  1. Cheers for the reply! Yeh I think my friend is saying we should all go 500pts first to see if we want to continue before we spend more cash haha. I guess the second list is easier for me to achieve because of my start collecting boxset but would the first list be more effective on the board?
  2. Hey all. I'm a new player to AoS and my friend is organising some 500pt games for when COVID allows. I bought the Cities of Sigmar handbook + Greywater Fastness boxset honestly like well over a year ago but I'm only now getting round to actually putting it together. Can anyone recommend a decent 500pt list for Greywater Fastness? I know they're not the strongest army but thematically I love them. Think my friends have a Stormcast army, a Nighthaunt army and possibly one Skaven. So far I've built my Warden King, Cogsmith and - apparently - 1x Ironbreaker so that's a set of 10x Irondrakes out of the window haha. Choosing Gyrocopter > Gyrobomber.
  3. Yeh I’ve got the Battletome in order it was just a few things that baffled me a little reading some lore on the wiki’s out there. In regards to the names, just as an example, there is a character now referred to as ‘Lord Chamberslough’ who was once known as They Iron Chamberlain’. So do the FEC “call” him The Iron Chamberlain through their delusion and Lord Chamberslough is an outside name change, or when they “call” him Lord Chamberslough do they think they’re calling him The Iron Chamberlain? I know it’s all super irrelevant to the game but I find their lore fascinating so wanted to try fill some holes in my logic.
  4. I wasn’t sure if I’d necessarily the best thread but I wanted to ask people a FEC lore question. Please direct me elsewhere if there is a lore thread on here. Basically, as I understand it the FEC are all completely delusional and see themselves as how we’d generalise a medieval kingdom with castles, a king, court feasts, servants, knights on horses etc. but is actually the polar opposite in reality. Now my questions are: - If this is true and they do believe in their own delusion why then do the characters have names such as King Goretalon etc.? Surely they would simply have human names? - If they do believe in their delusion how do they fight side-by-side at times with Nagash’s armies or do they see them under delusion as well? It isn’t clear at what point of Nagash’s reign the Carrion King served prior to his transformation. - If they do believe in their delusion how then are they able to raise dragons from the dead etc.? What could they see this as through their delusion?
  5. Hi all, completely green new member to AOS and Warhammer in general in terms of playing. Collected models as a kid but really looking to get into it after a couple of mates started playing. I’ve ordered the Sylvaneth battle tome and a start collecting box. Got a few queries: - I think they only play 1k for now but I’ll likely build for 2k as that’s what my local GW shop plays. Any sort of “must have” purchased after the start collecting box? Maybe another? - Little bit overwhelmed with all the info, is there a more beginner friendly lists etc. to go for? - General AOS question, probably going to make me sound very dense, but when it comes to summoning how does it actually work in terms of model count? So I turn up to a battle with my 1k army. Are parts of this used to summon (Branchwraith dryad summon for example) or am I summoning extra models? So I’d need to buy models for a 1k list but also extra dryads, TL’s, wyldwoods etc . purely for summoning. So in effect I could end up with more than 1k pts on the table. Probably made me sound foolish I just wanted an idea of just how much I’ll have to spend. Thanks for any responses
  6. Hi guys, quick-ish question as a first time BoC player. Grabbed my Start Collecting boxset and was wondering what to make with it: - Ungors or Ungor Raiders? - Cygor or Ghorgon? Also, do I bother making your standard bearers etc.? Just don’t want to waste money making models I effectively wouldn’t come to use.
  7. Hi all, first time poster and very recent reader of the forum. I've just decided to get into AoS after last buying models about 15 years ago. I've never actually played the game before but come from a D&D background so used to dice games. I decided to get into KO as I love steampunk and their very original themes. I bought the battletome and the battleforce this week so will be building that up soon. I have a few friends who have also just started AoS and the aim is to eventually join our local gaming club. Now... I am a super competitive person and although I know at the moment KO are a pretty subpar army I'd like to try and at least be as competitive as possible. So really then my question is what are the most optimal 1k lists I can field? I'm reading through the battletome and it's a little information overload at the minute but I think the battleforce is a good base. Thanks for any answers I receive.
