  1. It will be Pestigors and I will be vindicated... 😼
  2. Everyone is talking about stocks and I am sitting here like:
  3. I still think the narrative is leaning towards Duardin soup. I am still hoping that we get an update on the classical dwarf theme with a female/valkyrie army that worships Valaya. I think they'd include a unit of infantry (winged spears and round sheilds), Flying cavalry (Ranged and Melee), Artillery Piece and a Few Heroes. Overall I could see it being a small subfaction and then they could hopefully increase the number of the other Duardin factions by a unit or two. As for the cavalry I want them to be adorable winged ponies because for all the creativity of AOS I want some more fun things. As for my top pick for the other Duardin Subfactions: Fyerslayer: Magmadroth Chariot Dispossesed: Mechanical Golem Kharadron: Piloted Mech Behemoth for Close Combat (Thinking of Escaflowne here)
  4. If it is Slaanesh and comes with a Keeper of Secrets it would likely be an instant purchase for me. Although, I am hoping for Flesh Eater Courts and I can genuinely only afford one so it would be down to the contents of the box. 🤩 My personal guesses are that we will get: Space Marines x2 (Lets randomly say Dark Angels and White Scars), Eldar, Sisters of Battle, Thousand Sons, Necrons Lumineth, Ironjawz, Hedonites, Ossiarch Bone Reapers
  5. Wow, I have the day off today and I have been busy painting terrain so I didn't check the previews yet. Seeing this pop up in my notifications was a great surprise. The Necromunda models are also fantastic, I saw them when they were initially revealed but they surprised me at how cool they look. The battleforces are also terrific news, I held off on Redharvest so lets hope we get a cool God Specific faction or a nice Death Box... although my 40k temptations are getting worse and Sisters of Battle, Necrons or Admech could break my will. As for Holga Clovenhorn:
  6. I love that Games Workshop has tried countless times to make Empire vs Orcs a thing, then Stormcast vs Chaos. But we all know that the most iconic duo are the true conflict of both the old world and the new. Rats vs Lizards a tale as old as time. I actually do think that these two factions set the template for AOS, both creative takes on classic concepts mixing the fantastic with real world elements but then made significantly more unique and creative through the influences of sculptors and lore writers.
  7. I mean the development of Old World and TWW3 seem very deeply interlinked. It seems to me that as the success of Total War Warhammer has evolved the relationship with Games Workshop has become much stronger. I can imagine the choice of Kislev being something that would be worked out alongside eachother. Wasn't there also even an article stating that GW had access to all the model files that Creative Assembly developed? I think it was sometime during the Kislev announcement but it could have been someone speculating on this forum... All of this is to say, that I am desperately hoping for some Tzeentch Cavalry.
  8. Wow I genuinely love your approach and the amount of research you put into your lore and narrative. It is particularly great as you kind of took a different path of storytelling, where for me the concept of these gods are simply archetypes to be understood through the haze of stories and legends long lost to time yours is one in which they function as the metaphysical foundation for your army. Brilliant, brilliant work my friend! I would love to hear about Darkoath Warqueen Elsar Ragnarsdottir encountering some Slaaneshi Pretenders. Ostensibly they share a goal of ascension but hers is one that is based around strict dogmatic belief in an elder chaos pantheon... whereas the Pretenders are looking to fill a vacuum in the absence of their God. I feel like this could lead to a lot of alliances but also a deep mistrust. I also love that your friends all have a shared objective within your lore. For my friends, we have developed a shared continent in which each of our armies have distinctive national borders and there are internal and external conflicts. Essentially I wanted to develop a massive sprawling setting in which we could develop narratives but also keep our own internal logic to have narratives for our own collections of minis.
  9. Wow this is a terrific idea, are you using Warcry Warbands? I feel like the Iron Golems seem like they are likely worshipers of Hashut. Are you using the Chaos Dwarves as proxies for Chaos Warriors? I feel like this force is something Be'Lakor would likely want to dip his shadowy talons into particularly if they can upend the status quo in the eight points. I also wish them luck in taking down Archaon even though it means they'd technically come into conflict with my own army... that is if my army can ever find the time to leave the fictional region I developed for my lore and the neighbouring regions of my friends armies.
  10. As someone that is fine with someone using a beverage can as a Greater Demon I can unequivocally state that I will absolutely support people using Old World in AOS even if they were 'true' scale and looked odd with the 'heroic' scale models. Less barriers not more barriers.
  11. After generations of worshipping Sigmar one member of this house betrays his beliefs and joins the forces of Chaos. This brings him in direct conflict with his angelic ancestors. As angelic paladins and demonic knights fight across the realms, the remaining members of the House choose to follow a new God... making a pact with the Lord of Death. Meanwhile a tribe of nomadic Ogors resists this conflict by defending their ancestral lands against Heaven, Hell and the Vengeful Spirits caught in between. Essentially I wanted to develop a narrative incorporating all four Grand Alliances, but have not solidified Nagash's involvement, beyond the idea that it would be tragic if the conflict resulted in the original civilization being lost in the conflict and returning as angry spirits of vengeance. I wanted to emphasize that even a fight between 'heaven and hell' will still hurt those caught in the middle. So, in summation 'the Noble house' fell to Chaos and Nagash... but the individual members fall to either Chaos or Nagash. I will eventually post a more fully realized version of my narrative into the Narrative and Open Play section. Now back to rumours. @JackStreicher this rule that you saw rumoured is it specific to a faction? It sounds like it could be an addition to the Nighthaunt as a form of ethereal attack... 👻
  12. I had somehow assumed that the revealed new hero model was the sole release for Nurgle, but I guess that I was just going off of rumours and did not hear that officially stated. So fingers crossed we get some new Pestigors! And speaking of Stinky-Goats I painted a Beast Sorcerer as a Skunk in my younger days to designate it as Nurgle. 😄 Slight aside, I posted some more of my silly invented Chaos Theology in the Chaos Thread, and I am always looking for some of other folks own takes on the chaos pantheon(s) and their own lore ideas. Furthermore, I am trying to develop a parallel history for my Stormcast tying the heroes to a noble house that fell to Chaos and Nagash over time.
  13. Yeah, I am not seeing all the doom and gloom over the new battletomes I loved what we got from Stormcast and Orruk Warclans. I do not imagine Nurgle getting worse and overall I find streamlined rules overall much better. Furthermore, most of the issues stemming from Stormcast seem to come from redundancies within the army and so likely wont be an issue for Nurgle which has a lot more room for each unit to fill an invaluable niche. My only complaint with the upcoming tome is a lack of Pesitgors which I was banking on to an unbelievably high degree. 😢
  14. Did anyone see this on the Black Templar article: 🤩 Also I really liked the Gitz comic. I doubt that they give information like which tomes are upcoming to the writers/illustrators of these comics. Maybe they let them know the next one for promo purposes but I doubt they'd know that far ahead. Otherwise I would assume they'd be checking on Nurgle/Sick Gitz as well. I mean I obviously could be wrong though.
  15. I want a model for Dracothion but for it to be the size of a pewter greater demon... I don't care about scale my imagination is strong! 🤯
  16. I love the idea of an Anaconda Behemoth for the DoK. Thanks for the well wishes and the interview went well, it was for an opening in the company I work but I know I have stiff competition. I need to learn to not make references to Ogor Pirates in polite company though. 🧐 Being outside the UK I avoided the temptation entirely, I remember someone suggesting that online deals might be this year's version of battleforces... so we will see how my will power holds out. Luckily I have reached 2000 points for all my current armies and unless there is something utterly tempting (FEC, NH, HoS, or CoS) I will be able to resist. I do hope that GW makes an official announcement regarding the Battleforces though.
  17. Being the next battletome it is safe to assume that the points will reflect the points present in that book. Still thank you for the break down.
  18. I love everything in the box and it would all find use in my army and on my battlefield. I am very tempted but simultaneously there are things that I want as much or more. I have been eyeing Varanguard since starting AOS and the possibility of expanded AoS models are more appealing. Heck I would prefer getting the broken realms box and adding additional chariots and using the gorebeasts for Chaos spawn. I am interviewing for a new job if it works out maybe I could justify it as a celebratory gift... but Be'Lakor or Smiley the Stormcast Dragon would be cooler purchases... 🐲➕🙂 = ❤️ With the rumoured lack of Battleforces, I might get Red Harvest as my big annual Warhammer purchase but only if the reviews indicate that the new Red Harvest rules are fun and can make up for the Warcry supplements I skipped. But overall I think I will bow out on this one in hopes that it will stick around and maybe with GW being more open to discounts it may be a future purchase... but that seems unlikely considering that these current discounts seem extremely measured and relating to storage space 😢
  19. I think that is why I love the distinct factions within AoS. If you want an anthropomorphic army we got it in various flavours. You also forgot my personal favourites being the Snake Ladies and their Amazing Queen Goddess! Even the Chaos gods are slowly getting their own bestial followers once again. I also feel like we are at the threshold of some other fantastic anthropomorphic armies and subfactions, like Silent People and Kurnothi. I feel of those listed, that Beasts are in for a treat with the eventual return of Morghur and that Skaven will help bridge the narrative between Ghur and Ulgu. Destruction are the stars of the edition but like Hysh last edition Ulgu will clearly be a major narrative focus that I think will tie into the main story towards the end. I feel like with the Soul Wars ending with Teclis throwing down with Nagash that this edition will end alternatively with Malerion's machinations tying into Kragnos et al. finally smashing Azyr.
  20. Ulgu? Now I am much more excited... Not in that way Malerion!!!
  21. I think that is a realistic solution that will have less issues than current Starter sets or the Combat Patrols. However, I wonder if these sets will be based around faction specific battalions or the generic battalions in the Core Book? The three Varanguard battalion from White Dwarf would be a great set, but we'd be much more likely to get the four units and a hero set from the same White Dwarf issue.
  22. Someone posted a new Nurgle bundle on Reddit, they were speculating that it was the cause of the start collecting sets vanishing. I would share the image but I do not know if it constitute as a Leaked image?
  23. The reality is simply that we don't know how things are moving or which issues are causing what specific delays. I mean it genuinely sucks... but the reality is that we are in a massive Pandemic and the U.K. is going through a massive socio political shift causing issues for trade and production. 40K is probably a priority but there were issues with the Dragons production and clearly that alone caused issues with the roll out. I think that GW is playing catch up but 40k seems to not have had production issues that exacerbated issues on the AOS side. 40k is obviously the priority in terms of sales but AOS is getting plenty of love with most models being much more up to date than many 40K ranges. I personally do not like the situation either and I am more and more dismayed every time I see a new space marine that looks like every single other Marine... but I also know that it is likely much easier to print a book with the same stat lines, some new lore and a new set of special rules than starting from scratch. I wouldn't be surprised if so much of the imperium focus of late is in response to the pandemic. Of course despite everyone else's excitement Horus Herecy fills me with dismay as I can go without more Space Marines. Based on what I have heard about other U.K. lines and products it sounds like GW are doing a fairly decent job... Warhammer plus not withstanding.
  24. I recently posted a lengthy post on the topic of Chaos Followers and their open ended beliefs in the Chaos Gods. I deleted the majoirty of my thoughts and ideas as I was once again clogging the rumour thread but it did spark some interest in the subject. So I was wondering how you interpreted the nature of belief within your own army's lore? Are your God Marked army's monotheistic? Do your Beasts believe in animistic natural forms of the Gods? How do your Clan Pestilens rats balance between Nurgle and the The Great Horned Rat? Do your Hedonite pretenders truly believe that they can ascend to Godhood over their missing God? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For my own army their faith is primarily based around lies, deceit, and betrayal. The leader of my Slaves to Darkness force was a devoted follower of Sigmar who opposed chaos worshipers in his homelands, these Chaos worshipers had a very limited understanding of the Chaos Gods. Eventually he converted the leader of the Chaos Tribes to worship Sigmar and together they lead a crusade to the Eightpoints and then upon seeing the might of Chaos fell to worshiping the Dark Powers. The former leader of the Chaos Tribes opposed his betrayal and he slew her and the other faithful of Sigmar who were all reforged into Stormcast Eternals. Now his fall was pre-empted by lies told in his court and he mapped out an understanding of the Chaotic faith based around the Eightpoint Star. This in turn was formulated from hidden chaos worshipers in his own midst who pushed these ideas upon him having gotten visions from the Tzeentchian forces to the South and heard whispers from Be'Lakor who wished to have mortal worshipers of his own within the forces of Archaon. In this pantheon Archaon is seen as a prophet and embodiment of chaos rather than a proper God as that is limited more directly to demonhood. I want to incorporate the Beasts faith into this and I am thinking that my Chaos Worshipers will view Morghur as an incomplete and corrupt Chaos god akin to a devil maybe even calling it the 'Devil Spawn'... but depending on how my narrative progresses they may sadly include Morghur in place of Malal if I ever use Beasts as allies or they get souped into Slaves to Darkness. I have a more full narrative of the betrayal written but this is mostly focusing on how it was informed by an understanding of chaos and to help emphasize the notion that crusades are often motivated though ignoble reasons.
  25. I currently have the terrain from the initial Warcry boxset and it is more terrain than I ever had in the olden days. I actually have issues storing all of the terrain but I am still hoping to get a little more.
