  1. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that Nagash and even Gorkamorka were part of the Pantheon at some point in the Age of Myth. If, for whatever reason, Morathy just backstabs (again) Sigmar, it would be not diferent from other Gods that just walked away from him to start their own business in another Grand Alliance. But GW can't do that, it will have a direct impact on the tabletop (losing Mercenaries, Allies and Regiments of Renown). That's why I think this kind of Grand Alliance stuff are just shackles for writters and designers. It doesn't serve as something that players will enjoy appart from being a very artificial way to divide armies in GW e-shop. Btw, reading Ghost of Barak-Mhinoz: Shadow-Aelves, Ogros, Orruks and "weird stuff" walking around the City of Barak-Mhornar, even a Mistweaver showed up.
  2. Remove the entire Grand Alliance. It doesn't have any meaning appart from an arbitrary "they can only ally with...", but that can be done with other mechanics.
  3. Agree. The weird thing is that, for whatever reason, I can accept (even if I don't like it) a one-page-warscroll for high-level named characters (katakross being a uber-boss for OBR). But a unit of more than one model, with 6 profiles, one for each model, and some synergies between them feels like a skirmish game (aka, games that play with 5-15 models with a bunch of rules and interactions between them). And it becomes a bit worse when they are not named characters. Grundstock Thunderers with Special Weapons have the same issue since 2017. Of course players can group some special weapon profiles (decksweeper+aerhershot rifles) in the same roll, or use diferent dice, but the problem is still there.
  4. Curious that Sentenced to Death and Duty Bound are not part of theiw Warscrolls Abilities. Probably for their Regiment of Renown. So, players trade 4 Orders for an Anvil unit (4+ward Callys&Toll and 3+unrendable save for Saviour of Cinderhall). Btw, I hate to see 6 diferent profiles for 6 models...
  5. Croneseer Pariahs seems to be a better an army of renown than the other ones because it seems that the army buffs warlocks and witches, but you can still use scathborne too. Btw, I'm not a fan of buffing units, I prefer some more subtle buffs or utility for the whole army, but that's another thing. Doomfire warlocks can move 12" in the Hero Phase (try to cast spells 12" away), another 12" in the Move Phase, shoot 12" away, and if they are charged, they can retreat 2D6". Krethusa has a situational option for a triple move, and her prayer is a coin-flip that can be really powerful with 18" range. But to be honest, this new type of Heroes are a bit meh, they have fancy names and an awesome story, but they are just "1-ability" models. Not sure if I like that...
  6. Disagree: Subfactions are a basic term in AoS. Stormhosts, Skyports, Lodges, Cities, etc... are Subfactions. Kruleboyz are an army, they share a book with other factions and have a weird 3-in-1-army. They have subfactions (Grinnin' Blades, Big Yellers and SKullbugz). Darkoath and Dispossessed are themes of their own armies (Slaves to Darkness and Cities of Sigmar). Dispossessed have their own flavour rules (Orders, Artifacts, etc..) but they can still be used in any of their subfactions.
  7. So, Dawnbringers V have Siege rules. Nothing big, but there is something interesting: Powerful siege engines redirects to the Cities of Sigmar cannon. Maybe, siege engines, artillery and/or war machines are going to have a bonus or the ability to destory fortifications. Let's see if something like that will be ported to 4.0...
  8. Is there any explanation about nobody knows about Zagnog? He wasn't even announced in WarCom and we only know about him because someone made a photo...
  9. This rules look good, but they are so specific for Cities of Sigmar that it's hard to believe that other armies are going to use them (unless a conversion is done, like a blood fountaint for DoK or Korne). But reading about "siege war machines" put a smile on my face, I woudn't mind to see a continuation of this in 4.0.
  10. Not sure. I can see a plastic kit like the Pegasus Hero from Bretonia: 1) A king with 3 bearers 2) A thane with 3 bearers 3) 1 and 2 with a banner. - Scenario 4: 8th edition models stay with AoS, GW releases old sculpts for longbearers, hammerers and ironbreakers (ignore irondrakes), and this new rumour engine is a new Barak-Thryng hero. Win/win (/s)
  11. Play Duardins. Expect a hero every 8 or 11 months and maybe a warcry band after 7 or 8 years.
  12. Everything seems to point out in the other direction and I'm pretty sure that GW is working on a long term plan for TOW.
  13. Not sure if it should be called "problem", but our BT and GS are easy enough that they carry most of our games. Btw, our shooting is not that great (points for output), appart from that one time when we use an artifact, footnote, CP, ammunition and khemist (most of them are once-per-game buff).
  14. Darkoath looks amazing. This edition ends with a blast. The gnomes are adorable too.
  15. "Decent range" is so subjective that we can't use it as an argument
  16. Welcome to the club. KOs, Fyreslayers and a bunch of other armies are in the same spot, some of them even since 2016! My only advise, don't expect anything and you will not be disappointed
  17. I'm glad that Skavens have the same design style as WFB 8a ed. and AoS.
  18. It seems that GW devs just try to push as many rules as possible at the end of edition. Auto-wound, 2+hit always success, unrendable save, double damage,... all this abilities could be part of the game, but for whatever reason, they are just rules for a few warscrolls... 4.0 can't come soon enough...
  19. Another vote for Season of War. Best battlereport channel online.
  20. Yep, I just hope that the 40k designs are over the top, they are the perfect army for weird and crazy stuff, but I'm not sure about the rules. I've played them in Age of Darkness (tabletop simulator), and I really loved their really cool gameplay (your badass god of war can only hit me on 6s, and I don't even need to hit you back to win the fight LOL).
  21. Anyone played a multiplayer game with DB IV rules? They look good but really wacky unless all players decide to play with lists dedicated to this mode (so, you bring that 600+ points wizard? too bad that he "can't cast spells" during the entire game). The plots are so strong that all lists should be tunned in the sense that a "gotcha" moment can happen anytime.
