    The problem with Skaven in 40k setting (as much as I love Skaven) is that Genestealer cults already fill the secretive, under empire, lurking menace role. Not really worth having a second army who do the same thing. I suppose rat men could be used as an auxiliary xenos unit for Tau? Or as an alternative daemon army?

    I seem to recall that they hinted that Sigmar was one of the missing space marine primarchs, whose pod landed on a medieval planet. IIRC that was in the rogue trader book? and by the time 2nd edition came out they had scrapped the idea.

    I'm a bit miffed that Teclis didn't make an appearance today in the GW god tier death match, would've been a perfect opportunity for a rules tease.

    What do people think about the costing of the Lumineth army box? I’d guess, Spirit of Eltharion, £20? 10 x wardens £30? 5 x dawnriders £30? LE battletome £50? Dice & templates & markers £20? Warscroll cards £20? That comes to £170. What do think of my guesstimates?

    Gratz on getting these featured on war.com. Fantastic job on these. Love the way you’ve carried the theme through. I especially like the use of the Necro Sphinx, shame they can’t bring them back, they fit the AoS aesthetic so well.

    So, in your example, unit 3 would fight first (due to fight at start of combat phase rule), then unit 4 would fight next (active player B’s turn so he picks first). Then units 1 & 2 in whatever order player A chooses.

    I’ve never owned them from brand new, but I’m pretty sure they are mixed which is what causes the problem.

    They are lovely models! I managed to score a full set of skaven off eBay last year. The problem is the 2 armies for Island of Blood were mixed over the same sprue, so one sprue had both elf and skaven on it.. The AoS starter set (Stormcast & Khorne) that followed has at least been split so that it has now been repackaged as 2 start collecting sets. I guess when soul wars gets replaced they'll do the same with nighthaunt & sacrosanct. But such a shame about Island of Blood. I wish I had bought a few of them at the time!

    From the way that lore is written it sounds like the ignore rend rules should be at the cost of fighting at end of combat phase.

    Or tidecaster, or Soulrender, or soulscryer for that matter. Deepkin got a raw deal in warcry, at least in terms of variety. Lumineth seem very well catered for.

    Good spot! Neither has Teclis, though he probably just knows all the spells.

    Makes me wonder what the bonus is against heroes? article says “increasing his damage”. My guess is it will be a flat 3 damage, rather than D3?

    Yes, I’m not talking averages, I’m saying maximum potential damage. 6 hits from Fangsword and Celennari blade hitting on 6’s becomes 12 hits (due to supreme sword master). If they all wound, and they all did 3 on the D3 damage that would be 36 wounds. Then if the Fangsword hits 8 wounded with 6’s, would be 8 mortal wounds on top. I’m not great working out averages/probabilities etc, I’ll leave that to someone else!

    Nothing absolutely confirmed by GW as far as I’m aware, just hinted at. The lore said about him standing in the divide between Tyrionoc & Teclian halves of Lumineth society. The same Lumineth lowdown article mentioned that in the world that was he was the “perfect blend between supernal warrior and mage.” So, it’s been speculated that he will be a caster as well. I think that would be pretty sweet.
