emd1983
Hey guys! Looking through the last White Dwarf, I saw an awesome paint job on some of the Chaos scenery. I've been asking around, and trying to work out how it was done, but no-one seems very sure. Might any of you hobby-heroes be able to help me out? Thanks! S133arcanite
I imagine ceramite white washed lightly with Carrobourg Crimson and drybrushed some sort of white again. Metal same but with leadbelcher instead of ceramite.
AlphaKennyThing
Corax White undercoat. Watered down Carrobourg Crimson in the detailed areas, and then drybrushed white (maybe Pallid Wych Flesh for off-white) again. I'm going for a similar look with my chaos scenery, but I've gone for a bright slate grey stone instead of white.
Lysandestolpe
Yep, @AlphaKennyThing is right. It's an off white like Pallid Wych Flesh and not a straight up white. They are probably using white for just a final drybrush on the detailing and not as a foundation. That's what gives it a more richer, fuller look. Flat white tends to do just that, flatten things out.
