ye u migth be rigth, just trying to think of ways to improve on the current case of Magneto dressed up as a nun.. and with the proper paint scheme and accessories (staff, mirrors etc) I think you could sell the effect of God of Light and Magic with this sculpt as the base..

my plan for the blades will be to paint a red/orange/yellow "power sword effect" (there are plenty of tutorials on such on youtube). and I will do it only on maybe 1 in 3 or 1 in 4. that way it saves a lot of time and my hypothesis is that it will look cool in the unit with some of then flashing like the sunmetal ability triggered

i would go with something neutral to not introduce more colours so probably grey or a dark brown well done on warden!

quite sure only heroes get the extra spell but the zaitrec +1 cast bonus will for sure help as it's an 8 cast spell

you got the colorshift on these working really well, what brand was that? I've tried the GSW ones but didn't get quite as prominent effect as this

you migth also want to consider swapping reavers for thralls, then you can start off a start collecting box. personally I don't find the thralls particularly competitive but they look cool and gives you at least something apart from eels

what about horses or sheep, to keep the domestic animal theme spinning? a pig is probably a stretch for an elven faction, even in AOS 😂

just go with the latest Lumineth! (or I guess Sons of Behemat if you are indecisive for another month or so) and they have the coolest dice set lol on more serious note, I would watch some of these army over view videos on youtube (as linked above) and it sounds like you are more on the hobby/painting side vs the gaming side anyways so probably rule of cool is not a bad idea in your case. the meta shifts every 6months or so anyways so if you only play a couple of games / year realistically you should probably let the hobby aspect of it guide you, would be my advice Cheers

yep would seem quite tricky, haven't looked close at the sprue but was kinda thinking it migth require a completely different model for the body, eg something modelled as a rider and then use the signature stuff from teclis like staff etc

ye with the addition that he needs to be in range, if harvester is in range of all 10, then yes. if harvester is in range of e.g. 1, then you need to allocate and save for that one (ie do the saves one by one), as long as he succeeds he can bring that guy back again and again but if he fails the roll that model is removed and harvester would no longer be in range. in rules context harvester triggers of models (not units) in 3" dying. And wounds are allocated 1 at a time (pg 7 in core rules) cheers

to add to this comment, the solar flare spell also hit your own wizard, ie 12" bubble of -2 cast at 10" cast range so a bit of a double edge there, and it cant both dispel and do MW dmg as there cant be a unit and an endless spell on the same point of the map. I kinda agree with most here, the army has strengths but far from over powered. could have been way way worse given the dollar price point GW placed them at 😂

agree, interesting to see.. but would guess there is a strong enough core fanbase of ppl who like the aelven aesthetic for it to be a fairly safe bet.. but who knows (probably GW actually 😂).. re warscrolls, agree that its few but the saving grace as others pointed out that they all seem pretty useful, I dont think anyone would really cry over the idoneth soulrender if he went missing from that tome e.g... and also dont forget we get an Underworlds warband already in Dec! (and some of those seem to have some use also in AOS)

ye i reinforced by a thin piece of cardboard underneath. these rubber sheets had an adhesive side to them. ofc cutting actual metal sheet would be stiffer still but also obv much more work and require proper tools. you could also buy actual mini mag trays ofc but I liked the ability to customize
