  1. I agree, we should send it out at the very beginning of May.

Anything beyond that is a waste of survey. In truth, I think that whoever wanted to take a survey, probably has already done that. Now, there is good possibility that some people take the survey and simply troll us. I did saw someone write something like that on /tg/, so maybe a few more days and close it.

With the sheer number of factions I wonder if 3.0 will be a period of some consolidation. Both their games are reaching a near breaking point in simply getting everyone updated during an edition.

Some factions like Skaven are honestly in a dire need of massive update.

Tbh I find most implementations of animal men/centaurs/etc - WoW worgen, Garou from WoD, the Circle Orboros from Hordes, etc - to be boring and actively edging into the cringey when they pull on an imaginary nature-loving ‘Celtic’ set of tropes, so YMMV on what’s interesting.

It’ll depend on the execution ultimately, as these things usually do.

Agreed with all but the Circle Orboros, as they are the exception.

If you read the various lore books Privateer Press published, they are the penultimate embodiment of "Green Mother Earth...red in tooth and claw".

I read it on a lore wiki, but the source is dark harvest chapter 15, although it's marked as a legend. Assuming the legend is true the kurnoth that was slain by nurgle would've been the one grown from the original one's heart.

Indeed, the Kurnoth slain by legions of Nurgle was a copy of the original Kurnoth.

But the Kurnothi are not extinct and the Kragnos' people had gone.

Who would imprison an ORDER God?.

Ghur was originally a Realm ruled by proud hunter kings and beast lords before Orruks came, this is canon. Written in Orruk battletome.

So Kragnos could be refering to those people who once ruled Ghur, these hunter kings and beast lords. Maybe he was their king?

Also, Alarielle imprisoned Kurnoth, flayed him alive and tore out his heart. Read the Dark Harvest.

It is an oversaturated image, I don't think it indicates anything. A red mane is present in a lot of factions, e.g. Bonesplitterz, and the Kurnothi don't wear any Emerald ornaments. 😅

Emerald would fit the whole nature vibe. Red mane is seen in ALL members of Skaeth Wild Hunt.

I think that image is, in fact, a very good confirmation that we are getting a Kurnothi faction. Awesome!

But mainly as having just read BR Teclis that would then obviously tie in to every single thing that came out of Alarielle's mouth in that book, I mean they didn't exactly go subtle mode there. Anyway we shall see...

Absolutely, given Alarielle comments and the bright up image of Kragnos, I am 90% certain he will be Kurnothi leader.

It’s nothing fancy, but I brightened up the image to see if there was anything lurking. If it is Kragnos, it turns out he’s a red head...I’m not saying he’s Kurnothi but it very difficult not to draw comparisons.

    Red mane?

    Emerald ornaments?

Kurnothi through and through, I am beyond delighted!

I want these guys to feel like the child of an actual Chaos God - absolutely insane, but priced for it. At the same time, it would be cool to take two of them so if they're 500pts+ that's probably not realistically possible.

This is my fear, since we all thought that the Newborn was going to be a single model, now it is two.

They are actual children of Slaanesh, they should be in terms of power comparable to playable deities of AoS.

But if they are brought up to power and cost (500pts+ each) of playable deities, then that means that the rest of your army is going to be very, very small.

The new models are stunning, though I can't help but be mildly disappointed that the chosen form of the Newborn is kinda similar to the look of the KoS, I was hoping for something a little more, I don't know, protean, maybe?

I love the look of the peacock wings, and the head sculpts are great.  Feels like the combat one could do with some more weapons in all those hands, but they still both look sweet.

The models are beautiful, but I agree that their forms are at core a variation of KoS. I was hoping for the Newborn to be a unique creation on its own.

I'm hoping to write the draft survey tonight or tomorrow, which I'll wait for feedback before releasing a proper one. After that, I don't mind waiting for the SGL battetome until sending in any, just in case we're wrong :)

Just did a bit of work on Glutos

I love the black marble with white veins aesthetic you are going for, please do post more as you finish Glutos.

You did a excellent job on phrasing questions,  so the draft survey should be very accurate in my humble opinion. Of course, I am hoping our fellow Hedonites here give their feedback too.

What do you expect of Soulblight?

I apologize for my late reply but I think the poll is a very good way forward.

I made a post where I tagged people who expressed to various degrees their grievances with our new rules, there were quite a lot of them. Since that post, more people followed. In the last pages of this thread, we have more people stating their opinions, which also end up more negative. All in all,  our release was handled quite poorly, from rules to absence of new fiction book (Lumineth got 3 full novels, we zero).

But we got very beautiful models, very few can compete with us.  That is what matters the most. Rules are temporary, models are forever.

I am continuing to play and my win rate is steadily increasing, but I stay clear of what I wish to play the most, Nobles of Excess and Slaangors. Looking around various websites, I do see a rather uniform opinion that Slaangors, Painbringers and Twinsouls need to be priority.

The biggest problem with the narrative is Warhammer books is that a majority of it focuses around the battles. It is a wargame, but when reading fiction, you need strong characters you can relate to, love, hate, or simply understand. You don't get much of that in Teclis. Morathi BR definitely had more interesting characters who you understood and rooted for.

Teclis is the "protagonist" of the latest BR book, but he's not relatable at all---whether intentionally or not, it makes for someone we don't particularly care about. He's too infallible; too "godly" with no personality to make up for it. The other main characters in the book are given brief histories and descriptions, but other than their grand war plans, we experience nothing, and learn nothing from them. Alarielle is probably the most interesting character in the story, and she's not even really in it, only appearing in side-blurbs with Teclis.

There are a handful of fun excerpts: The Archregent who ruined everything, Alarielle's fight against Nurgle, the lands at the edge of Hysh...

Overall, it was alright. Nagash clearly isn't actually dead, so the whole thing does feel a bit like the end of an Inspector Gadget cartoon, "I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME GADGET!" Too much of it revolved around venerating the Elf-lads, even if it was their book. Not much else happens other than Lumineth v. Undead. The outcome is difficult to gauge; it's more ambiguous than the direct consequences of Morathi's ascension.

The most intriguing tidbit - What is Tyrion fighting against that's worse than Nagash?

    Slaanesh and/or the Newborn.

I finished the book, personally BR Morathi was far better written in my opinion.

"You uncultured swine, let me put you in a cage, rip your skin off and eat your heart. You know, like civilized people."

Alarielle is a vain and fickle goddess, Kurnoth systematically comes as brutally honest to main character in the book.

I've read it, the Kurnothi followers were Sylvaneth too, not all the Sylvaneth were fans of Alarielle

Still, it does not change the fact that followers of Kurnoth kill followers of Alarielle on sight, and vica versa. Even humans devoted to one of them kill each other in Dark Harvest.
