Yep, Tzaangor shields work like Stormcast shields now, you don't need to allocate to them to use their abilities.

Do you know where I can find this? The warscrolls on the GW site aren’t clear enough and we’ve been ruling it the old way.

  2. For the Acolytes and Tzaangors Acanite Shield ability; If the roll fails, does the damage have to go on the model with the shield?  The warscrolls says "before allocating a wound or mortal wound to a model that has an Arcanite Shield."

Sorry to be such a Debbie downer but you really need to know what you are getting yourself into or it's going to be a horrific experience for you. Right now over a 5 game tournament weekend of 200 ish people I would be shocked to see a beastclaw place outside of the bottom 50.

    ...

@TopHatCat are you looking to play tournaments?  If you’re playing just casually at your local flgs then you’ll be fine with BCR. They do struggle with objectives but if trying to overcome that weakness is appealing to you then you can have fun with BCR. Right now I have a 65% or so win-rate with my army.  I’m not in the tourney scene at all though.

  4. @TopHatCat Orruk can't ally with BCR (except for the Braggoth battalion that has specific rules).  Allies are:  Aleguzzler Gargants, Firebellies, Gutbusters, Maneaters, and Troggoths.  Also, I wouldn't advise on taking Beastriders unless you specifically are trying to meet a requirement for a battalion.  Frostlords and Huskards are strictly better.

I think it's better to have 6 enlightened than the battalion and myself I'd go for 15 chaos warriors instead of the Tzaangors and make it 9 enlightened.

Shouldn't I have at least some Tzaangors so I can use the Tzaangor Shaman's spell  to add more models to the unit?

Guy I bought the models from only had 3 Enlightened :(

If I like the army I might invest in more Enlightened. I just was gifted 40+ Chaos Warriors and 5 Chaos Chosen. As well as a Curseling and a Fatemaster. Should I try to work any of these in? I might actually be able to reach close to 2000 now.

  7. Playing my baby Tzeentch army soon, seems like a lot of the units benefit from being within or wholly within an amount of inches from one another. Is this how Tzeentch is played? Should I be positioning my army as one big blob of models?

Note: My main army is Beastclaw Raiders. Plays way different.

  8. Dipping my toes into Tzeentch and got this army coming to me. I have what is in the list plus 20 Blue Horrors, 20 Brimstone  Horrors, and 10 additional Acolytes. Any advice on spells, artifacts, traits to take? Or just Advice in general on what I have?  I’m not looking to buy any more models unless I decide to switch to Tzeentch as my primary army.

  9. I have a Stonehorn and a Thundertusk assembled with the saddle for either a Frostlord or Huskard.  Basically everything is glued except riders, no magnets.

I’ve got two unassembled SC boxes and I’m definitely going to magnetize the heads to swap out the type of mount, but should I glue one as single-rider and one as double? Magnets on the saddles too? I’m super lazy.

  10. I have 10 Frost Sabres (Fenrisian Wolves) and 2 SC boxes incoming.

My main question is how to use the units. I guess it depends on the battle plan. The FLoSH is easy, he’s there to aloha strike heroes. Hunter is for sneaky objective grabbing or hero killing. I’m still not sure if the mournfang packs should be split up or all 8 ran together.

  11. Running this soon and I still haven’t figured out how to combine units. So far I’ve been splitting up the Frostlord and Huskard and assigning each a few mournfang. I’m wondering now if I shouldn’t just have the two behemoths run together and then have all the mournfangs together after a different objectives.

Troggoths are just filler. I’ve got more stuff coming in the mail.

  12. Beastclaw Raiders has no magic outside of allies and has difficulty competing on model count. I was thinking, maybe there’s something to be said for playing to BCR’s  strengths?  Forget magic altogether. Don’t try to load up on Mournfangs, Yhetees, or cats.   Take your max allowed of behemoths and fill the rest with chaf. Play super fast and “win” the game in the first couple of rounds. Thoughts?
