Overall apparently it was ok to nerf the already old book. Which is a shame because I was getting out of stormcast to maybe get an army with decent infantry and Saurus aren’t going to be the “heavy infantry” gw likes to type about them being. Saves are the same, 1 wound regular Saurus. I’d go give it all a read over there. It’s a lot to process. if you regularly face off against reapers, orruks, or ogres. Don’t expect even a Carnosaur to stand up to their battleline units. they have great stats and abilities before they even take battalions and buffs, now if our battalions etc don’t seriously help out we aren’t going to be doing anything but going the way dinosaur when we engage them. take All this with salt, or whisky.

I would head over to Lustria online and check out the Seraphon rumor thread. Doesn’t seem to promising is all I’m gonna sadly say.

Is it going to be around adepticon does everyone think ? I’m ready to leave my stormcast and go back to the lizards they were my first warhammer army and the whole reason I got into the hobby. I just don’t want to start buying without reading the book so I don’t go from one army in a rough situation to a new that isn’t much of an improvement.

I have a question, how does everyone that runs a shootcast list deal with heavy melee armies? I’m struggling against orruks and bonereapers and ogres.

Yeah Im going to try for the traditional Hammers Of Sigmar look. Auric armor is so aggravating to use for me I was thinking skipping it in favor of air brushing the liberator over retributor.

Has anyone tried Airbrushing their Stormcast? I am trying to think of a way to not drybrush because I hate that kinda grainy texture. Do you painting wizards know if a good zenithal of Liberator gold would work maybe? If I applied it after the retributor base and wash.

I'm pretty doubtful on it, I "Wish" for soon and I hope for "Eventually" but honestly I think its all fallen on Def Ears. That there hasn't even been any sort of acknowledgement by GW to say hey we understand and are working it, kinda cements that in my mind. I don't know if anyone on here remembers the dark elf book that was heavily changed at launch with kind of an apology by Gav Thorpe not long after it came out, but Even that book was better beforehand than what we have right now. Im blown away that A vocal minority of whiners were able to complain enough that they raise points on stormcast stuff etc when they did and there wasn't an immediate flood of stormcast players rallying to the defense saying that's not needed. I cant understand how every day theres not at least one person commenting on our books state to them. The facts are they absolutely have to know the books issues, and are choosing to not address it. Points Drops are not a bandaid to fix it because the whole thing needs re worked starting with our warscrolls. its just a choice not to do it. With seraphon looking less likely to have an announcement today at the event as well I hope they also aren't left in the dust.

So probably a safe bet nothing for seraphon today?

I’m thinking of just shelving mine, I played my girlfriends Nighthaunt last weekend, and even it outperformed our book. I really hope we get a fixed book and not just “oh here’s a new chamber open! Enjoy it til we nerf the hell out of it because the vocal minority’s Facebook whining!”. I swear if enough of us got on their Facebook and said something maybe they’d listen.

I kinda need help putting together a 1000 points list, I’ve got all the soul wars stuff plus an extra box of evocators and a box of evocators on cats, I also have the thunderstrike box and vanguard box, and 9 longstrikes. I haven’t honestly had time to sit down and do a list and I’m getting back into the game from old fantasy battle days. The one game I’ve played I just took an Knight incantor and 10 evocators on foot with two 5 man liberator squads (need to change their name to Evaporators because that’s all they did), and one ballista. Thanks in advance!

Hopefully seraphon will be soonish, and then a quick rework of the early 2.0 books I’ve basically shelved my stormcast. I’m happy both these factions got this update and so soon too. The games not in a perfect place but I feel it’s getting better.

It’s honestly a damn joke at this point. I hate I had to order 9 raptors just to be semi competitive and have to watch the minimum liberator choice just vanish off the table the minute anything touches them. The powers that be surely have to know the state of the book I mean people are complaining on Facebook right? If not we need to launch a campaign lol. Sorry guys rants over.

I need some assembly help on my paladins, try and try as I might I can’t get the arms to actually fit properly. I’ve followed the instructions exactly and if I line up one arm flush to the torso the other side sticks out. If I push it to fit it just bows out the haft of the axe. Thanks so much for any replies.

So taking units of “heavy looking infantry” sadly doesn’t actually equal taking heavy infantry unless it’s maybe evocators or sequitors? The other paladins aren’t good options and liberators aren't either compared to those two I’m beginning to see, which is a shame really because I love all the types, probably much the same with the many different cavalry units , they look outstanding and super capable but performance isn’t a good trade off for points. It does kinda grind me that ten liberators can’t really compare to the same core units in a lot of these other armies that cost less. Fingers crossed for a decent rebalancing because I’m gonna stick with the sigmarines regardless.

I’m really really loving my Stormcast models, love their storyline and everything. I’m getting back into tabletop gaming after a few years away from the 40k tournament scene and old world Warhammer. Here’s my question after much research, to you professionals of bringing the pain, Am I pretty much stuck with one or two builds to be competitive like longstrikes and Vandus etc or is even that suffering from the over costed units and sub par stats of a lot of their current Battletome units? How often do the poster boys of fantasy get a codex update if so ? Thanks everyone I know it’s a huge vague hard to answer question. Why I came here to the professionals lol.

They look pretty combat capable and large, I guess I’d better go ahead and put these Longstrikes together so my “heavy infantry looking” Stormcast can put up a fight lol. I’m excited about them my girlfriend is all about fielding an army for each undead so I’m sure come October I’ll be fighting these guys.

X wing also has a decent turn mechanic.
