  1. You should read their rules on Aetheric Channeling (empower the shields = rerolls to save). Also, you can keep the shields as long as you like - to the last man if you want. Lastly, you should see what other armies get for 120pts. Sequitors are extremely good value IMHO.
  2. I think Executioners are amazing already, but is there any way of getting them +1 to hit apart from the Hurricanum?
  3. Heh, ditto. I'm doing 4 sword 6 stave (and Staunch Defender... and Warding Lantern...)
  4. Yeah, really I like Hurricanes and Celestial Vindicators Sequitors for this one (Protectors do a fun "super-explode" on the right target, but it's not the most efficient usage).
  5. I think it might be worthwhile combining your Palladors to make the most of the Shadowhammers battalion ability. I think in units of 6 they are much more difficult to put down or ignore. 30 wounds-worth of fast shooty guys in the enemy backfield can really mess things up. But test your lists and play a few games and have fun with it. I think all the crazy teleportation that the Aquilor provides takes some practice to master... I also reckon don't get too hung up on the new shiny stuff like masses of Sequitors. After all, you can always add them later. If you really feel like you're missing out, just get some super cheap split box deals on eBay.
  6. lol that's more than my Khorne lists, and these guys can reroll 4+... Damn...
  7. Gav is great, but why can't we use Cogs and either Lightning Speed or Vexillor?
  8. Everyone seems to be using Anvils of the Heldenhammer Stormhost for missile-centric lists. To me it seems just as tempting to save up a command point or two and blow it on a unit of 10 Evocators AND a unit of 20 Sequitors. Celestial Lightning Arc x2 is just horrifying, and the Sequitors' 9 Grandmaces should rack up huge amounts of damage with all their rerolls etc. I think I'll try this a few times and just let Ballistas try their luck as my sole shooting (dropping out of Azyr).
  9. Yeah, 12" is poor range, but from my perspective these are issues for deployment. Sending a Judicator unit in alone is obviously going to result in them getting creamed. But I've usually 11-12 drops in every list I write now. I've also got 3 Ballistae dropping out of Azyr, a cheapish little screener and sometimes a blob of Evocators. Judicators can still shoot from behind a screen in deepstrike. That gang of units can annihilate a flank pretty handily in my experience.
  10. The crossbow Judicators are much improved now IMHO. First and foremost, they have an extra attack and can be deployed within range via Scions. Secondly, there's a lot more units running around with rend immunity, so this weakness is less of a factor. At 3+ to hit, they have good synergy with Knights Azyros who may already be buffing a bunch of Ballistae or Sequitors. 2s on the dice are still a dead roll, but much better than, say, rerolling 1s on a 4+ to hit (Hurricane Raptors). The unit superweapon's 1d3 guaranteed mortal wounds against units of 6+ is handy. Decent range too, at 18".
  11. I'm new to Stormcast, and this thread/community, but really impressed with the acuity, analysis and attitude of the vets. Also very impressed by the army's versatility and quality. Really easy to build and deploy a list that enjoys 3+ or better, and/or dishes out heaps of mortal wounds at range (and spells and effects with infinite range!). I've got the models for, and have started assembling, this list. Hoping to take it to the biggest Aussie tournament in January. 12. I don't think it's controversial. They didn't move in the movement phase. Go for gold mate.
  13. What do you mean mate? Sorry, I'm not really deep into Stormcast fluff yet, but what's un-thematic about the Gryph-charger?
  14. Isn't that list a little bit illegal coz of the General and Battleline? I've been trying to work out how to get the Dracoth Lord involved in some lists too. Such a cool mini, and mine has a sweet shield from the Fulmis kit.
  15. Yeah, I dig the Knight Azyros too. I think the Archmage is great value, for his spell, which can make those big blocks of Dreadspears etc even harder to shift.
  16. Sorry if I've missed something obvious, but how do you get Execs to pile-in twice??
  17. My apologies mate. I totally misinterpreted you saying "I love them!"
  18. No offence, but how can you be comfortable playing them this way when it's obviously an error?
  19. I don't think I'll ever take a full unit, but I'll gladly take the Castellant freebie for board control and anti-teleportation from Warning Cry.
  20. It also means less units affected. Damn. I was always tagging 2 x Skullreapers and 1 horde unit with Slaughter Incarnate...
  21. I'm pretty sure the 400pt named Khorne Daemon Prince whose COMMAND ability allows 1 unit to reroll 1s to wound would disagree with you. Infact, I'm sure there are many armies who would love an ability like CotS that you can use up to 10 times a game without rolling a single die. Gotta keep things in perspective mate...
  22. Cool. Nice little bump in versatility for Evocators, and some sanity RE command abilities.
  23. How about a Dark Eldar Clawed Fiend? He's even got a whip-tail that could represent his tentacle attacks. I have no idea how big those guys are though...
  24. Haha, I knew a guy who converted up and painted 90 of the buggers. He was a full-blown WAACer, and cried for years after they got nerfed.
  25. For sure. They're 100pts and 4+ with a little unit superweapon. They fly and shoot and do long charges. I'm not sure what people can reasonably expect of them beyond that.
