (looks pretty awesome), only the bull mask, Vanari helmets (infantary and cavalry), Helmet with plume bit on top, and bloodbowl elf faces to name a few.
  13. One of the reasons for not seeing a lot of Battlecows conversions is because not a whole lot of people use then. Those that didnt like Alarith for obvious reasons, but also you can arge that the most optimal lists are usually Vanari or Vanari+Teclis. While the cow itself is hard to see conversions, the Hammer bros are headswaped a lot . I would say about 50% of the pictures of then on Lumineth groups are converted. Same goes to the mage.
  14. It lacks unamed heroes and number of Warscrolls. Also the list building has some synergy limitations that makes the roster feel smaller. Lumineth got: 3 named heroes (Teclis, Eltharion and Avalenor) 2 unamed ones (mage and cow mage) 4 troops (1 batteline and other conditional one) (Spear/Bow/Cav/Cow hammers) 1 non hero behemoth. (unnamed cow) Only the Behemoth kit is a dual kit. 10 Warscrolls. Rulewise, there isnt much incentive to mix Alarith with Vanari, so most lists will have little variation, specially on gameplay. Boils down to Teclis/No Teclis, Spears or hammers, Cow faction/not. The result is: Teclis(maybe)+Spears+bunch of archers or Full cow+ bunch of archers, and both play kinda the same. Slow moving castle. Cant make a cavalry army for example because there is only 1 fast unit in the whole army. Eltharion looks good on paper but kinda do not fit the gameplay of the army itself, so most lists dont use it.
  15. My concept would be like weakers warscrolls but full of sinergy costing about 800 points or so. Maybe not an optimal list but something fun and with flavor.
  16. Or maybe something new and Unique, like "if you take both gods, you instead use a diferent warcroll " and pay a smaller cost for the pair. Dunno, Nagash is 800 right? And on this new warscrolls they got skills to work together in a very epic and diferent way.
  17. I wouldnt go as far as saying Lumineth was a 1/4 army (even tho we only got 1 out of 4 temples) but the book felt incomplete. Very small number of Warscrolls, few models and lacking some key pieces (like a freaking generic hero). On a positive note, the fact that Alarith (moo) is made out of only 3 kits makes it easy for GW to release a new temple in a book like Broken Realms instead of a whole new Battletome. That said i wont be surprised if a new book is on the way.
  18. Is the answer to a Lumineth story, lalala lalala lalalaaaaaaaa
  19. If Lumineth new mounts are Lhamas i will have to give then tinny hats.
