Twh30
Hi there recently bought sylthaneth start collecting box as was interested in the army. Now considering a mixed order list with a empthasis on them. Any one got any advice, examples or tips on going about put the list together. Cheers
heywoah_twitch
The strength of sylvaneth is critically held within their allegiance teleporting ability and the free wildwoods they can set up and summon, as well as the strong artefacts and spell lores, all of which you'd lose by going mixed order. I wouldn't recommend it. In other words they are very synergistic within their own army list, but when you lose those you're left with underwhelming and overpriced dudes. (edit: though if you're looking for just a little sylvaneth spice to add to an otherwise diverse mixed order list, consider a loremaster buffing some sylvaneth behemoth like durthu)
Twh30
Cool thank you will look into the lore master also could just add some allies couldn't ? Or or would pure sylthaneth army being more advised
heywoah_twitch
Allies let you keep sylvanneth allegiance just fine (up to 400pts worth in a 2k army). The forest folk are filled with anger and betrayal at most of the outside world (even aelves) and only accept stormcast help currently. Luckily you have some good choices in there. AdamR
Correct! Plus if you take a Gnarlwood battalion you can add any order wizard or an Ironbark battalion lets you take up to 2 duardin units. None of these would need to come from your allies allowance either.
Twh30
Was thinking of adding some wild riders and sisters of the thorn . Cool I may look at the battalions to
GM_Monkey
Sister of the Thorn works well with Dryads because of the Shield of Thorns spell. Dryads +1 to save for 12 or more models means that you can cause mortal wounds on a save roll of 5 or 6.
