  1. Those halfings are awesome. My favourite bloodbowl team so far. I’m glad gw put up a schedule. Still hoping that one of the remaining three updates is Warcry.
  2. Yeah, but they have a history of doing big stuff at Gama. Two years ago we got the Kharadron Overlords reveal which is probably my favourite GW video of all time.
  3. I would love for them to show off exactly what Warcry is. I would be very surprised if we didn’t get a look at the new KO warband for underworlds sometime during the week. It looks like there will a few announcements coming out of the show.
  4. The last couple of years the news from Gama came on the Wednesday, so we can expect news a week from today. In 2017 they showed the trailer which revealed the entire Kharadron Overlords range and last year they announced Kill team so there is a good chance we will see something big.
  5. Gw definitely has stock issues which they admit. They have plans to sort that out this year. Hopefully they can put those plans into effect sooner rather than later.
  6. Actually there is a lot of info directly from the horses mouth about the changes to GW. The is a long interview with Laurie Goulding about the changes to black library which directly impacted aos as the original plan was fir black library to do all the fluff. There is also a long interview with James Hewitt about his time at GW. Even the most recent storm 'cast' with Pete Foley talks about the development of the three ways to play and Gw's changing approach. The preamble in the financial report also tells you a lot about the changing priorities of the company. There is no more talk about being proud of not doing market research for example.
  7. I know it will be big for 40k. I just hope they throw the AOS guys a bone in the midst of it all. 40k got their city fight supplement alongside the gloomspite release. Personally I just really want to know more about forbidden power and especially Warcry. So the longer the 40k release window ends up being, the longer I have to wait. As they managed to release 12 kits, a book and a 40k supplement in two weeks , I had hoped that we would get through the 40k chaos/ primaris stuff in March and maybe see Forbidden power in April. But as it is 40k will probably take up all of March and maybe a chunk of April too. I guess my problem is that I’m seriously tempted by the gloomspite release but I want to see what else is coming before I commit. The Lvo preview had some exciting teases but not much in the way of substance.
  8. Thanks for the rumour but it's a bit of a bummer if true. GW has been full on with its releases this year so far but going into March the sound of the breaks being applied is deafening. The teasing of this 40k Chaos release has almost been more than for a new edition. We have already had two weeks of relatively minor releases. A two week preorder means next week we will get absolutely nothing. Hopefully something interesting for AoS will be shown at Gama. I know it sounds churlish to complain after so many great releases recently, but I feel that gw's pacing of releases is not the best. Why not do the huge gloomspite release over three weeks, or give Skaven and FEC their own week?
  9. Give me something like this but in plastic and I will be very happy. It is an amazing looking model but I'm pretty terrified of working with so much resin.
  10. Just a little heads-up regarding future news. The next event that GW is attending will probably be the Gama tradeshow from March 9th to March 13th. Last year they announced Killteam, two underworlds gangs, a Necromunda gang, a bloodbowl team and said the name Idoneth Deepkin out loud for the first time. That suggests we should see a few interesting things this time.
  11. They have 4 rules writers in each team. If they each do one book every three months they can put out 12 books a year. There are only 4 background writers (I think) who work on both 40k and Aos, so fewer 40k books means more time to do Aos stuff. With something like blades of Khorne which has pretty well established lore I imagine there isn't a huge amount to do. They also don't need to worry about making changes after playtesting. I think we will get the khorne book before Adepticon at the end of March. That would make 4 books in 3 months. A 12 book year is not out of the question: Current 4 + Ko, Slyvaneth, Seraphon, Ironjawz , slaves to Darkness, Slaanesh, Beastclaw / gutbusters and an all new faction. That doesn't sound too bad.
  12. Yeah, but it was that very impactfulness that meant nothing of substance ever happened until the end times. I always knew on page one of a new gotrek novel, that Thanquol would ALMOST destroy a major city, as GW were going to do another empire army book sooner or later. The possibility space of aos is still the most exciting thing about it. I very much look forward to Josh helping GW do something special with the Free Peoples.
  13. I take full responsibility for the potential awesomeness of this news.
  14. I was not being entirely serious. The image is tagged 'simple rogue trader' The recent rogue trader minis embrace the space fantasy aspect of 40k which makes them ideal for AoS conversions. The gsc locus would also make an awesome necromancer etc, etc.
  15. True, but it it doesn't exactly suggest Stormcast are the least liked faction. It takes a lot of time, money and effort to paint an army up to 2000 points and take it to a tournament. People wouldn't do that if they hated the faction they are using. Anyway, enough off topic. Here is the new free peoples hero. (courtesy of bolter and chainsword)
  16. Over on Honest wargamer they have been collecting tournament stats for a while. Stormcast is the second most popular army after LON. After them it is a big gap to number 3.
  17. Don’t worry. The new expansion is called forbidden power. This is not it. It is just a little side project. Forbidden power was only announced a week ago. It will probably come out in March or April.
  18. I’m actually interested in both. I’ve already been playing a simplified version of Shadespire with my sons. Either of these would make a pretty good present for them. The name stormvault can’t be a coincidence, can it?I wonder if it has anything at all to do with forbidden power.
  19. It bothers me that people are so hostile towards anyone who shares rumours. I already said that Ben2 has a pretty good track record over on Dakka. It is fine to be skeptical but don't take out on the people who share stuff. If you only want facts just check the warhammer community site and ignore this thread.
  20. Ben2 is a dakka member who correctly called Killteam commanders, the new Abaddon and a plastic squig herder box well ahead of time so they are fairly reliable. Still waiting for that killTeam Inquisition expansion though.
  21. If I was to guess what warcry is, it would pretty much be description given. We have seen darkoath in the art and Stormcast need their 2019 release so that makes sense. Including Shadespire warbands as easy in would be logical. It all sounds very plausible. In fact so plausible that it is probably just a guess. Also the lore doesn't match what we know. As things stand chaos control 6 of the all gates and order the other two. It is possible they could update the story but the loss of two all gates by chaos would be a very major event. Also linking boards with realmgates sounds strange as the all gates are rediculously huge, not something you would fight a skirmish game either side of. I do expect warcry to be something like this though. Hopefully we will get some actual details at Adepticon.
  22. So, out of curiosity, I google that game and it’s coming out in April. You can download the rules here: https://wizkids.com/posters/repository/wizkids/Anvalor-Rulebook FINAL WEB 10.17.18small.pdf They have a bunch of pictures on the wiz kids website.
  23. A little thing that may be of interest is that next week, from the 16th to the 19th of February, is the New York toy fair. Last year gw announced blitz bowl and space marine adventures at that event. This year gw has two small exibitor booths, so they will be showing something.
  24. Holy moly. The warpstone sparks are much better. Old rule- +1 damage on one weapon on one model. New rule +1 damage on all missile weapons on 3 units. Deranged inventor now works on any unit. So you can have stormfiends armed with rattling cannons and wind launchers. 3d6 attacks rerolling hits doing 2 damage each and 3 attacks rerolling hits with 3 rend doing d3 plus 1 damage each. You can also use the vigordust injector so the stormfiends are hitting on 3s rerolling! Hello shooting meta! Also the vial of the fulminator means your doomwheel can move 8d6 wounding every unit it moves over. That’s sounds fun. I didn’t play a Skyre army before, but with reliable shooting, improved movement, and great anti horde options, it isn’t looking like a very tempting army. You can also take take thanquol as your general and keep your special battleline options.
  25. It usually depends how to sprues are layed out. If the heroes come on their own sprue, they are usually release on their own afterwards.
