  1. Because not everyone plays competitively, but rather for minis beauty and/or lore aspects. Which is what I do. So I'll be playing an all-human army, no matter how powerful it is. I haven't started playing AoS yet so I won't have any relevant contribution to make to this thread in terms of gameplay. For me, the biggest challenge will be finding a colour scheme that suits me... At the moment I'm torn between Lethis, Vindicarum, Hammerhal-Aqsha or a homebrew version. I'm hoping that WarCo will come up with painting articles and photos of alternative schemes with as many models as possible to help me make the best choice !
  2. There's one thing that puzzles me about this magnificent COS release... Do you think the ironweld great cannon could be considered as a steampunk stuff ? I remember @Whitefang responding favourably to this a few months ago : https://www.tga.community/forums/topic/31743-the-mortals-redesign-discussion/?do=findComment&comment=596794 But I don't get impression that this canon is very 'advanced steampunk stuff'... Is it just me fantasising, or is there a hint of a possible 2nd wave? New BT also clearly mentions steam-walkers. With elite/heavy infantry, things related to Azyr and that, there's room for new COS human releases.
  3. The Cavalier-marshal is missing from this list. That makes 12 new kits (13 including Galen & Doralia Ven Denst, for 22 kits dating from WHB). This is one of GW's biggest releases at the moment. Astra Militarum also had 12 new kits and the Leagues of Votann had 11, to take example of recent big releases.
  4. Valrak said, in his last video, that leaks were scheduled to be revealed at Nova Open, for a september release. Someone here also said a day or two ago that a retailer had also told him about the same month (for army set I think). I think at least army set in the first half of September is a perfectly reasonable prediction. Unless the logistical mess with new warehouses gets in the way.
  5. Perhaps we'll have an article with some of the new minis. That's what they did after the massive STD leaks : we got just the daemon prince right away, then the rest as we went along.
  6. When you consider how many times WarCo have been wrong in their articles (just yesterday with minis number in Solar Auxilia support box for Legion Imperialis), I wouldn't bet on the 54 option... With freeguild cavalier-marshal, and considering that all new foot characters are in the same unit, we end up with 52 warscrolls. So we should have seen everything and not have to wait for any more leaks.
  7. This new range may be magnificent, but I have to agree with that. The lack of heavy infantry really saddens me. Especially as I can't see myself playing the greatswords in Warcry, alongside fusiliers and steel helms. Maybe we'll get another wave like we did with Lumineth. Let's pray to Sigmar for that (which doesn't mean we can't enjoy the current new minis... don't give in to frustration and chronic dissatisfaction !).
  8. At first I thought the skeleton was an alternative build of the pontifex, but it's not. I have the impression that GW are moving away from dual kits for special characters.
  9. What a surprise just before going to bed ! If there are no other leaks, I'm a little disappointed not to see an elite infantry unit, but perhaps this sublime arch-kight foreshadows something in the future... I was also expecting something bigger for cannon and especially reliquary/throne. The result is a "medium-sized" character. Ironweld cannon is cool, in same vein as freeguild fusiliers. I'm waiting to see a photo of it from another angle, it looks like it has some sort of winch on top. As for the sort of command squad... I can see now the parallel with Astra Militarum. So characterful and a goldmine to be reused in so many games !
  10. Is this from Bolter&Chainsword ? I read about it there. The reason seems a bit too extravagant to me... Without more proof, I'm sticking with logistical mess hypothesis.
  11. I posted this on monday with all the coins that have not yet been released and that have been leaked on ebay : https://www.tga.community/forums/topic/22826-the-rumour-thread/?do=findComment&comment=625559
  12. This delay announcement makes it understandable why Underworlds skavens are being released next week instead of autumn, and why august collectible coin (which probably should have been Legion Imperialis) has still not been announced on WarCo. So it seems that the change of warehouses is still causing GW logistical problems... I'm starting to worry about COS army set.
  13. Getting back to the potential release month for COS army set, we're starting to accumulate collectibles coins that haven't been released yet, and I think that gives us another indication of a september release : Cross-checking all the rumours we already know, that would give us : August : Legion Imperialis (date already confirmed by WarCom article) September : Army set CoS October : Kill Team box (SM scouts vs. Aeldari scorpions, mentionned by Chapter Master Valrak)
  14. Not only that: there was Hekaton fortress, Grimnyr indeed, but also Ûthar the destined (an alternative build of the generic khal, admittedly), Einhyr champion, Brôkhyr iron-master, Cthonian Beserk Mole Grenade Launcher. As well as the army set and the codex cover. That was a lot of stuff in one go. But I agree that you're going to have to insert things from the Dawnbringers II and III books, even if they're just characters (maybe a surprise unit like the ardboyz ?). Anyway, there should only be a month and a half maximum left : 1) before we know everything about the new COS units, 2) to hold army set in our hands. After almost a year and a half of waiting, another 5/6 weeks will be bearable (but always frustrating at the same time ^^).
  15. If there are no leaks between now and then, this could be the planning for last reveals (according to 52 warscrolls) : 7 august: monday reveal 21 august: monday reveal 30-31 august (Nova Open): final reveal 3 september : army set pre-order announcement 9 september : army set pre-order 16 september : army set release The only thing that bothers me is that there's only one kit for Nova Open... we could imagine more things for such occasion (or maybe it's a big central piece in a final firework like... a giant reliquary ?). Unless, there are 54 warscrolls or bigger reveals planned in other GW's ranges (new space marines, TOW...).
  16. Skabbik's Plaguepack is now coming out in August, whereas the Underworlds roadmap indicated this autumn? And also the new rival deck wasn't even announced : Is it just me, or does this release show that roadmaps can't be trusted (or that GW couldn't care less about side games like Underworlds) ?
  17. It would indeed make sense for Callis & Toll not to be duplicated in COS BT if they are released as part of the Dawnbringers campaign. That would free up two places... for the last two unknown warscrolls (if 52 warscroll cards announced in the army set are accurate). How frustrating to have the BT's photo without the person having opened it to reveal its contents ! Although I can understand why, if it's an influencer related to GW.
  18. If you could, that would be very kind. If there are 52 of them, that would mean there's still cannon, reliquary, Callis & Toll... And no elite infantry. 😢 I hope @Chikout's right!
  19. 52 warscrolls ?? It said 54 in the reveals article of the army box.
  20. Just for info, i can't upload this picture on my smartphone, but there's a beautiful artwork of Tahlia Vedra, posted on Warhammer Instagram and AoS Facebook page. 😍
  21. As far as I'm concerned, there's still a chance that we'll have a preview article with all the remaining new minis in a few weeks' time, which would allow army set to be released before the end of August. But perhaps we'll have a reveal next monday, every fortnight, with final reveals at Nova Open and an early September release.
  22. Its also comes from a Facebook post (not even an hour ago) asking which is our favourite city. There's nothing to suggest an imminent release, but the little clues are piling up one after the other...
  23. This reflects GW's desire to create fantasy-style space marines. It's their goldmine, so they wanted to do the same thing in Mortal Realms, except that the similarity was not subtle enough and SM's success is not a fixed recipe that can be applied anywhere and everywhere.
  24. Just thinking about that, did I understand correctly that there would soon be a preview article showing all the remaining COS new features in one go ? We're going to have the same thing tomorrow for SM or Tyranids. Could it be that COS will get it the following Saturday ? I think the number of kits revealed tomorrow could be a good indication of what GW are prepared to show in one go for Cities. Like that, pre-order army set on 29 July for release on 5 August and we'd have about a month until the full army release in early September. Right in time for autumn period as planned.
  25. In my opinion, GW made a mistake not to cut the cord with WHB as soon as AoS was launched. Now, 8 years later, we're still in a lopsided situation where no-one is fully satisfied, between those (like me) who want a real identity for AoS, free of the dross of Old World and those who have, as you say, made an emotional investment in their armies and minis since WHB. Starting AoS was a brave (or unconscious) decision, but they didn't go all the way. So now we're forced to follow a game that's evolving slowly and where every disappearance of fantasy references makes us cringe. As a reminder, in the entire range of AoS miniatures, including Warcry/Underworlds references and everything that's coming out for COS, the ratio of AoS minis to Fantasy minis is around 69%. After 8 years. I don't think that's normal for a so-called new universe (even if it's in the continuity of the Old World according to the lore, I agree). I keep repeating myself on this, but AoS desperately needs to stand on its own two feet and have a real identity. Even today, not many people are interested in its lore (and it's not by stopping translating novels, because of low sales, that that's going to help develop it... it's a vicious circle). I know it sounds harsh, but to achieve this, fantasy minis need to be put away (or fully integrated into TOW).
