    Anyone else notice that all these chaos factions are shoeless? I can make the exception for some of the more primal looking guys.. but for the ones well equipped with well crafted armor.. they skipped boots or sandals

    Looking forward to seeing what units are mercenaries. I imagine they all have to be fairly bland for balancing sake. still a great opportunity for more themed lists and conversions. Rule of cool win

    Probably Krell, which would be a deathrattle morty. Could even give him that special barrow king flying chariot as his mount lol

    I believe Nagash’s old pal he is trying to get back is Krell. He remained loyal, where Kemmler switched to chaos in the end times. either way, the return of either (more so for Krell) would herald the return of the Barrow Kings to some extent. At the very least bolstering deathrattle/ taking it from just dust old bones to something more. Zing my fingers for that flying chariot, animated statues and dark Druid Magic’s

    Agreed. I would hope for a true generic list of units across the board that could be used for any faction. though the example given were about fireslayers, which is in their fluff. So I would expect a lot more humans or those inside factions that seek some sort of ‘monetary’ gain. id love for some sort of official DoW type cluster faction with pay master. But I’m sure that’s not going to happen here

    Not much to talk about yet, but I’m pretty excited about the “return” of “DoW”. should be cool to see what sell swords are available

    Yeah.. this WD article was beyond this codex. Which brought a lot of the cool stuff back. I’d be shocked if it happens. However if you red string all the coincidences together you might have something haha. I’d settle for some new unique army combos which would require no new models or some bonkers wargear for everyone.

    I’d like the face skin to be for Kemmler. Who back in old WD had made a return with BARROW KINGS. Which lines up with the idea of forbidden power, him being a trapped powerful soul.. also that WD seems to be doing more “army rules”.. would be a great way to do a soup army that includes constructs n such. wont happen but I can dream of generic mummy units if I want 😛

    If it is a return of the Lich Master, it’s plausible it’s a play in the old WD article where kemmler returns, bringing krill back and awakening the Barrow Kings. Won’t happen, but I’m all for flying chariot “death rattle” king units of animated statues, mummies, ghosts and of course skeletons. essentially it was a unique mix of old VC & TK units, a soup really sign me up

    Certainly looks like it. So it’s possible that it’s actually the insect clinging on its back and providing flight for him. pretty cool nature symbiotic relationship if that’s true.

    Weird because I dislike narrative and open play. Rule if cool and having fun is where I sit. you can still have a theme without narrative and open play OR abusing rules. The premise of the topic is based on providing new strategy and narrowing gaps in armies that need a boost due to lack of battle tome etc. however this idea includes the concept of “battle brother”. An concept of which armies would most likely team up more so than normal, which is THEMATIC.

    I’m all for making things more creative and fun. I don’t see the harm in bumping the points up a little bit. But if there would be a battle brother type thing, just have it where only if you take the BB you get an increase points for them. id much rather look at and play against someone’s awesome themed army than vanilla one

    Well I hope they feel bad they didn’t make any new mortals. But I suspect they don’t care and will just use it as a future release lol odd though considering in the fluff it was the mortals questing to find where their beloved god/dess was being held
