  2. yeah i expected a little bit but not even more than lumineth. I think our armies now have to be designed around maximizing DP now
  3. I had honestly forgot about that as I only ever use it against none combat casters but now.... I may just use it anyway!
  4. Field control should hopefully be done with summons and the battle line I have. Hopefully with the various spell casters and fast combat units Dex,Kos,fiends I can generate enough dp to start getting out 20/30 daemonettes out to get the triple hit and rerolling 1s going. And hopefully with phantasmagoria, stare and mask I can do some decent battleshock damage with inspiring only being used on one unit . It's all just theory to be fair it may not work.

Having a free +1 dispell from the enrapturess may be pretty helpful for clearing through endless spells which will no doubt be prominent. The forced reroll + the neg from fiends may help out! It may not work but I'm trying to play with more than just invaders!
  6. I'd probably drop the warriors as they will most likely go up in points and tick you over 2k. I'd then split up the blissbarb archers. Maybe go 2x11 blissbarb 2x10 daemonettes and a unit of slickblades(these do some serious work!) as your core army and those 5 fit in the one drop!
  7. Ardboys in 5s really does sting I thought they'd be in 10s! But if our points don't change as the rumours suggest I'm a lot more comfortable with that!
  8. That has been my interpretation too with the only real way to use them is as allies. I mean if the rumours are true and chaos warriors go to 10s there's no much need for us to take them anymore anyway. I'm just gutted at no more slaaneshi beasts in matched play which with the no marked units from s2d interpretation seems to make sense !
  9. Even named characters can take the benefits from spell enhancement or extra spell enhancement.
  10. I think the Big nerf we had with the Keeper of Secrets is we can only have 1 unit per combat phase affected by the command ability so double keepers aren't really worth it anymore. Dex - well worth their points if you can keep Dex alive i can see the bonus attacks just escalating into something stupid! Syn - unfortunately not so much. The shooting is a lot better than i expected so good for depravity generation. I believe they will very much be take one or the other but not both unless you're playing 3k games. Dex, keeper, contorted, Sigvald would have probably been better! for combat heavy. Tempted to try a really heavy caster list with more spell choices and this list.
  11. @Enoby totally agree on the your take on artefacts. 5+ ward on keeper is amazing I also really rate the Arcane tome, have that on the contorted epitome that gives us a nice 3/2 caster with rerolls! Having the magic enhancement too gives all our 2 cast wizards a lot of utility. Flaming weapons on syl es or exalted chariot would be amazing. Metamorphosis on something fast to smash terrain would be great. Levitate on fiends or slickblade seekers makes them as manoeuvrable as tzeentchian discs!
  12. So had a bit of a test game of 3.0 last night. Played against Seraphon, without Kroak. I took second turn, both KOS + Sigvald went off the board. Seraphon t1 He couldn't get LOS to dex with Bastilodon and failed to cast comets call. Did a couple of MW to archers + daemonettes nothing major and killed a fiend with chameleon shooting. 3 DP Slaanesh t1 get the +1 to hit spell on the Oracle on Trog. Sigvald and KOS come on Sigvald is about 12" from the Slaan and KOS is 9" from the Bastilodon unfortunately i couldn't squeeze them in next to each other! Dex gets to within 7" of the large unit of skinks with a couple of buffs on them. Fiends get pretty close to a unit of 20 skinks. Blissbarbs and daemonettes go on to home objectives with Syn near the damaged unit of Blissbarbs. both Blissbarbs take pot shots at trog - 4 wounds Syn uses staff on bastilodon 3 wounds. Get the charge with KOS against Bastilodon - needed the reroll Roll double 6 for sigvald - moved him into the slaan, also had the temple guard and astrolith in combat with him too, suicidal maybe but a chance to wipe the slaan is needed! Fiends charge unit of skinks - they flee and I fail my charge. Dex charges the unit of 30 skinks gets peppered with shots and takes 4 wounds. KOS - Titanic duel - Locus succeeds... Bastilodon Titanic Duel Dex - Roar - Locus fails.... could have done without that Sigvald v slaan puts 8 attacks on slaan and 4 on Saurus guard both units removed. Dex v skinks - 12 wounds through on the skinks - Bastilodon v KOS - 5 wounds on keeper KOS v Basti - 4 wounds on bastilodon - both claws missed or failed to wound. 7 wounds on bastilodon total Skinks v Dex - All out defence used - 5 more wounds on dex Astrolith v Sig - 0 wounds suffered! 5 more dp Battleshock - inspiring on skinks used. Priority roll - I get priority Take the double Hero - Dex heals 2 KOS casts PoD 4 wounds back Mirror dispelled. Pavane 2 wounds on troglodon. retreat with Dex killed bastilodon with Syn shooting. Keeper fails charge into skinks who retreated. Fiends - get into unit of skinks Dex gets into skinks - unleash hell used 1 wound through to dex. Dex finishes off the skinks Astro does a wound to sigvald who killed him in return. Opponent just called it there as the dice were really not going his way. Overall interesting and with the 18" gap between armies just makes our stupidly fast stuff just really hard to avoid. probably wasn't the best showcase of the 3.0 rules but will be playing his list with my beasts soon so hopefully it goes on a bit longer!
  13. you can only use and recieve one command ability, so if a keeper gets something to fight twice and you want AOA on the keeper then Syn is perfect for this!
  14. I'd honestly prefer gnarlblade and turning into spawn when a character dies. To be fair this could be where we start seeing non greatfrey lists 😯
  15. Honestly failed so hard at this. SC box and syn/dex didn't arrive until today... So I am now painting for a tournament at end of July and have chosen beasts. So hear is the first part of my atonement!
  16. Apparently you can only issue 1 command ability per character and can only be affected by 1 command ability. Also the same command ability can't be used more than once per phase which looks like our allherd dreams are dashed
  17. The new enhancement rules on magic is very nice for a caster heavy list. As knowing 2 lore spells brings a lot to play! Master of magic command trait for a reroll and arcane tome for an extra spell means we can almost play with the big kids in magic! Also the fact that syn can throw out all out attack on an exalted chariot that's running on its own is great!
  18. We still have access to the extra run for brayherd units from the shaman. Tzaangor enlightened became probably the most reliable damage dealers we have now. Bullgors still work, just not as reliable as they currently are. Allherd becomes rather good with the abundance of command points and the command ability doesn't affect a unit so can be used multiple times. Arcane Tome new generic artefact gets us access to a 2 cast wizard finally! Gavespawn took a massive hit which is a shame as stacking cp to kill off an important unit was key. It still works just not as good as previously. We're not in the best of places but it's still workable!
  19. Well i can see why complaints happen.... I mean when we got a load of new shinies in 7th we got the razorgor.... Probably the ugliest mini currently available on gw webshop, and then being treated like the unwanted stepchild for most of aos. However I still love them, they were my first army and if the quality and style of models is going to be similar to grashaks despoilers I honestly can't wait bring on the plastic characters and bring back mhorgur in all the mutated glory!! AOS 3.0 is our time to shine, we have the cheap monsters, a lot of big monsters and MSU was pretty much our way to play anyway.

  22. Maybe..... Just maybe but I have sunk way too much time and money into beasts over the last 20 years for some subpar rules to put me off. But in all seriousness I don't dislike the book we have ATM just a few of the units need something nice. If a cygor could eat an endless Spell and unbind a spell rather than getting 2 unbinds that would be spicy and make them worth taking with the new endless Spell rules. I'd also love us to have a priest type model maybe even expand the bull hero line with a Bullseer or something like that.
