  1. It was a friendly game so I wasn't keeping count but but the Sun took out a good chunk out of his 40 man Gor unit, 9 mortal wounds to his Ghorgon, a couple of Bullgors, and several units of Ungor. In combat the changeling killed 7 Bestigor because his hero with the crazy Gavespawn Axe was nearby. The Bestigors took him down ton1 wound and I was able to retreat but unfortunately the Nurgle Beastmen dona thing where when one of their units is wiped out they do a mortal wound to things within a certain distance on a +2 and that's now my Changeling was killed. The Sun that far into his army did ensure that there was no way it would wander into my units and I credit it plus my Summoner's casting for deleting pretty much his entire left flank.
  2. Last game I played I deployed Changeling right in the heart of the enemy army and cast Purple Sun. It was hilarious!
  3. What are everyone's thoughts on this Invader's list I'm thinking up? Supreme Sybarites 120 Keeper of Secrets (General) 360 Skin-Taker Sinistrous Hand Gryph-Feather Charm Born of Damnation Syll'Esske (General) 200 Lash of Slaanesh Shalaxi Helsbane 340 Living Whip Progeny of Damnation The Contorted Epitome 200 Hysterical Frenzy Infernal Enrapturess 140 The Rod of Misrule The Masque 120 Battleline: Daemonette x30 300 Hellstrider x5 100 Claw-Spears Hellstrider x5 100 Claw-Spears Endless Spells: Malevolent Maelstrom 20 Maxing out Heroes for the battalion plus the Rod should supply a steady stream of command points for both Keeper and Syll'Esske. Keeper and Shalaxi stick together and go hero hunting for DPs and can support each other with heals while Syll'Esske leads the rest in claiming objectives/forming the battle line. Not quite sure what units I should also buy to have on hand for summoning with DPs. More Daemonettes and Seekers most likely. Maybe some Fiends to help out against big blocks of multi wound units?
  4. Hello again sorry for the extreme confusion on my part but I'm getting conflicting answers to my question so I hope to reword it more clearly. Depending on what is the right answer may affect whether I play Khorne or not. OK here is the scenario. Its the combat phase on Battle Round 1 and I use the Leave None Alive CA on my Bloodletters to attack twice. Fast Forward to the combat phase of Battle Round 4. Can I choose the same unit of Bloodletters to attack a second time because they haven't fought yet in this Battle Round 4's combat phase or are they no longer an eligible unit because they already fought way back in Battle Round 1? Thanks.
  5. LOL 2 replies from my question one says its per combat phase the other says gonna have to keep track of what already fought for the entire battle. Glad the FAQ was so helpful hahaha.
  6. I'm a little bit confused forgive me... But does a model always fight for the "first time" in each new combat phase or am I expected to keep track of models that have fought at least once during the entire battle?
  7. Hello fellow madmen I've come up with a list that I hope can hold its own and C&C is most welcome! I am looking for a strong and dirty list, as quite a few folks at my shop have been revving the cheese engine, so I hope this goes toe to toe with them lol Reapers of Vengeance Herald of Khorne on Blood Throne (General) Mage Eater Skullshard Mantle Slaugherpriest Bronzed Flesh Bloodsecrator Skulltaker Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster Battleline: Bloodletters x30 Flesh Hounds x5 Flesh Hounds x5 Other: Skull Cannon Skullcannon x3 Wrathmongers x5 It began as a Gorthunder Cohort but decided the points for the battalion may not be worth it but wanted to keep the Blood Throne because A) The model if f-ing METAL and b) I think it might make a great platform for the Reaper's CA and Mage Eater on him keeps all my dispells out of just a single basket. Plus with the Mantle he's virtually never be spell-sniped. The only thing is I wish I could squeeze in another Slaugherpriest and perhaps Wrath Axe or Hexgorger Skulls in there but unsure what to remove.
  8. Wow that's awesome how many chariots do you recommend? I've been experimenting with a Skyshoal Coven for the last couple of weeks to moderate success but got roflestomped last night by a pretty nasty Seraphon list. If I drop the battalion and 2 of the 3 man unit of Skyfires that will give me 3 burning chariots with about 100 points leftover. Is that workable or...?
  9. I'm curious what is this "Skyfire orgy" list you are seeing? I wasn't playing AoS when Skyfires were the hotness and I only just recently began looking into them as an alternative to the mass Horror summoning lists that have been popular for at least the last year or so.
  10. Ok how about this? Kairic Acolytes have their spies everywhere in the cities of Order. Many have used their magical disguises to hide themselves amongst the common soldiers to gleam knowledge of the enemy's battleplan in order to gain a strategic advantage. After both sides have finished deploying, roll a die for each friendly Kairic Acolytes unit in the army. On a 6, choose a friendly unit and redeploy it. This effect may succeed on a 5 or 6 if the Acolytes unit contains 20 or more models.
  11. Its funny I thought I specified that the targeted battleline units had to be Order since in the lore the cults are infiltrating the cities of Order all across the Realms. But I must have spaced out on that detail. That would eliminate the worry of Stormfiends and Beastclaw battleline being affected. I'd also be fine with a further restriction that the batteline unit in question can only have a Wound characteristic of 2 or less, since the idea in my mind was that the Acolytes have infiltrated the enemy's lowest ranking soldiers among the army. I did, however, specifically say that the same battleline unit cannot be targeted more than once, so that would eliminate the possibility of multiple Acolyte units focusing down a single battleline unit until it was completely gone.
  12. Spell lores definitely need some updating. I love how all of the Skaven's war engines can be overpowered for a risk. I think it would be cool if each of our spells had a normal and a risky version when casting. I would also like to see more Artifacts of Power that play to our strengths. There are so many in our current book that trigger when you kill a hero or monster in combat and that's not really our thing. More Artifacts or General Traits that make casting more interesting would be nice. Regular Tzaangors need to be streamlined. Currently a unit with all the upgrades is a pain to resolve in combat. As far as capturing the feeling for the lore fact that Acolytes are hiding among the cities and armies how about something like this? Acolyte Cults have spies everywhere. They use deceitful magic to disguise themselves as fellow soldiers but on the eve of battle they will abandon their posts to join their comrades. At the start of the battle, choose one friendly Kairic Acolyte unit and 1 enemy Battleline unit. Remove D3 models from that Battleline unit and add that many Kairic Acolyte models to the chosen Kairic Acolyte unit. Do this for each Kairic Acolyte unit in your army. The same enemy batteline unit cannot be chosen more than once. Change the die roll from d3 to d6 if the Kairic Acolyte unit contains 20 or more models at the start of the battle.
  13. I can't drop both the Acolytes and the Warriors for Marauders because then I'll be short 1 Battleline unit. I do agree with you about the Warriors though. I'd rather have 3rd unit of Acolytes but I do not want to spend another 50 bucks for a box of 20 and only use 10 lol. Then instead of Soulsnare Shackles I can use a Prismaic Pallisade, which is a pretty sweet spell for preventing a key charge into one of my casters.
  14. Hey thanks for the input In the list I currently run, I have the the LoC, Summoner, and Shaman in the army. The Shaman buff is ok, but if I had to choose only 1, I prefer the firepower of the Gaunt over the Shaman buff. HOWEVER, rather than running mass Tzaangors I'm now looking at making the best out of both flavor of disc riders I'm pretty happy with how it looks on paper. Battalion: Skyshoal Coven Lord of Change (General) Incorporeal Form Gryph-Feather Charm Bolt of Tzeench Gaunt Summoner w/Familiars Souldraught Tzeench's Firestorm Tzaangor Shaman Fold Reality Battleline: Kairic Acolytes x10 Kairic Acolytes x10 Chaos Warriors x5 Great Weapons Other: Tzaangor Enlightened on Discs x9 Skyfires x3 Skyfires x3 Endless Spells: Balewind Vortex Soulsnare Shackles
  15. What are everybody's thoughts on a list that doesn't rely on heavily summoning Blue Horrors? I'm thinking of running the following to see how it goes: Battalion: Tzaangor Coven Lord of Change (General) Incorporeal Form Gryph-feather Charm Gaunt Summoner with Familiars Battleline: Tzaangors x30 All the upgrades Kairic Acolytes x10 Kairic Acolytes x10 Other: Tzaangor Enlightened x6 Tzaangor Skyfires x6 The battalion will make the Tzaangors the combat monsters they used to be many years ago. You can play aggressive with the LoC thanks to his -2 to hit, and he can keep up and support the disc riders. You can probably drop Incorporeal Form for Arch-Sorcerer so LoC can have access to Fold Reality without losing one of his nuke spells from the Lore section. For Tzeench, it seems like a simple and straightforward list to run. I haven't quite decided what Artifact to give the Summoner any ideas?
  16. Hey quick question... does Skulltaker's command ability only affect Bloodletters or can it affect any unit with the Bloodletter keyword?
  17. Just got the book. Army listing has never been so much fun! I can't believe that a unit of 10 Wrathmongers in a Bloodforged battalion can potentialy dish out 100 attacks! Throw in Scarr Bloodwrath and each individual Wrathmonger model will pile in and attack before naturally exploding, causing even more wounds. This seems like pure insanity. So my list that is inspired by this is as follows: Goretide Battalion: Bloodforged Skullgrinder (General) Hew the Foe Mark of the Destroyer Bloodsecrator Thronbreaker's Torc Skar Bloodwrath Slaughterpriest Slaughterpriest Battleline: Flesh Hounds x5 Blood Warriors x5 Gorefists BloodWarriors x5 Gorefists Other: Wrathmongers x10 Wrathmongers x10 Mighty Skullcrushers x6 Judgements of Khorne: Wrath Axe Hexgorger Skulls I've also heard in a podcast that the since the Wrathmonger's +1 attack bonus does not specify melee attacks only, that this bonus will also apply to Skull Cannons's shooting as well. Well, in the previous book I wished to put together a Gorethunder Cohort but was just not happy with it. Not anymore! Reapers of Vengeance Battalion: Gorethunder Cohort Herald of Khorne on Blood Throne (General) Mage Eater Skullshard Mantle Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster (bonus artifact undecided) Battleline: Flesh Hounds x5 Bloodletters x10 Bloodletters x10 Artillery: Skull Cannons x3 Skull Cannon x1 Skull Cannon x1 Other: Wrathmongers x5 Bloodcrushers x6 Who says Khorne can't shoot? 5 Cannons bunched up together with the Mongers cheerleading close to them so that they each get to shoot twice. Thats 10 30 inch shots hitting on 3s (rerolling missing thanks to battalion), wounding on 3s, rend -2, D6 damage. And now they get a free round of shooting if they kill a model in combat? YES PLEASE!
  18. I gotta say I'm really excited for the new Khorne book not only did a buddy of mine "sucker" me into jumping into this game by giving me all the Khorne models from the starter set (too bad I wound up dedicating myself to Tzeench lol) but I have been recently collecting Beasts of Chaos now that my Tzeench army is done but now I'm really digging the idea of using the Brass Despoilers batallion (which gives all BoC in the battalion the KHORNE keyword, a global reroll 1s to hit, and a once per battle ability to reroll all failed wound rolls. So here's what I'm looking forward to trying out but I'd like to hear your thoughts! Battalion: Brass Despoilers 190 Heroes: Bloodsecrator (General) 140 Slaughtepriest 100 Doombull 120 Battleline: Gors x10 80 Gors x10 80 Bloodreavers x10 70 Other: Gorgon 200 Bestigors x30 300 Bullgors x3 160 Bullgors x3 160 Wrathmongers x5 180 Wrathmongers x5 180 40 points leftover for one of the new 40 point Judgements. At any given moment, the Doombull, Bestogors, Ghorgon, or Bullgors can have easy access to +2 attacks and rerolling 1s to hit while also getting to benefit from the Blood Tithe table. I'm not familiar with the new Khorne warlord traits or artifacts, but I assume there may be one that makes the general more survivable or move faster. The Bloodsecrator will get that, and I'm sure there will be an artifact that makes prayers/judgments easier to cast/more effective which I'll give to the Slaughterpriest. Since I'll have access to a 2nd Artifact of Power for bringing a Battalion I'll be looking for something that makes Blood Tithe points generate faster which the Bloodsecrator will get. I think what I want to try to do is generate as many Blood Tithe points as possible so that I can get Slaughter Triumphant ASAP. Also, I have a rules question: if I wanted to have my two units of Wrathmongers on either side of the 30 Bestigors, can the Bestigors get the +1 attack bonus as long as half of the unit is with range of one of the Wrathmongers and the other half is in range of the other Wrathmonger unit? If the answer is no, I may consider dropping one of the Wrathmongers in favor of a second Ghorgon or a group of 5 Skullreapers. Thanks!
  19. Hi all so I finally have collected the models I want to use in a list and I have a game tonight. I can run my list in two ways and I'm on the fence. Which list do you think will perform better, generally speaking? LIST 1 Gaunt Summoner (General) Arcane Sacrifice Lord of Change Gryphfeather Charm Tzaangor Shaman BATTLELINE Kairic Acolytes x10 Pink Horrors x10 Tzaangors x20 Chaos Warriors x10 OTHER Tzaangor Enlightened on Disc x9 ENDLESS SPELLS Quicksilver Swords LIST 2 Gaunt Summoner (General) Arcane Sacrifice Lord of Change Gryphfeather Charm Tzaangor Shaman BATTLELINE Kairic Acolytes x10 Kairic Acolytes x10 Pink Horrors x10 OTHER: Tzaangor Enlightenedx9 Tzaangor Skyfires x6 ENDLESS SPELLS QuickSilver Swords Umbral Spellportal Thank you!
  20. Hey guys so the recent discussion about fielding both LoC and Kairos in the same list got me thinking... what do you all think of something like this? Lord of Change (General) Arch-Sorcerer Gryphfeather Charm Kairos Fateweaver Chaos Sorcerer Lord on Manticore BATTLELINE Kairic Acolytes x10 Kairic Acolytes x10 Pink Horrors x10 OTHER: Tzaangor Enlightened on Disc x9 Chaos Knights x5 Cockatrice
  21. Hello crazed madmen and bloody daemons! I started AoS with the Khorne models from the original starter set but I put them on the backburner because I wound up collecting Deepkin, then Tzeench, then Beasts of Chaos instead lol. But now I kind of feel like returning to Khorne and slapped the following list together. How you think it may perform? Counsil of Blood Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster (General) Immense Power Deathdealer Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury Karanak Bloodsecrator BATTLELINE Flesh Hounds x5 Flesh Hounds x10 Bloodletters x10 OTHER Bloodcrushers x3 Bloodcrushers x3 Even a couple of years ago when I allowed myself to get back into WFB in the form of AOS I always thought the coolest battalion was Counsil of Blood. Now that its been updated to allow all the bloodthirsters their printed command ability without having to spend a command point is pretty amazing IMO. Also the changes to Karanak and Flesh Hounds from the December update seem really good! I hope this list takes advantage of these buffs. My only concern is if the Bloodsecrator is really all that necessary for this list? +1 attacks to everybody within 18" is as always super tasty but do you think I may struggle keeping him in range? Also, I feel like Skarbrand needs to be here. Would dropping Bloodsecrator and the Bloodcrusher units be worth Skarbrand?
  22. While we're on the subject of Fold Reality, is it possible to use a destiny die to avoid rolling a 1 after its cast? I am 99.999% sure the answer is no, based on what I can gather from the battletome and FAQ, but I've also heard it said that the only rolls destiny die cannot substitute is the initiative roll, and the role to see how many mortal wounds a spell deals.
  23. What would Kairos do for this list? My understanding is that Kairos is okay at best.
  24. Hey fellow mad wizard/mutants! Question! What are some of Tzeench's dirtiest tricks/combos? We're planning a game soon where everybody is bringing their dirtiest, cheesiest, beardiest armies to see who gets to be the king of cheese and I want to bring my A-Game! I'll be making a fancy meat and cheese platter for the winner on new years
