  1. I did say it was a bold call. It most likely is a CSM thing though, yeah.
  2. I'm going to make a bold call. I think this silhouette is Morghur.
  3. I wish they'd stop pigeonholing Underworlds warbands into specific sub-faction in general. It's damn annoying and serves no purpose.
  4. Underworlds warband warscrolls. Totally unusable at a ridiculous 290 points. I now shudder to think about the points costs in the new book.
  5. What the actual hell with those Shadeborn being 290 points?! In what universe would this ever be close to reasonable?
  6. Don't forget plastic Maneaters with loads of build options.
  7. I really dig the crouching shadeborn with crossbow and the leader's crescent-moon cloak motif.
  8. That background art is way more interesting than anything we'll actually get as models.
  9. Then it better have a Khinerai hero in it.
  10. In my perfect world, Malerion and Morathi end up part of the same faction, but controlling different "nations." Much like Tyrion and Teclis. Then we truly have the shadow elves vs. the light elves.
  11. I would like the units to be more independently capable rather than relying on multiple swingy buffs. I'd like the Avatar to be a smashy monster that doesn't need to be "powered on." I'd like their damage to be amped up. Less of a focus on +save/defensive buffs (looking at your Hagg Nar and Cauldron). Khinerai battleline.
  12. Didn't say it should auto-delete. You still have to roll above the casting value on 2d6 (essentially make a dispel roll). My point was that the punishment for failing the roll shouldn't actively hurt you. Delete the last sentence of the rampage ability.
  13. The final sentence in the Incarnate's monstrous rampage shouldn't exist. If half of the model's function is to eat endless spells, it shouldn't also be punished for trying to do it. I guarantee you that this ensures no one will ever try to eat endless spells with this thing--the risk of killing your own 400 point model is just too significant.
  14. Anybody have good 3rd party alternatives for this lad? I don't particularly like the sculpt and sure as hell aren't paying $200 just to pick it up.
  15. Also, all of their artifacts are garbage, and the nerf to Amulet of Destiny hurt. But most of all, I agree with @woolf. They had an opportunity to make a tricky, unconventional army that always has the opponent thinking on their feet. Give them abilities that subvert the normal rules of the game. But instead, they didn't really do anything interesting. The best thing we got were the dirty tricks...that we only get once...if we roll good enough.
  16. Their performance took a nose dive right out of the gate. They have over-pointed units and janky, random rules that have you rolling more dice than you should just to get basic benefits. It's crazy that they have to roll 4+'s to use their Allegiance Abilities. They only have one decent sub-faction that forces you to lean into shooting. Melee-focused Kruelboyz armies are basically non-existent because of this and heavily limits list building. Hence why there's nothing really to discuss about them. People were afraid of Boltboyz at first, but everyone realized you can't win many games with a small handful of tissue-paper-wearing shooters and no bodies. And then the rest of the army just falls apart against any kind of moderate threat. Kruelboyz are the flimsiest army in the game (barely any armor saves, no ward saves, no easy-to-achieve debuffs), and they don't have the damage to make up for it. Gutrippas are unplayable, imo. They're so bad at their cost-performance. They need to be 140. But there are a number of things that need to come down in points to make melee armies viable. For instance, I think the croc should be sub 300, he's very swingy and dies quickly to any focused fire. The birds are pretty useless warscroll-wise...I don't know how cheap they would need to be to get used. If I sound bitter, it's because I am. Sitting here with a fully primed Kruel army that I have no incentive to paint because bringing them to the table is rough. Still, we can pray to Mork that the GHB will offer some significant points drops for everything, and maybe they'll get back on their feet.
  17. I'm guessing most of the DoK warscrolls will receive very minor tweaks. The big changes will come from subfactions, traits, etc. Maybe some allegiance ability changes? I like not having to roll for shoot-n-scoot and the flat 5+ save for Heartrenders. Losing the mortal reflect is weird, since they obviously use the same bladed bucklers as everyone else, but whatever. Also surprised the warlocks didn't change, since nobody really uses them.
  18. Oh the wrath they're willing to call upon themselves if the trailer turns out to be a joke.
  19. I think they still haven't resolved the core issues with the fundamental game, and now they're adding more fluff, so it probably won't end well. I'm sure some factions will benefit from insane synergies with this thing and they'll likely be the ones that are already dominating. That said, I think generic monsters is a good idea. I just wish they'd suck it up and fix the basic ruleset first.
  20. The incarnate model looks like a dragon fell into some laffy taffy and died.
  21. Adepticon reveals for AoS were pretty lame. Basically 2 new models, some terrain, and another $60 book I won't buy. They could have at least talked about the battletomes that are coming this year, at a minimum. Yeesh...if it was supposed to get me excited about AoS again, boy did they fall far from the goal post. 2/10 show.
  22. We all know Sentinels need their warscroll kicked in the teeth. So it's not fair to compare them to the ghost lads. I'm super happy these guys aren't the NPE powerhouse we all feared they might be. It makes a lot more sense that ghosts could shoot through walls than it does for elves to do it just because they have a dumb bird.
  23. I appreciate the attempt at writing an actually interesting ability for this NH guy, but man is it going to cause some feel-bad moments. It's basically, "I don't have to do anything and get a chance to do 2d6 mortals to your hero every turn." No matter what turn it happens in, you're probably going to be pissed when your hero suddenly takes 2d6 mortals from a dude sitting in a cave on the opposite edge of the board somewhere.
  24. I think it's funny that they committed to four balance updates per year, did one, and then skipped the second.
  25. This is possibly the dumbest update thus far. I actually chuckled while reading it. This screams, "We forgot we had to put out a balance update."
