  1. Which list is better for take all comers?: Iron Sky Command Endrinmaster with Dirigible Suit, Phosphorite Bomblets, Grudgebearer Navigator Khemist, Spell in a Bottle (Purple Sun) Ironclad (Volley Cannon, Ebullient Buoyancy Aids) 10 Arkanauts 3x3 Riggers (Rivets and Saws) 20 Thunderers Total: 1970, 2 Drops OR: No Battalion, No Navigator, Khemist or Arkanauts but Brokk, 3 more Riggers and a Gunhauler. 9 drops. The second list is deadlier; but will never outdrop anyone. I’m inclined to take the two drop list so I have the choice to alpha or take the opportunity to have the first double turn. Have people had really bad experiences when out dropped by alpha strike capable lists? Or maybe outdropped and allowed them to get too many buffs up?
  2. I start my list with 20 Thunderers and an Ironclad with Buoyancy Aids and build from there.
  3. Ugh; not only that I’m short a hero. Going to have to drop the Gunhauler to pick up a navigator or Endrinmaster and then I won’t have the points for Vortex. Maybe Purple Sun instead, or Malevolent Maelstrom for an altogether different goal. Back to the drawing board.
  4. Rate my list! Homebrew Skyport: Settle The Grudges, Always Take What You Are Owed, Without Our Ships We Are Nought Iron Sky Command Battalion: Endrinmaster with Dirigible Suit (Grudgebearer, Phosphorite Bomblets), Khemist (Spell In a Bottle/Warplightning Vortex), 3x3 Endrinriggers (Rivet Guns/Saws), Ironclad (Great Volleycannon, Ebullient Buoyancy Aids) Other Units: Gunhauler 20 Thunderers (Rifles) Its three drops; which could be four if I was convinced the extra share of Aethergold was worth it and split the Thunderers into 2x10 but I like 1x20 Thunderers for the better chance to choose whether to alpha strike or take the opportunity for the first double turn as well as being able to give them re-roll 1s to wound with the Khemist as a larger group. I like being able to choose my artifacts hence the homebrew port. The biggest list change I’m considering is dumping the Khemist. I’m not sure I’m skilled enough to position the Vortex properly, we’ll see. Would potentially replace him with 2x10 Arkanauts or 1x10 and 3 more riggers, but that increases drops so I’m sticking with him for now. The firepower and mobility is just devastating. I LOVE this book.
  5. I brought my LCoSD out for a spin for the first time against Ironjawz this week and he got bogged down by two Brute squads, then a third got thrown at him. He was eating through them but too slowly (I rolled all 1s and 2s every turn for Rain of Stars). I ended up scooting a Relictor up to Translocate him out of combat but by then it was too late, I lost on objectives. How should I be using him? Which units should be kept close to him? I threw him out on a flank on his own; that’s clearly not the answer, at least against IJ.
  6. I’m playing 2k of Blisterkin FEC on Friday. He told me he has two TG’s, and a total of 6 spells/unbinds so I presume that means 2 arch regents and two other heroes. I haven’t played him yet but I know he likes knights so that means summoning more and probably running a fair number base. What should I bring? I’m new, but so far have run a balanced list where I bring a modest amount of shooting and surround it with a buffer block of 20 Sequitors for protection. But he has so much MW output I wonder if that’s pointless and I should just go MSU and focus on objectives. I should mention I can ally in KO, like 20 Thunderers for extra shooting or Seraphon, maybe 20 Skinks as a screen.
  7. I usually use Barak Zilfin; since There’s Always A Breeze If You Look For It is “in your hero phase” (therefore any time therein I want), can I use that and still disembark? Because if I choose to use TAABIYLI at the start of my Hero Phase, then there’s two events at the start, one has to happen first.....catch my drift?
  8. Maybe; don’t know the mission yet but 10 Arkanauts on their own can’t take an objective from my grandmother.
  9. Maybe; don’t know the mission yet but 10 Arkanauts on their own can’t take an objective from my grandmother.
  10. If you take a block of 20 the Sequitors are actually only 400p; so it’s even nastier. I’ll have to see how he deploys but I have a feeling he’ll just deploy everything except maybe the Judicators to drop on an objective. I will focus on his heroes. I think I’ll put a squad of Arkanauts and Brokk in the Frigate to drop in an objective; I’ll deploy everything else bc the balloon bois are fast enough especially with the grapnels. I don’t expect to win but it does depend o the mission.
  11. I’m introducing a buddy to the game on Saturday; he’s going to play my new Stormcast army I haven’t even played yet, and I’ll field KO. I was writing the lists and I realized that, sure, I can play to the objectives and hope for the best but there are units we straight up can’t deal with. For example, I gave him a block of 20 Sequitors that he will, at my direction, buff with Staunch Defender, Warding Lantern (from a Castellant), Mystic Shield and Azyrite Halo. He will have a 2+ save re-rolling 1s and 6s will deal MW’s back to me. The only way to deal with this unit is to have something that deals MW; but we really don’t. Nothing compared to others out there. It hadn’t previously been on my wishlist but I sincerely hope we get something (maybe an endless spell equivalent) that consistently deals at least D6 MW because this isn’t the only example of a unit we really can’t handle. My plan, by the way, aside from focusing on objectives is to ignore this unit as best I can; use grapnel launchers to vault 12 Riggers behind his line and multi assault the rest of his stuff. I’ll use my 20 Thunderers with rifles to shoot his heroes.
  12. I play KO and SCE but have some Seraphon lying around. Never tried to make a mixed order list before; but what do you all think of this?: Brokk Grungsson 20 Thunderers (Rifles) 12 Endrinriggers (10 Saws, 2 Grapnel Launchers) Lord Arcanum on Celestial Dracoline Lord Castellant 20 Sequitors (9 Grandstaves, 11 Swords) 2x10 Skinks That’s 2000p exactly; although I would be grateful if someone would clarify the legality. I have the requisite 3 battleline but they’re from different factions, neither of which is the largest in the force. As for tactics, I megabuff the Sequitors with Staunch Defender, Warding Lantern and Mystic Shield which gets them to a re-rollable 2+ when Mystic shield goes off - IF my second legality question is answered in the affirmative, that being, can i use Staunch Defender in Mixed Order? If not; it’s still a 3+ re-rolling 1s. Anyway, the Sequitors are single file out in front, with the Thunderers 3.01” behind shooting. Heroes behind them. Skinks guard the flanks, balloon boys bring up the rear. The linchpin is the grapnel launchers. Turn 2 I will try to latch to terrain or a monster behind the enemy’s biggest force concentration and vault the Riggers behind them. Then charge the Sequitors in front acting as a hammer and anvil. Both of those units are great in combat; add in my Arcanum and Brokk as finishers and I could see it being pretty nasty. Against the few lists I don’t want to be charged by, I can use the skinks as screens in front to ensure a counter charge by my riggers.
  13. Thanks for all that! Will definitely consider Thryyng. Should I consider Mhornar too? Seems like if we’re talking about focus-firing against his scariest thing re-rolling hits would be better? (Plus rum and shoot on t1 and the change to pile in and attack in the hero phase 1/game)
  14. Have a 2000p game next week against a friend who will be bringing FEC for the first time. He generally plays the best stuff, but I have no idea what FEC does aside from I don’t want to ever be in combat with a dragon unless I can charge and kill it immediately (but don’t they have an ability to go first even if I charge?) Brokk Khemist 3x10 Arkanauts 1x20 Thunderers (rifles) 1x12 Endrinriggers (Saws) Knight Incantor 1x5 Evocators The arkanauts will serve as screens; Evo’s and Riggers with heroes behind, Thunderers last. I was thinking Barak Urbaz so the Khemist can buff the Thunderers’ rifles and the Riggers saws at least for turn 1. Thoughts?
  15. Hi! I play KO and was initially thinking about allying in a couple SCE heroes but decided I actually just want a whole Stormcast army. Is this okay at 2000? I like shooty stuff and these Knight characters. Knight Incantor Knight Azyros Knight Quaestor Knight Venator 2x1 Ballistas 2x5 Vanguard Hunters 1x5 Judicators 2x5 Evocators 3x3 Vanguard Raptors with Longstrikes
