  1. Greetings, chosen warriors and mages of Hysh!

Rumour has it, that there might be a new battletome coming for us Lumineth as soon as Autumn! So I think this is the right time to maybe discuss the changes and new heroes/units we would like to see.

I for one would like some tweeks to the Stoneguard's mounrain stance. As it works right now, they may just declare and are able to ignore rend -1 (and -2 if from Ymetrica). I personally would like it more if that rule seperated from the stance. The stance would remain, could be declared at the beginning of the movement phase, and would grant a safe reroll in exchange for the ability to run or change.

Of course it would be amazing if we got the River temple which would mean 1 mage hero, 1 unit, 1 monster and a character version if said monster! For a unit I would like something with two daggers that's maybe harder to hit if they attacked in the same round. Lumineth's version of Witch Aelfs maybe?

Would love to read your thoughts! 😊

I'm gone a while and upon my return HollowHills has become the new Whitefang - how much have I really missed in my absence 😩

But if she's correct, at least it'll spice up the thread as the Cult of the Bleached Fang faces the Hollow Hill Orthodoxy.

    I still stand with #PUDAnon.

Lumineth Book after Skaven and Sylvaneth

Can you give a source? Also Whitefang liked this, so... Oh my god, it can't be true, right? All the salt that TGA will produce will bathe this forum in glorious, crystaline white..

That makes sense, but I can't imagine Horns of Hashut being actual soldiers  in the sense of infantry. They seem to be a vanguard unit of armed workers or slaves even, who worship certain aspects of their deity:

I don't know. That quote actually gives them too much agency and desire aligned with that of their deity to be considered mere slaves or workers. Also the title: Horns of Hashut. One would assume the horns of a horned deity are a body part that carries great honour and importance.

If there will be Chaos Duardin infantry (and I kind of doubt that) they will probably be equipped with some sort ranged weapons. Maybe something like Chaos Space Marine havocs.

  5. I guess if Chorfs aren't the chaff grunts (that'd be Hobgrotz) and aren't the soldiers (Horns of Hashut) and also not the monsters (Centaurion) of the Hashut faction they basically have to be the leaders, sorcerers and engineers. Thus living up to the 'dark masters' moniker from the Hobgrotz lore part.

I know right? Someone clearly has the book given that Draichi Ganeth Witch Aelf leak we saw, and the Nighthaunt book has been completely leaked already. What's the hold up? 😪

I wish I had a reason to be as excited about the upcoming Daughters of Khaine tome as I am about Sylvaneth. These single hero releases are really brutal.

  7. I am very, very happy with the new Sylvaneth stuff! They get a new clean battletome with all the rules in it, which is great. The tome doesn't get a new cover but that's not too bad because the cover with the Archrevenant on it is excellent. And the insect and Revenant aesthetics are my favourite part of the army looks-wise so both the flying archers as well as the bug riders are a huge win in my book! The Lady is starting to grow on me as well. :)

And also no Kurnothi, which I like as well, because in my humble opinion Sylvaneth aren't in any need of hooves or Fyreslayer haircuts.

So I will definitely get the tome and maybe build an actual army if I ever manage to finish my Ymetrica forces. 😅

You’re point on symmetry is a good one. But although Teclis was the one who set up the temples but Tyrion was the first to commune with a realm sprit (if that’s what it was), so I don’t think he’s less involved with them than Teclis.

And sorry to burst your bubble but has Tyrion appears very briefly in AoS he’s given he/him pronouns 😅. For example in the conversation with Grungni at the Dawn of the Age of Chaos in a short story in White Dwarf 465.

”The aelf looked over the crowds, his vantage taking in the entire sea of heads and the jagged peaks of the mountainous vista beyond the precipice. His helm swayed lightly, side to side, like a blind man trying to fix something in his mind. ”

Edit: Oh, plus Nagash and Teclis both refer to him as Teclis’ brother in Broken realms: Teclis.

No worries, there are no bursted bubbles on my part whatsoever. I know Tyrion is already male-coded in AOS. But I still think it would have been interesting, hence my use of conditional in my original post. 😊

But wasn't Teclis the one who was the literal champion of the Goddess of the moon? therefore the most likely to be transitioned? IDk I'm a tomb king, not slaanesh (though I do dabble).... @Enoby and @CeleFAZE what do you two fine hedonites think?

True, and that was my first idea as well, but since Alarielle and Morathi are already more mages than warriors, I thought it would be a little more interesting if it were the sun knight type instead of the moon mage to represent the female.

Lumineth as the Autumn Order tome wouldn’t be surprising, as they’re the only Order army without a 3rd edition tome or an update in White Dwarf. They don’t really need any more single heroes other than the River and Zenith mages. But at the very least I’d hope they get a new cover…

If River Temple is coming it would likely be three kits like the Mountain and Wind temples. A mage, a unit and a sprit. It wouldn’t surprise me if Tyrion doesn’t make an appearance until quite a bit later as I’d hazard a guess he’s more closely related to the Zenith temple who were described the least in their first tome.

The Zenith is likely the most important temple. The Zenith itself appears to essentially be were the light of Hysh comes from, so basically the sun of the Realm of Light. And there’s evidence to suggest that Tyrion is associated with sun symbols and a phoenix in a similar fashion Teclis is associated with a moon and the Celennar. A phoenix would make sense for the Zenith spirit.

Tyrion first woke up alone in Hysh and wandered to the realm edge communicated with a mysterious being there and then woke up with Teclis back in the center of the realm. The being was likely Asuran who in the Old World was the head of the elven pantheon associated with a phoenix, holy fire and was married to the moon goddess who made Teclis’ staff.

However saying that, I could be completely wrong. And I’d be up for a huge new wave with all of that.

Interesting take. I personally do not believe that the Zenith temple will be that much elevated on contrast to the other three since Lumineth and the realm of Hysh are about symmetry and balance. This is very much examplified by the outline of the Lumineth realm and its culture: two twin gods, four Aelementiri temples, eight Great Nations (which are equally shared between the two brothers). Teclis himself emulates this symmetry in his equal mastery of the four elements, smybolized by the discs adorning his belt.

On the other hand you are of course very much right when you point out the obvious connection both Tyrion and the Zenith temple have to the concept of light. I for one eould hope that Tyrion's sun is somewhat different from the Zenith's light.

And it looks like this cherished balance of mine will be challenged by the fact that I expect each of the two temples which are left will be connected to a Nation (like Mountain is connected to Ymetrica and Wind is connected to Helon). And this would mean that three of the Tyrionic Nations and just one of the Tecleian Nations have connections to elements. And I'm not happy about that since Teclis is supposed to be the Aelementiri guy. He invented them.

Btw, hear me out ... For the sake of balance, symmetry and equality in the Lumineth... I think it would have been cool if Tyrion had been reborn as a woman.

I agree wi the @Enoby, the Sylvaneth reveals today were pretty amazing, but that only made everything else feel a bit lackluster. I’m mostly mad at the lack of Slaves to Darkness reveals, there were so many leaks last week it felt like GW had to skip a whole segment of Warhammer Fest last Friday. Now I know that the road map said that Slaves are the Winter battletome, but that line of logic didn’t stop them from previewing Cities of Sigmar or World Eaters (who are both still in the concept phase)!

Regarding the speed with which they realize 40K projects I wouldn't be suprised at all if World Eaters appear way before Cities of Sigmar 2.0. Maybe early 2023?

  12. At least the Sylvaneth tome cover is really good, so I'm glad they didn't give them am ugly one, like they did with Maggotkin.

Sylvaneth models are really cool, maybe except the Lady of Vines. She might look cooler with different colors though

And I'm genuinely sad for all you rat fans atound here. I personally never liked Skaven very much but you really, really deserved some love from GW.

  13. Have to say that Chaos Space Marines are a lot more Chaos and less Space Marines now, if that makes any sense. More twisted, horrifying and insane and less tactical and military. So more befitting Word Bearers and less Iron Warriors or Alpha Legion.

The new demon prince looks dumb. Like a half godzilla monster half wrestling reject. Not scary at all just goofy and dumb looking.

Interesting. I don't agree at all, though I guess the mouth might not be everyone's cup of tea. Care to share what other aspects of the mini you find irritating and would have designed differently? I personally think they are pretty amazing and tick all the boxes: wings, horns, hooves, menacing weapon and armor..

The community article mentions there's 'more than meets the eye' so maybe they'll be highly customizable?

On a different note: little sad to see there are still some confused reactions to the compilation of gender or 'race' diversity as well as queer representation in AOS.

  15. I don't think that there'll be a new faction for Destruction. There probably won't be any larger releases until Slaves to Darkness hit in Winter. I guess Sylvaneth will show the upper end of how much new stuff Destruction can expect.

    Humans innit.

always trying to be something else.  Do your lot prototype their helmets with inflatable party balloons to get the shape?

Yes, basically. It's a craft and an art that requires several decades of learning to be brought to perfection. And also floating crystals.

  17. I'm sorry @Kaleb Daark , I'm just not impressed. Someone needs to teach those brutes that horns go on the helmets, not on the shoulders. And who needs something as inadequate and insufficient as a 'flamehurler' of sorts if well-trained Sentinels or a storm of searing white light do a much better and far more elegant job?! And due to these ugly helmets one can't even tell whether they are smiling or not.

As with all those pathetic mortals clamoring for the grace of insane gods these still have a lot to learn but unfortunately lack the mental capacity to do so.

One of the witch elves is male now?

In the underworlds warband, the unit description says “Drusylla and Valyssa, two former witch aelves...” and looking at the models, one of the melee elves appears to be male. Or it might be the paintjob.

I think the upper one is the witch aelf, since they have the thigh high boots and two daggers, while the one with cloth in front of their mouth has a crossbow and appears to be a little closer to regular Shadowstalkers.
