  1. DB 6, lore development, factions focus... I sense a lot of impatience here. AoS 4th doesn't come out for another 2 months. It will have plenty to fill every day from 17 May when they unveil the launch box. The focus factions alone only take 23 days.
  2. About Underworlds warbands in 4th : do you think they'll disappear entirely in next BT (at least those that aren't recent) ? The changing ranges announcment was evasive on this. I was wondering about this when I had Hexbane Hunters to integrate into a COS Witch Hunters themed army.
  3. There's still 2 full months before AoS 4th... So there's plenty of time to get Dawnbringers VI out by then.
  4. I really hope @Whitefang back me up is right with this rumour. Up until now he's only had info on the launch set if I'm not mistaken. But if his vision goes beyond that, that would be great !
  5. It's interesting to see a different way of looking at AoS minis ranges. Personally, I count 1 kit = 1 reference per army. It doesn't matter how many entries the kit allows. For example, with Sons of Behemat, I only count one kit as it allows me to make all mega-gargant options available : King Brodd/Gatebreaker/Kraken-eater/Warstomper/Beast-smasher. I'm not counting Kragnos either, which is inter-army for me (like Nagash for Death). Using Idoneth example given above, I also add characters that are only available in start collecting (Soulscryer in the case of Idoneth, which makes 12 refs for them, excluding Underworlds warband/terrain).
  6. If we change armies (CoS, SE, SBGL and Ironjawz for me), I might think it was myself who wrote this message !
  7. Thanks for this topic and his nice common-sense contributions ! In addition to the aspects discussed here, there's one factor that particularly affects me and that someone briefly mentioned above : decision-making paralysis. It may seem trivial, even superficial, but it's ruining my hobby at the moment because I'm unable to make up my mind and settle on a single army to follow and develop. You could tell me : "collect and paint what you like, army will come over time". Except that, to get to heart of the matter here, my time dedicated to the hobby has fallen drastically with a baby arrival. Paradoxically I've never felt so much like PLAYING with AoS 4th, even though I've been mainly a painter/collector for 25 years. I'm sick of not getting the most out of my slowly painted minis, so I want to play with them for real and on a regular basis ! But i have to admit that I'm the worst player in the world to make up my mind... Every time there's a little something wrong : such and such a mini/unit is too old/doesn't appeal to me, such and such an army is difficult to play (I'm absolutely not a strategist...), such and such an army is difficult to paint but I like minis... Again and again. And to top it all off, I'm super slow at painting ! 😅 So at the moment, I'm torn between 4 armies to settle on 4th (but I could add more of course)... I'm not looking for miracle advice/solutions but just to share another type of mental problem that can be encountered in the hobby. This one is supposed to bring pleasure, relaxation and joy but we can tend to forget that, caught up in it as we can be.
  8. I can't remember if this Grombrindal was released before or after primaris, but it was definitely revealed before. I remember that some people pointed out the new elements of his armour and that it coincided with first primaris rumours. It was for December 2016 I think and primaris were revealed in May 2017 from memory.
  9. Damn you BL for denying it to non-English readers.
  10. @Elarin said 29th june to release date if i remember correctly.
  11. Differences in classification methods : I haven't finished looking at all the armies you've covered, but I count Underworlds/Warcry kits separately, I don't count endless spells/faction terrains, or certain double-kits that you've counted separately (Mathlann's Eidolon springs to mind)... small differences that don't detract from the quality of your data. And it made me realise that I'd only missed the Black Ark Fleet Master or Cogsmith which have disappeared from the GW site... So thanks to you for the update !
  12. Thanks for all your hard work ! I'm doing the same kind of compilation to see how AoS range has evolved from WHB. I don't have quite the same results as you but it's interesting to see exactly where the differences are and if I've missed anything.
  13. I think we'll have the following pattern from Monday models through to the 4th edition box's reveal : 22 April : skaven model 29 April : SE model 6 May : skaven model week 16-19 May : full box reveal So we'll have had 3 units revealed for SE and skavens each before the complete box.
  14. It's 10 Warcry warbands + 1 Underworlds warband (Khagra's ravagers)
  15. These new Thunderstrike Liberators are a nice upgrade, but those oversized hammers... I know that's GW's trademark but they've outdone themselves here. I'm struggling to see anything else in this picture. I hope to change my opinion with other photos.
  16. If their sculpture is simple as a core troop, I don't think it's impossible for them to be just as many. The right balance between horde troops and paint accessibility in a launch box.
  17. I don't know how reliable this info is, but it's credible if it's made up: fighting general, wizard, core and elite troops, gunners, artillery... It's the perfect composition for a launch box. And the numbers would fit: 40 clan rats, 3 rat-ogors, 3 jezzails, 2 characters, 1 machine, that's 49 minis. Out of 74, that leaves 25 SE. Still a credible number.
  18. GW is still looking for opportunities to sell more minis. One time it will be new units, another one, old refs resculpts... Range refresh is one way of providing a new opportunity to sell and keep the business model going. That's the only thing they're concerned about.
  19. You think like a fan, whereas GW thinks like a company. SE are the ideal army for beginners : quick and easy to paint, few in number, relatively simple to play, forgiving of mistakes as you learn, and big guys in shining armour. They're the perfect army to sell when you discover the hobby. You just have to hope you're the army in front of them to get attention every 3 years. This time it's the skaven's turn. Who knows who will be the lucky one in 2027...
  20. As Orruks Warclans spot is already taken by Kruelboyz, I'm not sure GW will add an extra band with Ironjawz... I'm guessing that GW will want to give one to armies that don't already have one, like the ones you mentioned: Gloomspite, Kharadrons, Idoneth, etc. So that all AoS armies have at least one Warcry band. After all, there are only 6 factions left to fill (excluding SoB, which are separate). This can be done relatively quickly, in a year at the most, and with three boxes, it's a done deal. After that... We'll see.
  21. I have the impression that, unlike 40k, spearhead will use exactly the same core rules as basic AoS. Where combat patrol has different datasheets to the main 40k. But I could be wrong.
  22. A guy from the AoS design team talking about new rules I presume.
