  1. @AelfordI don't like stormvermin in either of these list. They're just so expensive. If you really want to go with them in the first list, I would bump  them up to 40, so they a least have a chance of retaining the +1 +1 until the first combat.  In the first list I would also rather go with overseer of destruction, since you're going so ratling heavy. Three ratling guns that can reroll hits (and eat warpstone sparks) will deal some pretty good damage! That means your acrh-warlock has to be mobile though, so I would consider dropping the balewind vortex.

  2. @CongratzOne of our strengths is that we have a ton of spellcasting (a lot of spellcasting slots if you will). Your list is rather light on the spellcasting side. However you have two powerfull hammer units. Just make sure to get the charge of with the monks, and not get charged yourself :)

  3. I play skaven and want some movement trays, I see there are magnetic trays out there, but I dont think that's for me. I've found these that I like:
    https://tectoniccraftstudios.com/collections/movement-trays/products/pile-in-round-base-movement-trays?fbclid=IwAR0ciurnbar69xo6TkdwtbHqJkQe_K_JvNmc_vwardE6MOlMiNdcmWp37X8

Does anyone have exprience with these or similar? Do they work out well?

Also does anyone know of European companies that sell these or similar? Shipping from overseas is a killer.

  4. Not that much to do at work today, so instead I made this list:

    Total: 1990 / 1000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 200
    Wounds: 210

A list that basically wants to march across and smash face. The clanrats can screen and grabs objectives. The night runners are there to screen alpha strikes, with their extra movement after setup. The gutter runners might be superfluous actually, but it does give the opponent something to think about.  A list that is weak against good saves, which I tried to mitigate somewhat with Sword of Judgement, and the plague furnace.

    What do you think?

  5. What do you think of this list as an allround list?

  6. The Mortek Crawler has me confused. The Cursed Stele attack says  it kill if the roll is equal to or greater than the targets "wounds characteristic", and then the designers note says the chance of slaying increases as the targets takes damage.
So basically the Cursed Stele roll is compared to the "current wounds" of the target.

I'm confused because I thought "wounds characteristic" meant the number of wounds given in the warscroll (e.g. for abilities such as the stardrakes cavernous jaws). Have I been playing this wrong?

This weekend I'm bringing this list against a friend who's playing the new Ogors book. Does anybody know about anything ogor I should be particularly weary of?  Any other input or tips?

Ps. The stormvermin are only there because I don't have enough clanrats yet :P

Greetings all. New Community member here, though I've played off and on for the last...er...30 years (argh, didn't sound so old in my head). Played many armies but Skaven were my first love, as of encountering them in Advanced Heroquest. Anyway, today I finally finished reading all 111 pages (so far) of this discussion, having started about a week or so ago (I have been doing other things in the meantime) and I wanted to thank you all for all the wisdom and humour shared - it's been enlightening. My next game is on Friday (2000 pts, vs Blades of Khorne) and I'm going to experiment with some of the things I've learned from your good selves. If it goes well, I'll let you know what worked. If it doesn't, I guarantee it'll be a combination of bad deployment, bad dice and forgetting important things when I need them most... Thanks again!

No no!! You got it all wrong! If you lose it because of your no good, treacherous rivals! They infiltrate you ranks, sabotage, vying for power! Also your incompetent minions! Never-never anything you did bad-wrong!

Edit: Also, someone beat me to this.  Horrible piece of technology! Sabotaging my efforts by not showing me the fully updated thread! This smells of rivals trying to make me look stupid-dumb! Just you wait! I will sniff you out, and stab-stab you in the back!

I run 1 or 2 units of 5 usually. They make great cavalry for nabbing objectives or tying up the enemy while your clanrats move up. Can be quite killy on the charge and no battleshock to worry about. 😉

Sounds pretty rad! How would you feel about 1 unit of 10?

  10. Looking for some C&C on this list please :)

  11. @Amradiel How about trying out this list?

So basically my thoughts are that the bell bravery buffs the clanrats, making them harder to chew trough. The small clanrat unit can be used for grabbing objectives and the like, whilst the other unit stays wholly within 13" the bell.
You primary damage output would be the jezzails buffed by the arch-warlock. So screen them well.
Skitterleap on the bell is for the objective game. Being able to send the arch-warlock onto some faraway objective can be clutch. Or joining up with either jezzails or clanrats who went through the gnawholes.

  12. @AliKingHaha! Yeah another 100 monkeys.... Just proxy them for the time being? Would be fun to try a Skaven alfastrike. And with 2 drops you should be able to choose to go fist against most list, except Sylvaneth. And FEC I guess... I think you'll probably have a hard time if you don't get the alfastrike off though (e.g. I the opponent place the army way back).
We totally need that battle report when the time comes :)
