Mengel Miniatures
Hi, I painted up this Ironjawz test model last night. I would say it took me about an hour and a half once you discount drying time and the time I spent fixing mistakes because I didn't wait long enough for everything to dry between a few steps. Believe it or not, about half of this model or more was painted almost exclusively with just glazes and shades. I'll have a step by step tutorial for him next week. Thanks! Changer
That's a really nice yellow. It wouldn't be Casandora Yellow over a light base would it? Either way it looks great. Can't wait to see the tutorial.
Mengel Miniatures
@Changer Casandora Yellow and a light base may or may not be involved in this process
Rogue Explorator
Looking mighty fine. My only criticism would be, that he looks way clean and unbattered for a properly mean Orruk.
Routasydän
Same thoughts as Rogue before me, looks brilliant but the yellow could use a little bit of damage.
Mengel Miniatures
@Routasydän @Rogue Explorator I considered it. I may still add some chipping to the armor.
Tommy_T
Looking good! May I ask how you painted the horns?
Double Misfire
Really nice. A much subtler, richer yellow than the two effin' 'orrible yellow layer paints GW sells. Hats off!
Mengel Miniatures
I'll have the painting tutorial up on Monday that will go over everything. I can say that the horns were mostly painted with shades though.
