  1. I would have tried it where it not for my Wanderer Army being green already. 😅
  2. That's also what I was trying to say with the time argument. I am just happy if I can play a game. Maybe I should start a poll some time in the future about how long ago it was for a player since the last real AoS match. I haven't played a game since March 2020 (only one 600ish points mock up game with a close friend). @l1censetochill yeah the people in my area are also very relaxed and we don't take the game seriously at all. 😄 (I guess this is why it hurts all the more to read the edgy stuff online) I definetly will put up a poll about your favorite Lumineth Great Nation when all the new stuff releases tomorrow! So pumped for the Tyrionic Nations!!
  3. Regarding the complaints about NPE: I have the (maybe naive) opinion that this phase of outrage will settle down and people will make up their minds. (Or find the next Army to complain about if one wants to be cynical.) Most of us can't play anyway due to the Pandemic and it will be a long time until any sort of pick up games can take place again in most parts of the world. It saddens me too how there are so many misunderstandings and disagreements about the Lumineth. To the people who get worked up about arguments with folks who want to dislike Lumineth for the sake of it: Your time is more valuable than arguing via the Internet. (sorry if this sounds patronizing) however, I feel especially during a Pandemic - the human mind does not need more feelings of frustration and the notion of a never ending task of arguments. Much love ❤️
  4. If the blurbs on reddit are true - we are getting rules for another 2 Great Nations! Iam currently over the moon (and sun). This is the best news ever! 🥳
  5. Thanks =) The Grass is Warlord Games "Summer Grass" https://store.warlordgames.com/products/summer-grass?_pos=2&_sid=a438973b8&_ss=r I see that it is sold out at the moment :/ but mine was old stock from my local gaming store.
  6. I have deleted my Facebook Account. Could you please explain what was the theory @Khaedhras? 😃
  7. In the Beasts of Chaos Battletome there was the mention of a Progenitor to all Beastmen. Could it be that Kragnos is that Progenitor? Far fetched I know, however "my people are gone" could mean that the Beastmen are Worshipping the Chaos Gods and not Kragnos the Godbeast. anyway, just my two cents
  8. @MiNibbler this looks so fresh! 😃 So close to my new scheme also lol! I am currently rebasing and making very slow progress. I am unsure about the Gemstone colour for the helmet though. Could anyone help me out? I was trying purple and I don't want it to be red since I want to avoid all three primary colours to be present on the Model. As an aside: I hope some Tyrionic Nation will have Yellow robes
  9. I find it really funny that the Lumineth apparently have the Wanderers trick now with the geomantic Ley Lines, as a Wanderer Player it feels I have taken the right Path. 😄
  10. @DreadmundI don't see much negativity in this Thread, as for me: I am happy with the reveals. Concerning the Ymetrica Rules and Lore: I don't want to sound whiny, but I always ask myself "How hard can it be to paint a Model in the Iliatha or Syar paint- scheme when planning to take photos for the Online Store?" I just wanted to say, because the discussion came up. This focus on Ymetrica did put me off at the beginning. I know that's the Path GW operates with all Factions in AoS but it is starting to get tiresome and I don't see the merit in this approach. But well, that's the only thing I am a little bit upset about. Hopefully we will take a closer look at the Loreseeker and Calligraph today! 😄
  11. Such cool Lore that the Scinari are weaving the Banners for the Bladelords! 🥰 I felt, that defensive Banner effects were also a nice throwback to Warhammer Fantasy. Itching to see the whole Warcsroll - but I guess Bladelords will shine when buffed by yet unknown Spells we might get or some charge Bonus like @LuminethMagementioned that also seems appropiate. The Bladelords should have 1 Wound though - It would feel out of place when compared to the Stoneguard, at least to me. I am also looking to buy 10 Bladelords - the Models are just so beautiful. 😊
  12. Interesting to see where this will lead and how the rules writers will handle this, for sure. I still have the naive hope that we will get rules for a Tyrionic Nation (like Helon that was mentioned in this weatherforecast advert) but deep down I know that I am wrong haha.
  13. The rules for the twins are one of the most flavourful/original I have ever seen. So excited to see what their story is like! 🥳
  14. The Metal is also really unique and shiny! Great work! 😁 Nice touch with the High Sentinel atop the small Ruins. 🥰
  15. Have you decided on a certain main colour for your bases yet? This can change so much when maybe a single array of flowers in a conplementary colour is added. Maybe a snowy Base would remove the focus from the pale cloth and emphasize the Plume and Armour? Considering my own pondering about paint schemes - it also depends so much on the Angle - one time I couldn't stand to look at the shields of my Vanari because I liked everything about them bar the shields. That has changed after a few experiments and now the Shield-Rune and its surrounding colour tie it all together I think I have said it before - but I like your Scheme a lot and I if I were you - I would finish the Base and see how it works from there. In my own decision process: For example I chose simple green Grass Bases again and they may be plain but they complement my other main colours (Blue, yellow, white) really well and without the grass it wouldn't look as good to me as it is now. Edit: Also I painted all my Base Rims with Abadonn Black, as I think it is the least distracting method and it works really well.
  16. Hmm a silly thought, but perhaps the Wind Temple Warriors could be nomadic? Sure they would have some Holy Sites but otherwise would prefer to roam around more than the other Temple affiliated Aelves. Then it could be explained why they hop along the great Teclian Crusade.
  17. Holy Cow! A LOT to unpack. This needs a bit of time to sink in. The Video with the speech was a very nice touch Awesome all around, I really love the Vanari Bladelords these are completely wonderful. And not in my wildest dreams I would have foreseen a Terrain Piece. Love the Scinari Kalligraph too and he is a nice nod to Lotann.
  18. @LuminethMage is this excerpt from the Soulbound RPG? It sounds really interesting, sort of like a Trojan Horse ruse by the Ossiarchs (?). It is a strange decision by GW to situate so many named locations in Ymetrica, but that's how they roll I guess ... . So I am not innovative when I am suggesting we might see moss covered Elephants? In anticipation of Saturday I built the rest of my Dawnriders and they are really striking to behold! I know I am late to the party in that respect, but when I glued on the Spears, the Riders had won my heart.😄
  19. I for one am a typical Elgi - I like Aelves and almost no one else. 😁 I have a soft spot for Goblins and Brayherds in my heart though. And I like the normal Human type of Army but the direction GW is taking the Humans often does not fully appeal to me. As for the Grand Alliances: I am an Order player through and through. I like seeing other armies on the table and their look but could just never see myself collecting Nurgle or Slaves to Darkness or Ogres, etc.
  20. Not much is covered in depth in the Battletome. Government: Concerning the Monarchies: We don't know. There is a mention of Matriarchs in Iliatha - for the other Teclican Nations we are left almost clueless. One could argue however that some could be a Magocracy, ruled by an elite of Mages. In fact I just found a mention of Syar being a Magocracy on page 30 in the short story about the missing envoy to Ulgu. There is also the mention of a capital of the Nation of Syar called Ar-Ennascaths where they hold a competition in crafting objects. About the Cathallars: Almost nothing specific is known. There is the Info that it is an Order of some sort. They tend to not wear gloves or shoes to better connect with the Realm. Their demeanour is measured and slow and they dont want to give in to sudden emotions. I am not sure about the Cathallars leading the Troops but it is mentioned somewhere - I just can't find it at the moment it is basicly 1 sentence.
  21. I love the Sentinel Idea with the Steedmaster Sword -might have to steal that for my planned Great Company of 20 Sentinels. How did you do the bases?
  22. When I started playing AoS I often wished that deployment zones would be further apart. I play a lot of Medieval Total War and a lot of fun for me lies in the maneuvering of forces when the Armies are still relatively far away from each other. So yeah, I don't want to bore people to death, but the tactical maneuvering always appealed to me a lot. So in a Tabletop setup it could be difficult to implement with the Objective based scenarios we have now. So in the end, I am daydreaming here - so I voted agnostic. I am totally happy with the game as it is now and as @Maddpainting said it hugely depends on the Armies and Lists. I like that some armies are strong in the Magic Phase for example and can open up with a conflagration of deadly Spells. I mean what is more High Fantasy then that? 😊
  23. If we ever get a Vanari Scout-Unit or Ranger-Unit what could it be? Could it be a Spear Throwing Unit? Slingers that shoot used Aetherquartz? I find this interesting, cause in the Battletome it reads something like: "The Lumineth have abandoned the use of camouflage-techniques, since shining bright and blinding your foe is way more effective" .. etc..
  24. A great Thread! Even if I am not that vocal in commenting, know that it is so heartwearming to read the responses. The Hobby has always stayed with me and I visit this Community several times a day to just read about painting progress on some project or about the newest speculations. As an Art-History Student I enjoy watching colour-theory videos or just to collect images of painted miniatures for inspiration and so on. I don't put a burden on myself to paint my miniatures and I only try to paint when I am really in the mood. So, not having painted anything since October 2020 didn't really bother me. Alas I arrived at a dead end with my former paint scheme and didn't want to continue it. However with the new Lumineth announced I am so ready to jump back in! This new release contains everything I ever wanted (Ballistae, foot Heroes, a Banner-Bearer Hero, Swordmasters.) Please don't look closely (the yellow ones are only test models as I am lacking certain paints at the moment) but these yellow Lumineth are the start of an overhaul for my small army. Can't wait to see my Lumineth arrayed in shinning yellow and bringing the light!
  25. This was a good article. 🙂 I now finally understand that these Element-Spirits are a quirk of Hysh. Before I thought: "Well if Lumineth can bond with their Realm in a unique way, why can't any other race do that in another realm?" Maybe it is a bit of both: Hysh's inherent nature of introspection, knowledge, intellect, etc. paired with the Aelven ability to obsess about a field of knowledge and the Lumineth' strive for forgiveness. Grasping at straws through Quotes and making silly speculations: "In the case of a river aelementor, this would involve experiencing both the bite of ice floes and the surging power of floods." Could this mean Ice Themed Elementals or Lumineth River Warriors who can use Ice? Awesome! "Those supplicants deemed unworthy would simply drown." I can already see undead Aelementor Aspirants in the Vampire-Pirate Faction in 4 Years.
