  1. they changes the wording of the call-men-at-Arms to „return slain models...“ only the patrol really increases the unit size and even there I would guess only if the unit reaches the limit befor it adds the models, not having something like 15 models, but 23 as unit size
  2. I think the real problem with royal family spam are the command points. And a king with 10 ghouls doesn’t really packs a punch and without a ghast they’ll be toast in no time and punched off an objective. I thought about a triple monster list with 20/20/10 ghoulpatrol. GKoZD with majestic summoning two varghulfs and the GKoTG summoning complementary horrors or flayers...
  3. Ghoul Patrol has a hefty price tag, but especially with your set up flexibility you’ll have them right „on target“ turn 1. i don‘t really like them in group of 10, because without backup they just evaporate. But a unit of 20 ghouls, regaining through a courtier and getting upped d6 each round... pretty solid. The rest is just distraction carnifex and easy targets for your opponent to mess up his victory point game... careful with ironjawz though befor presenting speedbumps ?
  4. He did consistent 5 dmg per melee... so kinda underwhelming. but the fireworks really brought the pain. Especially when the dice are hot and you double vile transferance and big arcane bolt... for soul stealer I messed up the bravery roll and I really felt stupid casting mystic shield on Nagash, after proudly declaring mastery over the undead reroll hit&save of 1... but he endured, wiped 3scythe kurnoth with the bravery help of the morghast, he eyeballed durthu to death and b-slapped a branchwraith taking 7 dmg in total, dominating the mid-field.
  5. Big Daddy N had a nice clash against durthu playing falling stars. Glad my opponent never got the double turn, and after a round of slapping and namecalling Nagash vile transfered himself back to reasonable health and gave him the final deadly eyebrow... Nagash, a Vamp Lord, 2x2 harbringers and 10 puppies resulting in 1,5k points. The doggies really performed, the list was kinda fast, everybody flying with 9“ but he also brought a pretty elite list (durthu, 2 branchwitches, 2x3 now-hunter, 3 scythe-hunter, 20 dryads and 10 revenants) and he rolled **** ?
  6. 10 ghouls without support... gone in a blink of an eye, but 20-30, maybe placed into terrain, with a ghast or varghulf as backup they have endurance and suddenly things start rolling especially if your ghoulking suddenly starts being a douchebag and calling in the reserves
  7. Like you just wrote... it seems to hinder YOUR style of play, which then is true for YOUR lists... the price increase was a „big“ hit (was too cheap before), so I personally would say in a defender list, where huddling around the centerpiece is not too limiting and playing with endless spells and realm spells, so you‘re able to cast 6-7 spells per phase it might be fun... for it to work they have to be positioned relativly aggressive to have targets and your opponent should have no direct means to demolish your engine first shooting phase (kurnoth, skyfire, raptors...) and 130 points are 10 puppies for objective holding
  8. Next rule question ? : Do we have a ruling for „Mark of the Favored“ yet? I know the FAQ states, that the wound is suffered after the attack is finished, but how many dice do you roll? Is it once per unit? Is it for each model choosing to attack? Is it for each melee attack profile choosing to target the general? Is it per to hit dice thrown at him? I mean for a unit of 5 black knights charging, that is either 1/5/10/20 dice you get to roll... my (German) book says: ...whenever the general is chosen as a target for an attack during the melee phase... the horse on the far left side could choose to attack something else with its second hoof attack...but that seems stupidly strong, while only one die per unit seems just stupid any good answers, which will not have to be decided by a shouting contest?
  9. You could make this happen, against an unsuspecting opponent once... after that he’ll just remove models from within 6“ first. Within 6“ is just kinda stupid and afterwards you’ll have to be able to set it up too, fully within 9“... but if it happens, you can use that evil grin, you got prepared
  10. will going crazy with Nagash in a 1500 list, either I crush him or I´ll hit a brickwall Nagash Necromancer - Ossidified Diadem Vampirelord on Horse 30 Skellis 10 Wolves 5 Wolves or I throw out all strategic approaches and go for Necromancer, 2x2 Harbringers and 10 wolves...
  11. Well all of the new nighthaunt baselines are forced to serve in agony the wishes of our great master... and there were factions and cities who allied and served Nagash (Lhamia comes to mind) although not really enthusiastic (what’d you say Mannfred?!)... and the model line is fantastic. But I guess we had our share now, time for all the other chaps to get some love.
  12. Tomb Kings!!! We have the ghosts, we have the vampyres... now we need the mummies back!!!
  13. And here is mine... 1000 points horror courtier with dark magic, varghulf, ghoul king, ghast, 6 horrors and 3 horrors progging my flayers as horrors...(my skillz with magnets are lacking) against a bunch of Khorne fanatics. And the cards decided deloyment on the sides vs the middle and playing for killpoints ? so in your face and kill them all, good idea. I took the initiative rushed in and hoped, that he never gets a double turn...big risk high reward! luckily he never recovered from the first impact of 6 horrors into his lines. Black Hunger and the presence of the mighty king lead to some serious gravestone into head and boneclub to the groin. still khorne was happy, he got a bunch of heads and without double turn, varghulf in total beast mode and my horrors coming back... there was only one outcome Still kinda tricky situation, but I got prio for turn three... Before getting all three horrors back, which led my opponent into a fit... Kinda bad matchup for him, too
  14. I never cry... and I loved my K‘Daii punching stupid Tzangors As a death player I can confirm maximum grief when seeing my heros die, and my heart rejoiced as my mortar bombed a gaunt summoner. and always whip that ogor
  15. I think differently... New edition changed to free summoning and dropped fixed unit sizes (fe pink horrors). Every warscroll and rules got updated (summon units once per game, regenerating only slain models) so adding models is wanted in my little world. But hoping a faq will end the interpretation raw/rai hussel
  16. Yep ? models lost due to battleshock count as slain... last sentence in the battleshock rule
  17. Standart bearer: death banner, reduce enemy bravery by 1 if within 6“ of ANY death banner Musician (hornblower): can count a charge roll as a 6
  18. Well, that’s of course a big problem... re-start smoking?! After rereading the rules for grave guard and skellis you can build the flag marching band of doom. As many musicians and as many flags as you want, with no restrictions on your weapon choice . ONE Champ to lead them all. good for us, and I do admit running mixed weapons in my skelli blocks. I transport them in one big box and sometimes there are open spaces for internships. I do get kinda annoyed if brutes or tzangors are not WYSIWYG. When my opponents start to ramble I just tell them to say how many saves are required. Don’t want to accuse them of cheating, in a big pile of melee The Who fights where with what tends to confuse me...
  19. Don’t know about the high end tournaments, a 20 strong unit of gg with 4 champions, 4 banners and 4 musicians might be a little bit too much. Best is to ask beforehand or to up your glue-game and magnetize your junk. and one TO might say WYSIWYG4life and a week later rule of cool and please nominate and mark your real command unit.
  20. I really liked the ironsworn unit, their spite shields are really not nice at all. For shooting I‘d rather field another big gun. as to the K‘Daii discussion, when they hit, they really dish out the pain... I definitely like their glass cannon style. Sadly never played the stampede, so can’t say anything about them. Kinda sad we don’t have the dragon-ogres anymore, but the executioner looks like serious business
  21. Jep, got your 2k monster mash right there... the madness will find you building a courtier an realizing that you now have 9 ghouls and a hero. when your finished building your infernal, welcome to the courts of delusion (with two flayers)
  22. IIRC: Rules in the LoN book under all the different Legions. In short: In your herophase a Death unit from the Legions of Nagash (not sure about nighthaunt, no to FEC) within 9“ of a gravesite can be chosen (only one unit per gs) to heal d3 wounds. If the unit only has 1hp models regain that many models... and you get to set up 4 gravesites (2 in your territory, 2 wherever) after choosing sides before setting up units, they are just markers, points on the board. no other interaction with any models. Nicely sculpted and beautifully painted is nice, but better not get in the way...
  23. Same with the gravesites...just too funny double 40skelli slap-match with 8d3 regen each turn well kinda funny at first, then it gets kinda stupid instead
  24. Well, it is a kind of tax. But on the other hand, the engine is not total junk. It adds to your casting another +1 it has a large footprint to block off your casters and once per game it heals your Charakters while damaging all enemies around. Melee is pitiful and the banshee scream is a scream. Useless against undead and demons, but with a standart and overwhelming dread suddenly pretty good
