  1. @Televiper11Im not supercompetetive, but do play at tournaments and have some tough match-ups from time to time. But the way I interpret these data, if you play Nurgle (Maggotkin) it means you play with Nurgle allegiance (the book/battletome) and the way i see it the nurgle allegiance abilities arent very strong in combination with all the units we have in the current meta. Yes witherstave is good (maybe the best artefact in the game), but still isnt enough as you see. We have heavy magic lists with thricefold, still isnt enough as the data indicates. We are resilient, still this isnt enough.... Havin a good battletome with high winpercentages means even less experienced players (like myself) can win with an army. Yeah you can win with urgle and end up on the high end in tournaments, but that counts for the tactical good players who play nurgle. Well anyhow, like you said, it is not that bad, and besides if less people are playin nurgle the change of a mirrormatch is smaller, cause nurgle mirrormatches are kinda awkward.
  2. I got these images from honest wargamer site. As far as Im concerned it is very obvious Nurgle is on the waning site of its power. The meta percentage (amount in percentage of nurgle on tournaments) slowly declines as does the winning percentage, From 49,7 % to 41,5% (that 41 % is the newest data). I find the decline in the winning percentage a lot...almost 10 %. Im sad
  3. Well I played a friendly game yesterday to practice with some list I wanted to use in an upcoming event. I played against some Gloomspite troll list with a Hag and some other -1 to hit trolls and trolls with 5+ resilient save and healing....damn, oh yeah and they hit really hard! Got tabled in round 4. Differenc in VP wasnt that big, we played total conquest. I had: Glottkin (blades putrefaction), Verminlord corruptor (with witherstave), epitome, gutrot. 30 plaguebearers, 10 blightkings and 20 marauders. I also added prismatic pallisade, had some points left. I finished setting up first and took first turn to buff me up. Failed all my casts with the exception of mystic shield I got that one thanks to re-roll casting with epitome. Sigh that started out really dissapointing. In my movement only my marauders made it an end up to the table with a six to run. Still 12’’ fom trolls. Gutrot and his kings got from the side of the board to catch the enemy objective and try to make a charge. I popped a tree from gutrot to have a tree in his zone in vicinity of the objctive and then failed all charges..... his turn....troll boss kills my mirror epitome...damn. He hits like a truck and i loose also all my marauders.....damn.. Luckily i won roll of, but again very unlucky with my casts ...... and the downhill continued made some tactical mistakes cause my motivation was demolished the same time the mirror and the marauders where slain.... I noticed that it is really difficult to try and keep the spirit up when your unclucky and then you already have lost the game. Anyhow gonna try another list now. Since i dont expect a lot of -1 in the upcoming event (well maybe here and there), but i do expect a lot of hit first strike last things, my answer is my favorite unit........blightkings! In a blightcyst! So next what i will try out is much simpler..... Harbinger (blesssings, witherstave), epitome (ally), festus (blades put), lord of blight (artefact?? Rustfang?) 3*10 blightkings 20 marauders chrono cogs blightcyst (I actually think i dont need Gutrot, the mission i will play are shifting objctives, total conquest and focal points.)
  4. You might want to consider lord of afflictions. I find him very usefull to carry rustfang, be a fast flyin rsilient mortal who lets all rotbringer units re-roll 1 to hit. (Including himself and obiously all the blightkings in range) Fly him around touching units with his rustfang.
  5. Good to see some activity. I just picked up skaven pestilens and have been ploughing through these pages here to get me some insights in the army besides the book and warscrolls. @AhrimanHow do you play this army? As a masterclan?
  6. I promised to post a pic of my verminlord labrat. well here it is, almost finished. Didnt turned out how I imagined, which is partly due to my painting skills and the choice of the colorscheme. Anyhow, I like him and now fell in love with those Nurgle rats.....
  7. Good to see some action here in the Nurgle thread. Dont go Bloab if you want to be competetive, it is a great model but to shine he has to be close to enemies and his spell needs to go of, but he is to flimsy and wil, get down very fast. Glottkin with plaguebearers is great indeed! Put a demon behind the pb for their re-roll 1 to save. im planning on bringing glott with pb and gutrot with 10 blightkings for deepstrike. (So no need for harbinger, cause those kings will pop up behind enem y lines) And i f you want advice on plaguemonks, dont go that road...as I did. Cause you find yourself buying plaguemonks and the starteset pestilens and for you know it you’re a skaven player to....🤣
  8. Nurgle loves hugs, and the playstyle to I guess. So if you have a harbinger round Bloab has a 5+ xtra save, besides put some blightkings before/close to him and you have some extra protection. Then for hordes you can cast the rancid spell, if he might face some hero use his own spell.... which is really good. That spell saved me from Durthu once (admitedly I had some luck), I killed Durthu in one go the second round with bloabs spell and dmg from shooting with bloab and hitting with blightkings.
  9. I hope it works out as great as i plan! Will show when it’s finished. Your work looks great BTW,i would be happy with it.
  10. When someone mentions a Verminlord Corruptor can be very strong in a Nurgle army. And you agree, after thinkin it over, and run to the local GW shop and then it’s time to paint him up. Cant wait to see how he works in the list I have in mind. I think I will paint him pinkish and white and red eyes, like a labratory rat who just escaped and wants revenge... BTW: Does blades of putrefaction stack with his plaguereapers? So I get 2 MW on sixes?
  11. And I appriciate it! I read your posts and i realize you know your Nurgle and the mechanics of the game so I take your advice seriously. (And yes spoils warscroll is kinda....meh) But Now I ve had some time to think it over (been thinkin about for an hour now), and at the horizon i see the verminlord. Yes, the longer I think about the more I become enthusiastic. An eztra two spells! So the list has 6 spells! He is a daemon hero nurgle so he would fullfill what i need around those plaguebearers, and can dish out damage! Thanx again! Nurgle approves!
  12. Thx for the advice! I definitely will consider this, which also means I have to get myself a verminlord and paint it up. In the mean i can try to play with what I wrote down here and when vermi is ready try to squeeze him in. I see your reasoning, but hat frightens me a little is the loss of the LoB, the -1 from PB themselfs + -1 LoB in melee + -1 horrific opponent to hit sounds so good. On the other hand do those plaguebearers need it and it sucks up CP. Im just gonna try them out all 3! And see how hey perform...
  13. So I was thinking of using the next list. The list is based from a list that performed very well in AOS1 at some tournament. Glottkin Lord Of Blights (general grandfathers blessing) Gutrot Spume Spoikpix scrivener (witherstave) The contorted epitome (ally) 30 plaguebearers 10 blightkings 2*5 blighkings I buy 1 cp and should have 2000 points now. (The original list had the cyst battalion with glott general, lob with rustfang and the poxbringer with tome of thousand poxes and the spell favoroud poxes) So i switched the poxbringer for a scrivener (also hero daemon for locus and to carry witherstave next to plafguebearers), to compensate for the loss of the wizard iadded the epitome. (Same points as blightcyst battalion and the rend of the battalion os now a little compensated with the re-roll ones spell from epitome, the model is fast durable the the spell has a hreat range. Furthermore the fight last rule might help a lot for Nurgle) what do you guys think? If glott manages to live for some rounds those plafguebearers might be a very hard tarpit to remove with both glotts spell, lob ca and horrific opponent from glott, re-rolling 1 to save from spoil 6 to hit re-roll for opponent. I have two blightking units (5 man) for protecting home objectives or help next to glott. I have gutrot for the ambush tryin to catch objectives in opponents territory and hitting some enemies. I hope to place the epitome in such a way that his spell reaches the units gutrot and his men will charge. So again what you guys think or any advice?
  14. I have used the following list with devastating results for my opponents: Harbinger (witherstave) contorted epitome (ally) 10 putrid blightkings 2*5 putrid blightkings The epitome is really usefull in a Nurgle army. It can cast two spells (and re-roll fails), it has an ability to let opponents fight last thingie and her spell let you re-roll hit rolls of 1 against d3 enemy units. Very good for you blightkings!
  15. Well done! I think if you can end up in the postion you ended and win some games in such a competetive environment is an accomplishment nonetheless. Nice to see you had a great timeand thx for sharing your experience.
  16. Fairly easy to read. 1 is a skull 6 is the Sylvaneth logo. 2, 3, 4, 5 are the amount of leaves on a twig. I love those dice and gonna buy me sme more I think.
  17. Hey all, As an avid Nurgle player, I recently checked the Sylvaneth again. In the past I especially liked Drycha and Spite revenants, but specially the spite revenants where not attractive to me with respect to their dmg output. But.. this all has changed and I would say my dream came true, I feel it is possible to win games now with both Drycha and outcasts. So I’m tryin to figure out a nice army, which woukd let me win most games. (I dont want to use the term competetive, cause I dont play at major tournaments like LVO etc. etc., but I dont mind to have a maxed out list) So with this in mind, I came up with the following: Winterleave Glade (or maybe dreadwood or if the army would fit both even better so i can switch between glades with my models) Outcast battalion Drycha, Arch-revenant, Branchwraith 3*20 spite revenants 6*Kurnoth hunters with greatswords. endless spell spiteswarm If I’m correct this shoukd be 1650 points so still some room for other units. Anyone here who would share their thoughts in how to fill in the blank, or maybe switch out some spites instead of the maximum I took for all three? Thx in advance.
  18. Well I will get my handbook next saturday and most likely will play a couple of meeting engaments (1000 points games). I love it that I can take the following list now. Lord of Afflictions Harbinger of Decay Sorcerer 2* Pusgoyle Blightlords 2*5 Blightkings Ill most likely put the LoA an PGB in the spearhead. The rest of the army will be in the main body, or i might leave one unit of blightskings for the rearguard. Before i decide i must have a look at the battleplans and see how the three separate set-ups work in all those battleplans. I must say, Im a little excited I like to play smaller battles from time to time and this new format looks very attractive as a new playstyle.
  19. Im building beast of chaos models to at the moment, but I will put them in the battalion to get Nurgle keyword. I want to benefit from the wheel to. Anyhow since you have sparepoints, you might consider the battalion to, give you acces to the wheel and an extra artefact. (Since you can only give it to the shaman and hes neither, Rotbringer, Mortal or Daemon you have to give him some realm artefact, but some of those are nice. I gonna give mine the extra CP one. Especially with the new command abilities this comes quite in hand) I like your list btw!
  20. But does so with 20 marauders. I find them great especially as a screan in the back against teleporting units. I still cant use my list though, i normally brought portal and geminids for 100 points. So no more geminids for me...guess ill have to bring the quicksilver sword.
  21. @sal4m4nd3r Nice battle reports. It pleases me to see at least someone can play the blightkings. In some groups the blightkings get so trashtalked my heart breaks when i read it. (Always the same mantra: blightkings suck when they have -1 to hit, when you run blightcyst everyone negates the rend, if you deploy blightkings your in to loose for sure, etc. etc.) So again great to see you did quite well at the tournament. Im going to run Glotkin to on the next event i will participate in. Not exactly the same list as yours but there will be lots of blightkings and some marauders. My experience with Nurgle this far is that it really doesnt matter if I bring Rotbringers or a daemon list, everytime i play daemons I think: should have brought my mortals and when i bring my daemons vice versa. Then I look at my personal statistics and see it doesnt matter what i bring cause last half year I played this game I have a 30% win regardless of the lists i brought. (not much data at the moment, but its how it is right now) Next to havin a good army, dice luck, tactical insight your piece of mind is also bery important, exactly what you said. Last weekend I played with the thricefold battalion: Double GUO, Rotigus, 60 plaguebearers and 20 marauders spell portal and geminids. I played some battle with diagonal border against stormcast with balistas. He had put the balistas in the skies, and since I know he can drop on my side i placed my marauders in one line with a spacing of 0.9 inch 9" from the back and sides. Then i gave him the first turn and obviously he couldnt place the balistas where he wanted and I saw his spirit go down, since he couldnt use the tactics he wanted. He had to place his balistas on some weird spot, where still could shoot but he wasnt happy with it. He shot at Rotigus, who took a lot of damage, but lived. Then i placed the portal and had a lucky plaguestoem roll on his General 3d3, i rolled two fives and a six...bye bye general. That was battlerohnd 1 still and again i broke his spirit for the second time, loosing his general completely shocked him and i dont think he had the spirit to continue anymore. He did contunue to play, but it was a mental victory for me already and eventually a victory for Nurgle. Long story short, I love playin Nurgle!
  22. @Ben__Halford Yeah, with the exeption of Rotigus, the GUO's can cast Plaguewind (or plaguestoem as it's called in the thricefold), but when the spell is casted then it can't be casted anymore that round, cause you can cast each spell only once. @sal4m4nd3r try option c, with Marauders in front.... he can easily keep up. (Im so curious how he will work competetively)
  23. mmm yeah, that is something to think over. Those 200 points are quitte expensive (for some reason someone finds nurgle abilities very good), but the extra attack of glotts CA and LoB CA do need the nurgle keyword, and the extra movment from the wheel followed by +1 to wound in the next turn and then reset back for another turn +1 to wound are also tempting. Maybe the battalion will be less pricey in the new gens handbook...fingers crossed.
