  1. Nothing weird. I'm trying to build two armies with GW sculpts that I like: An old school-looking dwarf throng, as big as I can. Waiting for Arcane Journal. Still missing: Between 40 and 60 Dwarf Warriors Bunch of Heroes (I only have 1 runelord and Thorgrim so...). General must be Helga on 3 shieldbearers (only need the shieldbearers). 12 Miners 18 Rangers 16+ 6e editions longbeards. 2 cannons. Engineers and stuff like that (at least 2 more gryos for a nice Barak-Nar like fleet). An small army of Slayers: Youngrim (and Arcane Journal) A few Doomseekers Garagrim A bunch of Heroes (I only have 1 Ungrim). I'm working on quarrellers and designs for transfer sheets (still learning how this work) and looking for schemes. I'm going for an unified looking crest and emblems.
  2. My TOW army is a personal project. I don't want to rush it and I perfectly know what miniatures I need, and believe me that what you said is not an option for me. But hey, it seems that my problem is the "lack of imagination".
  3. Fixe'd. I can't even legally play without the Dwarf big box... (not enough core units).
  4. I love Malakai. I can't wait to play with the thunderbarge, doomseekers, garagrim, the goblin hewer... even Long Drong's pirates!! Commom GW, release my dwarf miniatures.
  5. That was my main issue with Warcry. I didn't have any interest in Chaos, and all warbands were just a "miss" for me. Underworlds and Killteam was/is a better deal for me.
  6. To be honest, old skavens had everything that an AoS factions needs. I mean, frankenstein rats, rat-abominations, grenadiers with venomous gas... another Tuesday in the Mortal Realms.
  7. Even that, I don't think that the Legacy Factions are going to have any release in the next two years. To be honest, I expect a lot of Campaign Supplements (aka, Horus Heresy newBlack Books) for the existing Core Factions, maybe with a special guests (Kislev/Cathay maybe?). Whatever was "the scope of the project has changed" will start kicking hard in maybe 2 to 3 years. I hope I'm wrong because all Vampire Coast posts from @Sception are a joy to read, and an Arcane Journal will be enough to start a new project.
  8. I have the opposite feeling: they have enough armour and weapons that they look more "civilized" than other warbands. Horns are just decorations, and that bestigor feels a lot more civilized than any other beastmen model. And remember that most warbands already had elves and dwarfs as part of their rooster, so, it's nothing new.
  9. I partly agree with that. WFB only has WS and the allowed equipment for each unit. Everything else, Save, Wound, AP and Damage (multiple wounds) comes from equipment. AoS has a diferent design, all stats are linkes to each unit and weapons are "free". So, Health, Save, To Hit/Wound, Rend, Damage and a bunch of USR should be enough to have as many diferent units as you want.
  10. I will be reallly annoyed if I can't buy some dwarfs...
  11. That's exactly what I think. 40k is a monster that will destroy any economic score, eveything else can only dream about being on the top for a few weeks, maybe even months if they work for it (hype, new edition, nostalgia,...). But doesn't matter how hard you try, the goose with the golden eggs will be right behind.
  12. I don't think that "overlapping" is a problem for GW (or any other company). Just focus on the things that makes the faction unique and move on.
  13. I agree with that. It becomes better for armies like Fyreslayers: 4 Troops. If we take Vulkites as an example, we could have: Vulkites with Double "Fireforged Weapon" (I don't care if they are build with the picks, axes, swords or whips) and have an offensive basic unit. Vulkites With "Fireforged Weapons" and Bladed Slinghields and have a defensive basic unit that can throw their shields to reduce any charge bonus from the enemis. That would add some playstyle variation and it's easier to see than a Grandhammer (1/5 for nuLiberators) and play too (all the unit has the same loadout). That's all about GW, they can give enough tools (in the rules) to make diferent gameplay styles. But the point is, let the player choose.
  14. I hope so. Even if there are some things that I find a bit weird (the shield thing with the profiles and characteristics), I think that the game is starting to have a really strong and structured core. There is a lot that we need to know, but just hope for the best!
  15. I don't know, but all armies should have their own diferent gameplays without using any "outside" models. Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly fine with Campaign books with unique armies, and a Big Waaagh is perfectly fine in that perspective. But I prefer when they are personal projects instead of an excuse to unlock a basic gameplay style.
  16. That will be a problem for some factions that only have 1 or 2 troops that can be equiped with diferent loadouts. Guttrippaz, Vulkites, Ogres, Arsboyz, etc, are going to lose some gameplay.
  17. They tried, but our Monsters are clearly not MONSTER, so we had to spend a Command Point:
  18. Imagine playing a game with Dawnbringers V siege rules (matched play) and find out that your cannons are not artillery pieces (artillery has special bonus for siege). Doesn't matter how many times you point out that they have the WAR MACHINE keywor or show the model with a Great Sky Cannon (btw, since 2017). They are clearly handgund with a weird profile. Meanwhile, we use our ships as Monsters for battalions purpose LOL
  19. I'm not a big fan of that. I had a bit of hope that rules would be closer to the models they represent (and I'm not talking about lore, more about the physical models).
  20. This alone will be enough for me to start a Vampire Count army.
  21. 100% this I'm a bit biased, but they feel so "grounded" that you can understand all the kharadron's life (and I'm saying this with a book that has a flying ship following a dragon between levitating mountains made of ice).
  22. It would be fun to see Gundstock Thunderers.... So, some random thoughts: If everything is an ability (passive and active), it feels like we are going to see some some "activation wars" in more than just the Fighting Phase. That diminishes the impact of a double-turn (good). Nagash only having a bonus to cast in the Hero Phase. Does this means that spells are going to be tied in to the Hero Phase? The skull ability (passive) from Nagash makes me think that it triggers in the Start of the Turn. If that's the case for all other monsters with the same degrading ability, they are not going to take the effect until the start of the next turn. That's funy: "while Ossiarch Bonereapers is a keyword here, Nagash has a separate Warscroll in each of the Faction Packs from Grand Alliance: Death". Btw, I'm completely fine with that, some units having a diferent warscroll depending on the army they join opens a lot of possibilities. 6 special USR for weapons? Seems an small number, but I'm ok with that. The main problem with AoS weapon profiles is that you always look at the Damage Output and the save of the enemy. If the Edition has buffs or whatever that allows most of the models to have a save between 2+ and +3, it's as simple as focus on the damage row with that save. Not a fan of this, but it is what it is. Keywords for Abilities seems good. It's easy to target or understand what's happening just by looking at the warscroll. Not sure about the little simbols for each ability... I just hope that most keywrods use the same timing (all rampage triggers at the End of Any Turn, etc...), it will be easier to understand that way. Not sure about the keywords that are linked to a stat being in the other side of the warscroll. Fly and Ward feels alot better if they are near the Move and Save characteristic. I will wait because I think that there are going to be a lot of interactions with this keywords and maybe that's why they are in a diferent place. So, Control Score and Control is diferent. Liberators are going to have a Control of 1, and a unit of 10 are going to have a Control Score of 10. if they are on an objective in their territory, they are going to have 13 Control Score in total. Am I right? I'm really curious about the Shooting Phase. Range going down seems awesome, but I still want to know the basic system (LOS, who can shoot, terrain abilities...). What about the Charge Phase? Imho, a generic bonus is needed because if you already had one unit in a combat, it feel weird to throw another one in to the fray that would not have any bonus and probably will be hit before they attack. Let's wait and see. It looks interesting and refreshing at least.
