  1. I did that once in college. Professor was actually delighted by my knowledge >.< . Some wiki pages are really good!
  2. It‘s not only Gal- ... errr ... Alarielle though. Papa Nurgle will surely profit immensely from the circle of life steamrolling everyone.
  3. I’ll admit, the summary sounds... not bad, but rather super boring. Easy victories aren‘t fun, they‘re meaningless (from a perspective of storytelling). Sacrifice gives meaning. Hardship gives meaning. If the trip to Mordor was a big camping holiday, we wouldn‘t still be talking about LOTR. With that being said, I‘ll hold my judgement until I‘ve read the stuff myself. Too often summaries are tainted by the views of the one summarising them.
  4. I might be unpopular with some, hoping for Kurnothi. But I‘m down for destruction aelves! With hornes, hoves & fangs! P.S. Ogroid would be great, too.
  5. The german translation differs because the english language doesn't have a word for "Elben", there are only elves. Tolkien, as far as I know, worked very closely with the german translator and requested the word "Elben" instead of "Elfen" (elves), as "Elben" has no connection to pixies, fairies and the like. So he very much liked the differentiation that was/is possible within the german language. If anything, everyone should be using the word "Elben".
  6. Well; for me the main question with everything story or lore related is always „which army would GW like to sell. What would look cool“. That‘s the reasoning behind my thoughts. Shadow aelves in cahoots with shadow demons empowering them, with both sides vary of the other just sounds like a very good theme.
  7. My wild guess is, that Malerion and Belakor have formed an alliance of sort which also gives us a clear glimpse of how Malerion Aelves will look & play. The reason being thar both, M & B have been severely betrayed by the Chaos gods. The former would have become the next Phenix King. Instead he got charred almost to death. The latter realised quite some time ago, that he was seen as pawn & and a joke by his former masters. Not sure on their exact relationship, though. I expect both to hold some sway over the realm of shadows, though.
  8. Damm, that last one... the one and only demon prince is back. Lumineth finally look like a proper army. A really big and gorgeous one. (One could even say they are the chosen sons ;).) Soulblight will come and so far everything seen looks spot on. Starting with the cursed city which looks jaw dropping and marvelous. So good in fact, I look forward to the expansions Blackrock Fortress style. That Kurnothi, that ogre, that mage... that... everything. =D
  9. Good to hear! It's important to test stuff out first. But then again you always said you would. I'm pretty sure one general's handbook in, we will be more than fine. (Fine meaning, "the place most armies should be, to make games fun & engaging". F*** Seraphon. =D)
  10. Well, Point changes will heavily depend on how they'll treat Seraphon, LRL etc. My Gut feeling is that, apart from Painbringers, Slaangors & maybe Twin Souls I'd rather have point changes to the top dogs than changes to our units. I understand the argument, that some of our rules look uninspired - although I'm not necessarily of that opinion - but I kinda feel that we got one of the better books in terms of feel & play style. We weren't Hedonites of Slaanesh if we could play like Orruks or DoK. Where would be the fun in that?
  11. GW should adjust its strategy for people like me (limited time for the hobby, have to choose wisely, what to buy). Since the SoB I basically wanted to buy every army, but bought NONE, because the next thing always seemed a tad cooler than the last. So, GW, how a bout a BIIIIIG, FAAAAT blunder?
  12. Wow, some of the best humans they‘ve ever sculpted. What a wonderful range! I‘m instantly in love (meaning bewitched) with that range of models. They‘re a good creative counterpoint to my SoB (Sisters of Battle, you know, the stiff & righteous ones), too.
  13. Should they tinker with the Ironclad, I think it'd be essential to alter Frigattes. Points, Endrinworks & +1 Fly High capacity (to get 10 + 1 Hero in one Frigatte). All good candidates.
  14. I find that more likely. especially since the KO could be seen as the Grungi faction of dwarves. could also imagine a Valaya-HGrungi teacup faction with a mother goddess, father god vibe.
  15. I think the spell from the bottle should be threatening WITHOUT being cast. You have to tell your opponent anyway & once he knows and can easily play around you've invested a lot. But if the threat itself is enough to play into your hands, you're doing it right. Spell in a Bottle has to be relevant without being cast, otherwise the investment is too steep (ignoring lists that dabble with Stormcasts and other sorcerers and make it a feature not a gimmick).
  16. Probably not. And I have to say, that I'm all in all very happy with the new book. It's just that there are a few small things that could or should get "fixed" or to be both more precise and the lack of a better word "greased". To me (and I'm not talking blunders like the Admirals melee Command Ability called "Repel boarders" only being usable in our turn), these are two things. Aethergold on Balloonboys (hence wounds instead of models) & fly high (and almost more importantly full movement) with 10 & 15 models whereas 11 & 16 would make list building & playing in general WAY better. But not as in "more competitively" (that too, I suppose) but giving us more freedom to build cool lists & the like. As of now we can't properly use our heroes on foot & arkanauts (outside of screens and objective holders) without an Ironclad. It's probably what irks me the most about KO right now.
  17. As you mention Riggers... . Do you guys believe that aether gold shares could be changed from 10+ models to 10+ wounds in the near future? I have the feeling that the gold could end up on that list of FAQ'd things sooner rather than later.
  18. This is one of the things I see getting FAQ‘d pretty soon to be usable in either combat phase.
  19. I‘d say Gloomspite & KO are in my opinion how books should look like. The former beautifully combines a lot of different models (unlike Orruk Warclans), the latter with the new book rides on a strong vision and pretty unique playstyle without going overboard. They‘re not perfect, aim for the right values & ideas. Slaanesh & Bonereapers on the other hand are bonkers. With the latter at least having an interesting theme. Still they are the worst. The aforementioned Orruks are super lazy. An honorable mention goes to the CoS, for bringing a bunch of old stuff together & in more than just a super lazy way. I would have prefered new models etc. tough for such a vital part of the lore of AoS
  20. I agree. Urbaz seems like a clear winner. And as long as you don‘t force yourself into a situation in which you have to have the extra compartments the breath ain‘t that big of a trade-off. Urbaz with escort wing feels like the foundation of a well rounded army.
  21. Absolutely. Buffed Khemist ability on a Balloonboy would be extremely good. Probably good enough to influence winrates.
  22. Got my Aetherwar Box yesterday, just like my battle tome. German version of the book has a big translation blunder in it. The named skyports charts miss the specifications when only a certain character as general gets a certain ability. RAW in german, I could take Barak Urbaz Baloonmaster and was „forced“ to give him the upgraded chemists ability. Which is... much better on a guy that is as mobile as him while never being tucked away in a boat.
  23. Khemist also halves the movement & disables flying high of the frigate. Man, he feels so weird in that otherwise nice army.
