  1. Run them your army as Gavspawn and when you get turned into a chaos spawn it will be a blessing... that kinda three dimensional chess will get you promoted to a Tzeentch Demon Prince so you'd be Spawnprince! But as someone that can barely afford one army developing a narrative around opposing factions has been one of my favourite aspects of the hobby. The conflict between my Slaves to Darkness, Stormcast, and Ogors has become a really fun world to play within and the fact that I developed a narrative in which each army feels justified makes it more fun to play these engagements from different angles. I have been really considering getting some Khorne and Slaanesh demons to my Slaves to Darkness to have a schism within my undivided army with growing factions of dissent and also to put me in a position to start a Legion of the First Prince or 40k Demon army. Sadly I can no longer find Wrath and Rapture anywhere at retail price. 😢 @Nos' is firing on all cylinders on this project and I cannot wait to see that Mega Gargant!
  2. I made a nurgle marked beast mage in WHFB and painted it like a skunk when I was a teenager. I will always think of Pestigors as Skunks 😆
  3. The real question, is it even possible to improve on the Harbringer of Decay? I didn't think they would have improved on Kroak and Be'Lakor and I was gladly proven wrong, so lets see if they can do with the best extant resin Chaos lord. Although, I still want ol' Vardek Crom to get an updated plastic model in the style of Sigvald.
  4. Wow I might break my 40k ban for that Custodes vs GSC boxset. Also I am sad as the Warpsmith implies we are not getting a standalone Dark mechanics set anytime soon... oh well I will put my non existent Darkmech money towards some Varanguard, Smug the Dragon, Be'lakor or some other AOS model that was way beyond my price range
  5. I also live in the Chaos Canadian Wastes and I have seen White Dwarf at Indigo. I do not know if it is kept regularly stocked though.
  6. It is funny I only use warcry models for rally the tribes and enjoy them for that reason... like a bunch of random heavily armed psychos that don't have marks just showing up on a battlefield and seeing hulking viking knights and thinking... I think I will take their side in this fight. 😉 But yes other than that one aspect making me laugh it is a really stupid oversight and I already think Idolators proved they will be moving away from that.
  7. I am tempted, it will be my first white dwarf since I was a teenager. I really hope that they eventually update the Eye of the Gods Table. I think it would be cool if it worked on a point system like the other Chaos factions and depending on the mark of the general they would follow the basic point proceeder of their associated god. Undivided will need a new method for gaining points as slaying a hero/monster is a pretty inconsistent way to generate points. What would happen is that as you gained points you could spend them on the chart for your chosen blessing. I would update spawndom to retain the flavour of the original, but function as an upgrade by following the rules of Gift of Morghur, namely if the hero is slain they are replaced by a spawn. I would think of it as their failure is punished by the gods by turning them into a spawn a fate worse than death if you are not already a Beast.
  8. I mean that is why I am distancing myself from rading tea leaves these days, everything looked like swamp debris so I assumed Kruelboyz were inbound.
  9. Most people here just summon @Whitefang! Although, personally I much prefer to not bother our generous patron sage and rely on augury: 'Ah there are birds outside, I guess that means that there will be yet another new space marine model announced'.
  10. Dude holding the tree and dagger in the front on the left... it is funny that they used the same dude for two different rumour engines that I was so certain were for AOS and he is such an unmitakably 40k model 😆
  11. I do not personally play 40k and find the medieval to science fiction ratio to always be a little confusing especially when it comes to rumour engines. This is a perfect example, as to me this seems like an AOS model but I typically see people assuming it will be 40K related: Meanwhile I had naturally assumed that these were Age of Sigmar related rumour engines but they were all 40k related:
  12. Aren't Chaos Chosen also an option in 40K? I really hope lore/model wise that they update Chosen to be unmounted Varanguard.
  13. I could not think of any two members more deserving than @Enoby & @KingBrodd ❤️ Much love to you both!
  14. @ManlyMuppet88 is correct it is an old chaos spawn model and a fantastic one at that. If you want to use it as a demon it would make a pretty dope Demon Prince!
  15. That would make an amazing starter set actually! Here are some possible expansions, I tried to represent different facets of each grand alliance while expanding on your initial choices which I am imagining as the basis of a core set. I also tried to have a mixture of ships, aerieal units and monsters all of which would have advantages and disadvantages: Order: Stromcast Drake, Kharadron Battleship, Idoneth Giant Leviadon, Idoneth Kraken, Dispossessed Man of War Chaos: Bloodthirster, Lord of Change, Darkoath Longship, Skaven Brig, Furnace King Demonic Barge Death: Ghostly Galleon, Vampire Coast flagship, Skeletal Hydra, Zombie Cetacean, Flesh Eater Galley Destruction: Grotbagscuttler skycruiser, Wading Gargant, Hobgrot Schooner, Ogor Pirate Ship, Orruk Wyverns
  16. Wow they are all fantastic! But this Ghostly Galleon makes my Nautical Nighthaunt dreams feel more appropriate. I watched one batrep featuring Dread Fleet and it seemed like a really fun time. However the limited support and appeal towards the board game market seem to have done it no favours. However, I think the points you make about its relationship to AOS and the increased support for board games make a possible return much more exciting. Throwing it out there what factions would people want to see in a new Dread Fleet boxset? I think this would definitely be a good place to emphasize the Grand Alliances by creating 4 fleet boxes with five starter ships each.
  17. In addition it is important to actually try out the rules. I often find people are very reactionary to reading rules but then when it is tried in practice things do not end up as bad. But I am often naively optimistic and don't play competitively so I could be wrong.
  18. ^Actual footage of Games Workshop developing Sylvaneth rules.
  19. @Loyal Son of Khemri please make that thread, I would love to learn more about the lore of your factions and contribute and workshop some of my own developing narrative ideas. Although most of my stories focus on the ascension of champions of order and chaos a struggle towards demigodhoos, with my frost elemental ogors representing an animistic and mundane middleground. In essence I see the binaristic battle of light and dark crusaders as a destructive anthropocentric force with a middle path represented by the natural and enlightened lifestyle of the Snuffaluffagus riders! @GreyshadowWell that was unexpected and entirely amazing! I hope you can regale us landlubber's with more of these spectacular sea battles! I also would love to see more photos as your fleet looks unbelievable! 🤩 The idea of ballistas attacking sea and land is inspired. I would love to try this out as a 2v2 communicating between sea and land! 😄
  20. I love house rules and often use them for balance or fluff purposes. One house rule that I always use is that terrain effects are not randomized but determined by the actual terrain. A holy statue is inspiring, a pit of lava is deadly. This gets really fun when something like a massive skull is inspiring to Death Armies and Sinister to Order. We also often fine tune balance based on player skill level and familiarity. So for example certain subfactions or battalions may not be used against certain opponents or armies but are fair game against others. After enough close games we will fine tune our lists more and more. I think the new batallions will be a nice way to create such internal balances.
  21. That sounds amazing! I feel like you could develop an actual ongoing narrative with this theme for Black Library. I hope that you one day fit IDK into this narrative as they have a really cool range of models and your imagination and narrative could really make them fit into the story in a dramatic fashion. I am imagining them as protectors of the goddess or vicious pirates that are a perpetual throne in the side of the other armies. The theme and setting for my armies is set in frozen wastes, it focus' on an ideological conflict between an army that lead a crusade against chaos and were corrupted in the process. The few faithful died and were then chosen by Sigmar to fight against the threat of their former comrades. The city from which the crusaders left has fallen to ruin and become the home of Ogors, they are nomadic folk that traded with the city dwellers in the past, one day they came to trade with the people and found the city abandoned, but are now accused of destroying the home of the crusaders. Finally, if I ever create a fourth army it will be a death faction to represent the city abandoned by the crusaders... rather than dying to the ogors they were taken captive by Corsairs and then their arks sunk into the frozen depths and now they haunt the lands in search of the warriors that abandoned their home.
  22. If not for COVID/Brexit related delays I choose to believe we'd be playing with Furnace Kings vs Umbraneth Shadowlords... 😢 But in reality the articles being focused on Kill Team and Warhammer+ are of no interest to me but they make sense especially considering that there seems to be an internal delay for SCE and Kruelboyz. So I feel like we have an additional week or two of content for those two armies before building to the next AOS release. I do wish that in the meantime they would at least give us something, even if it was an army showcase or lore article as it does feel like we are getting nothing at all.
  23. I am going to amend my previous statement, as I think Ogor Mawtribes/Beastclaw Raiders should ride massive Walrus in the oceans!
  24. I would love to see your fleet and to hear how you incorporate naval battles into your campaings. I could see using naval battles as great means of controlling territory but also having an impact on supply lines (maybe effecting the amount of artifacts) and reinforcements (cannot deepstrike units in turn one). I also really hope we get an update of dreadfleet within AOS. I can imagine KO having a lot of strengths with a flying force, and would love to see mini Leviadons. I imagine windbased magic being essential so Lumineth would be a very fluffy and powerful force.
