  1. Hmm. Interesting. Not sure if this makes it an easier or harder decision? I do kinda wish GW had the balls to release points and warscrolls ahead of release rather than bait all the SGL players with tantalising new units which may or may not be worthwhile. Yes, that would poss take a chunk of sales off them but it feels a bit more upfront. That said, I think I’m still gonna pick up a copy, and actually quite like the idea of running a cohort of Cursed City Characters in AoS. 🤞🏻 Really fecking hope we get to see some warscrolls tonight...
  2. Tbh, the old bat swarm -1 to hit with shooting within 12” is pretty decent. They need a little boost, and hopefully they got a dose of the LRL rules writer and not the Hedonites one... The models however have always been hot smoking ****** burgers. Wouldn’t be surprised if the simple upgrade of model isn’t enough to see more of them on the table?
  3. No.... Yes.... Sold all my skeles. Kept my (marmite) Metal late 90's early naughties grave guards. Got black knights, converted these. Sold fell bats and bat swarms. Sold 140 old painted zombies.
  4. Bases sizes all here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/ba618db2.pdf Blood Knight currently on 60 x 35 mm, 100% they are going to 75 x 42mm
  5. What do we reckon then? I’m expecting full roughness.
  6. I did, and then the store told me they had to cancel my pre-pre order and wait till 11 on Saturday. ******

  8. Off topic but also not at all. DO I BUY CURSED CITY OR SAVE MY MONEY FOR SGL RELEASE?!?! The nightmare is real. Sold boatloads of old LoN models In last week and amazingly scraped together £400. Thing is, CC will take a big chunk out of that. And new models don’t tend to be cheap. That said, I already have pretty much everything I need apart from all the Fell bats, bat swarms, skelebobs, Zombros, Blood Knights and hero models. There Is no doubt more to come, endless spells, faction terrain and a centre piece model. Hmm, as I write this I feel the answer is crystallising... Nonetheless, I’m trying to work out (a) if I’ll regret it forever not buying a copy cos the models in it are sick af (b) whether the value of SGL models in the box is roughly on par with what they’d cost to buy seperatly for AoS. Sorry if this seems like a douchey post. I defo don’t have loads of dollar, just hype over these beautiful new models and will sell all my old stuff to make way. Even considering flogging my 40 man metal grave guard unit which I’ve held onto for f e c k i n g ever. What are other people doing?
  9. Double turn mechanic is a keeper, one of the best parts of the game.
  10. It would also be the only mortal in the entire nighthaunt range. Be very surprised if it happened.
  11. We don’t need shooting cos we have rapid fast heroes to deliver power where and when needed, gravesites to summon units, and the ability to bring units back from the dead. I actually am really fine without shooting. OBR, yes, they should. But Soulblight, Vampire Counts have ever had any shooting. Unless you count skeleton archers or Skull Catapults in Tomb Kings, or even further back skeleton crossbow men in god knows what edition of fantasy. Personally, I’m all about the shambling relentless brain dead corpses backed up by superhuman vamps.
  12. If they could do the same with Archaon as well, whilst there at it. Totally had enough of 600-800 point characters in the game. It’s lame sauce.
  13. They will almost certainly be thematically on point, but something you’d rarely field competitively. Just a hunch. Look at all the prev Warhammer quests. That said, the Gaunt Summoner was pretty dece.
  14. Undecided on cursed city. The models are absolutely stunning, and I think I’ll forever kick myself if I don’t pick it up at release. Much as I wish the warscrolls will be useable in AoS, I suspect they will be pretty meh. GW can hardly release some bent rules for miniatures in a very expensive, ltd run of a board game. Yes, they have done this with the AoS boxsets, but this is a diff thing. I think they are selling the sizzle rather than the sausage, for us Soulblight and Death players that is. That said, I am 100% picking up a copy. If nothing else, 10 zombies, 10 skeles, and 3 fell bats will be a nice start to the mew units they will form part of. The vampire hero will make for a decent VL on foot if his rules are ******, and IF VL’s on foot are a thing in SGL. The varghulf monster will be great replacement for my FEC one, and perhaps even useable with whatever warscroll they do. Guessing it will be a one off unit, but who knows perhaps it comes in 3’s? The dude with the spade, seems nice. Creating units of zombies from scratch sounds fun, but I can’t imagine that rule is unique to him? The necromancer dude will be great as a necro, obvs. As for the slightly feral pale vamps, I am praying that they get a warscroll - but it doesn’t look like they will. Not sure how they would be used in AoS, perhaps just as Vamp lords? What are people’s thoughts?
  15. Characters can join units, as per old fantasy. Shooting cannot be done into combat. Shooting through your own units, even if you can 'see' the target is a flat -1. Single heroes cannot be targeted by shooting unless they are the closest target. Teleporting units cannot shoot or charge following a teleport, the same rule shouldn't apply to summoned or ambushing units. Bring back % restrictions. Armies should IMHO look like armies, Nagash or Archaon shouldn't wandering around with 20 dudes. Not sure how this can be fixed, cos the cat is out the bag now, but it's ****** and makes the game look and feel lame. Fix prayers, they are OP, too reliable and cant be unbound. Fix overly complex warscrolls for specific terrain pieces, which almost no one uses and make decent universal terrain rules. Fix rules for moving over terrain, steam tanks shouldnt be able to climb trees. Obvs. Go back to 6 simple, dynamic and actually effective mystical terrain rules.
  16. So, whose buying cursed city and crimson court and when do we reckon Soulblight book is gonna drop?
  17. Hoping the they keep the essence of the current rules for both fell bats and bat swarms, but just dial it to 11. The -1 to hit from shooting aura is nothing to be sniffed at, and the scent of gore rule is nice but is hampered by how ****** their attacks are. Fell bats have always just seemed like a worse option that dire wolves. Less resilient, less models, and less wounds.
  18. What are you smoking, that necro is a totally rad sculpt!
  19. The players the OP are playing are fecking tools. The kind of people that push for abusive loopholes such as this, will simply move onto the next thing as soon as this one closes. The same people who think casting spells through their own heroes to trigger unrealistic bonuses is fine, who used to conga line into buildings for cover in old fantasy, who always put vortex in bottles and who will argue about trying to balance a steam tank on a single spindly branch. It comes from a different way of thinking about playing, where the social contract matters less than winning whatever the cost. They are sad acts who rely on these sort of things to win claiming that it is they who are right, and that GW need to pull their socks up. I think its fair to say they are pretty much the one bit of the hobby no one likes. Sadly, these kinda players are everywhere. Good luck finding new opponents.
  20. Gravesites should absolutely have terrain markers for them. The issue however has always been, theme vs practicality. It looks rad to have a tomb, or pile of bones for example, but its not practical to place models on which is an issue when the terrains sole purpose is doing exactly that. I can't see GW snubbing HWG and releasing transparent terrain placement markers, so, I'm a little unsure about what they choose. That said, Soulblight don't use gravesites anyways, so maybe it wont make an appearance? But, then again. LoN is almost certainly going way of Do Do so perhaps they will roll this mechanic into the faction. I for one have always loved this element of Death, its super strategic and really themey.
