Guardian of Souls in LoN

Hey guys,

since the FAQ to the Legion of Nagash Battletome all Nighthaunt models from the Soul Wars Box are legit.

My question is if i am allowed to choose a spell (from which lore?) when picking a Guardian of Souls in a Legion of Nagash list?

The Guardian of Souls can't take any spells from the lores since it isn't a Deathmage or Vampire wizard.

Arkhan is a Deathmage neither, but he can chose form the lore. The Keyword is Wizard. Deathmage is a Faction, consisting Necromancer and Mortis Engine. 

Thus the Guardian of Souls is a wizard it should chose a Spell from the lore to.

The Lores of the Dead specify Deathlords wizards, which Arkhan is, can take spells from either Deathmages or Vampires, that’s why he can choose from them without having the Deathmage or Vampire keyword.

Arkhan is a deathlord, thats why he can chose from both lores.

That's not what the rules say. Guardian of Souls is a wizard, and if you include him in the army, then the allegiance rules say he knows an additional spell as stated. The Lores of the Dead rules do not contradict this: (pg 70)

WIZARDS that know an additional spell (or spells) from one of the Lores of the Dead, as described in their army's allegiance abilities generate their spells from the following tables.

That right there confirms, let's look at the other rules on the page (emphasis mine):

You MUST generate any additional spells for DEATHMAGES WIZARDS from the Lore of the Deathmages.

Guardian of Souls does not have the DEATHMAGES keyword, so it ignores this rule. It doesn't have the VAMPIRE or DEATHLORDS keywords either, so it ignores those other rules too. The rules do not say that only DEATHMAGES and VAMPIRES can choose spells, quite the opposite, it says what spells DEATHMAGES and VAMPIRES can not take.
