In an era of Souls-like clones and how common they are from AA/BBB studios I'm shocked we've not seen one set in a Warhammer IP yet. AoS in-particular seems tailor made a setting for one.

A soulsborne game sounds awesome, but building out Soulbound into a Planescape-like party based crpg is my dream (but with free choice of making character).

  2. Not directly AoS, but there has been a large cleanup in Forgeworld 40k models. In true GW fashion, the greater demons went last chance to buy when they were out of stock.

Khorne herald now also gone, so AoS is totally empty.

I don't see FW making new stuff for AoS, and suspect 40k will be limited to titans, vehicles and 30k leftovers.

I am only thankful for Space Marines in that they make GW so much money it helps the business as a whole. If they were to announce an End Times for Space Marines it would be the most excited I could be for them.

    THEY. ARE. BORING.

    I said it.

Please dont heretically burn me!! @Black_Templar_Lad I do enjoy the themes of the more differential Chapters such as Space Wolves and Black Templars!!

Mate this list is so satisfying to me and incredibly useful!! Keep up Sigmars work mate!!

Space marines making GW lots of money leads to GW making space marines (of any place on the colour wheel). Which leads to those fans getting more while others with neglected factions slowly stop being interested in the hobby.

I have 5 from a starter set because I wanted some space skeletons, and can't imagine wanting more. Their infantry is uninspired, and their vehicles seem like they can be folded from the box they came in.

I was thinking that the more dynamic posed warband sculpts would look great on the sides of that new Maw Grunta!🤘

Also Chosen Axes have most of the diversity of Fyreslayers and could be their Start Collecting-ish.

I was saying this in response to the comments leaning towards not having Duardin in Cities any more. I was saying this is why we need top keep them in Cities.

And for what it's worth I think the new humies and old dwarves already look like they fir together in the same army.

In fact, of it turns out that Duardin are removed from Cities, then my Cities army is going to have to have a unit or two of Freeguild (or whatever they'll be called) who happen to be particularly short humans with beards.

I made some halflings from Bretonnisn Bowmen and a few other models to include in my Guard.

I genuinely don't understand why they can't communicate that "Heads up, these models are going out of production and by next edition, their rules will be Legends". I don't even think it would hurt sales, because there are probably people who would have picked up, let's say, a few extra Fimir or a Merwyrm if they had known they'd go out of production instead of being blindsided by it.

Yeah, I had been eyeing the Mournghul for a big bad monster in my rpg game, but I'll have to find something else.

I have done this a few times but Mollogs model and base size are smaller than the Troggboss, just keep that in mind.

That is all compensated by his friends being really cute!

It's rotated. Some starter warbands got released separately with cards, others did not and only later separately without cards (nighthaunt for example), and later ones get the Rivals treatment.

Thanks, the vagueries of post-season Underworlds continue to elude me.

If only they would release the Sons of Velmorn on their own. They would sell so many as Grave Guard proxies.

They do look good, don't they?

Probably never as even after the season is over the starter set warbands normally get bundled together in a single box as you can see here:

    Harrowdeep

    Nethermaze

I could swear I saw the Thorns of the Briar Queen as a separate box in the Nighthaunt section (webstore only). Sure, without cards, but I only care about the models. Can't see it now so it could be misremembering, or be rotated.

That price is higher than the entire box of the first few seasons.

I do very much prefer the new head proportions though, they look a lot more sleek. The oversized heads really detracted from the rest of the model and really did not match the art.

I absolutely agree the metal slayer heads were comically large, but I think GW can do better than copy and paste emotionless faces under the facial hair. You can see expression under a beard and mustache. Even a few faces that are just angry, like the Warden King, would make them less boring.

This is the one negative aspect of modern dwarves. The new sculpts are great but them wanting to reduce the size of their heads to get more ´human’ proportions means we lost the facial expressions older sculpts had.

The newer kharadron characters are getting closer to the bigger head and more expressions vibe. Îm thinking of the beer supplier guy and the code guy. Though they could still have more expressions.

Yeah, Bugmansson, Drekki and the Codewright have better heads than others.

It seems most current dwarves (Fyreslayers, Hammerers, Longbeards) were sculpted with the facial hair already on. GW can sculpt emotions, but it's a lot easier if you do that first, and then add facial hair.

Normally I'd spam a "LONG LOST NEHEKHARA!!!" comment, but as we've recently seen it looks like my tomb will be relatively spruced up soon. Now is the time for people such as @Public Universal Duardin, @Clan's Cynic, @Beliman, and @Snorri Nelriksson, who have patiently sat on the sides and grumbled relatively quietly as elgi, umgi, grobi and other wazzocks have gotten massive updates. Give us new dwarfs/duardin GW, even if they're corrupted.

    Destruction dwarves!

    Dwarf ancestor spirits!

    Thomas the pain engine!

    Valkyries of Valaya!

    Female Kharadron and Fyreslayers!

Models that show they can sculpt more than a neutral face full of hair!

The point is, there are far more homogenous looking units in AoS than FS and yet, somehow, they don't seem to attract even a fraction of the same criticism, somethimes hate, even.

I really wonder sometimes how many people, who complain about Fyreslayers, are Fyreslayers players. Not to extrapolate onto the wider community, but speaking just for myself, I collected and played them from the release. Loved and still do the look of the models, never had an issue with telling units apart, and, truth be told, I don't even care about expanding the army (just DO NOT give us another foot hero, for heaven's sake!). Am I the only one then?

I like the theory of Fyreslayers, but if all you have is naked dwarf, I want to see diversity in the stuff that's there. I almost purchased the SC often, but I already thought they were running out of variety in that box alone. Looking at it now, I should have looked at the shields and picks, and it would just be enough for me.

But then there's another few heroes that look exactly the same, (and two that are different), and the other more expensive infantry that looks largely the same (though I like the magma pikes).

For units called berserkers, they have the 1000 yard stare of an office worker on thursday morning, without even the memory of emotion.

I want to like them, but I just don't think they are good designs.

Oh, man... Wait till you see Irondrakes and/or Ironbreakers! 😱

Irondrakes and all ironbreakers except one have face covering helmets, so not the best example. Longbeards and hammerers are admittedly not much better.

It isn't impossible to have at least some variety and expression in dwarf faces550x550-25.jpg.361ac77ad3736e4dac9fc2c011629dc9.jpg

    550x548-4.jpg.4b64fd75339a9ae12a8f4477d52472a2.jpg

(A few different shaped noses, some smiles, an open mouth, raised eyebrows, differences in hoe deep the eyes are, some faces are notably fatter, some have deep froens etc). Metal dwarf slayers were also more expressive (the sculpts don't hold up, but they have expression), so GW can do it as well.

and engine of gods isnt priest neither. so lost every priest on army.

wtf saurus getting his points doubled???

and troglodon keeping his joke high points. or solar engine keeping his absurded cost too when im totally sure we will loose the fire 2 times things. that keep him cloose to balanced before.

those points are enforcing my prior fears about gw doing his typical thing on a "op" book at the time....

    Skink starpriest?

I think a big part of the clone army is the heads though (Ad also argue the weapons dont help but arent a problem by themselves) as its such an enormous part of identifying a model and its the one part thats essentially identical on every FS. I mean look at the classic slayer range, they are all much more naked, but you can tell the various types apart and they are all armed with similar melee weapons (Though growing in fanciness on the heroes) with things like ornamentation and even scale. Identifying units by their level of beard (and rune) bling would be the most Dwarven thing possible :D

But you arent wrong, id always like to include so reverse compatibility for existing players but its the least popular army for a reason, a revamp is probably the best thing for them and the game.

One of the biggest issue is their faces. They have only one expression. And it's a rather neutral face.

Look at just the face, and tell me the difference.
