  1. I hope this helps! Not many guides on YouTube so far and none from GW.
  2. I swear they said August for Warclans and Stormcast?
  3. https://youtu.be/l5HcO8t2OII For those short on time, here's a method to get them on the table pretty quick!
  4. I think they look really good. Definitely going to get a couple of the Dominion boxes (subject to supply levels) so I can make a decent sized army out of them!
  5. Hi all! I figured I'd make a thread where I can link my speed painting tutorials for Soulblight Gravelords stuff. It's an army that often has a lot of models to get through, so I've started making guides on how to paint things as quickly as possible whilst still maintaining a decent result. No-one likes playing against a field of grey plastic, and hopefully this will help. I'll pick up some zombies at some point and do the same with that. Let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like to see.
  6. I'm gonna find a way to use them, as I don't often play competitively. I reckon they'll get reduced in points pretty quick when people keep putting 1/3 of the Start Collecting box in the bin. I really think they should have had the stats of mounted Grave Guard, because that's literally what the models are when you look at their armour. Barrow Lance 4+/3+/-1/1 Deathly Charge: Add 1 to the rend and damage characteristics of this unit's Barrow Lances in the Fight Phase if the unit made a charge move in the same turn. 120pts would be acceptable then.
  7. My 15 Black Knights are sad. I hope they're priced accordingly points wise so I can still get some use out of them. In my opinion they should be basically mounted Grave Guard, I was hoping they'd get a little buff.
  8. Hi all! With AoS 3.0 coming and that mega picture of the new Stormcast, I figured I'd make a video to help anyone else wanting to paint their models as Ghur's own Stormcast Eternals - the Knights Excelsior. I think they're the perfect guys and gals to fight the forces of Destruction. Normally painting a white based armour is a chore, but I've made a tutorial to paint them to the standard shown in the photo in under 30 mins a model. Critical Hit Speed Painting Guide: Knights Excelsior If anyone wants me to work out quick ways of painting anything else, let me know and I'll knock something up.
  9. I'm gonna go so far as to suggest we'll probably see the following: An Indomitus style box. New Stormcast vs Destruction faction. Loads of cool models, big weighty tome included, instant sell-out. In addition to battalion changes, changes to the deployment of forces and changes to command points and what you can use them on I think there will be a change to terrain rules. Not as extensive as 40k, just a slightly more detailed version to make terrain more useful. New board size - New boards and scenery to match the 40k minimum and a box similar to Vertigus with a load of stuff in. I reckon a Ghur rocky mountain style side and then something Azyrite on the other. New starter sets. I think they'll be identical in layout to their 40k cousins, with slimmed down rulebooks.
  10. The man is not lying. I literally pile killy stuff into stuff that needs to be killed, faster killy stuff into stuff that needs to be bashed a bit more urgently, and then the less killy and more bashy stuff sits on objectives but still bashes and and very much kills stuff. Simple, see?
  11. I was thinking earlier on today, if there is a chance of a LoN style Greenskinz tome, could it be possible that they'll lump all Orruks in there in one go? Ironjawz, Bonesplitterz and Greenskinz? Although each is fairly exclusive compared to the others, I can't really think of any reason that they couldn't all be in one book, to be honest. If the LoN theme is 'all the dead stuff', it makes sense that a big book of different flavours of Orruks would just be the book containing 'all the Green stuff'.
  12. That's the way I see it. If you still have large collections of old WHFB armies, you can bring them back to the tabletop in Open and Narrative Play - it is quite clear they are not intending for them to appear in Matched Play. Matched Play is something they continually have to tweak and adjust to keep balanced, trying to do that for a load of Legends factions that don't even exist in the setting is not something they're going to so. Personally I think it's great they've made a mini-tome to update all the warscrolls and give you something decent to work with when playing the old factions. To update it even after rules changes is a nice gesture too!
  13. Anyone else notice that Magore's Fiends have no attack profile for the Flesh Hound in the AoS warscroll?
  14. Using half the board for a 33"x44.5" game board works fantastically for skirmish. The ruins provided in the box alone used on one half make a great amount of scenery, a second box is even better.
  15. One for Overgrown, and the other for Aqshy, which is already painted and kind of fits the aesthetic. I want to get some realmgates for the fire side.
  16. I ordered another two sets of ruins in the end, and will probably paint up my Skull Keep and Overlord Bastion in a colour that matches the board.
  17. Yeah, I have one of the 2007 standard game boards. What I meant was, it's not clear if they've made a board and taken a picture of it, or if they've used it as a template but photoshopped in the colouring, as the little skull pools look almost sketched. I'm almost certain it's just a picture of a painted standard realm of battle board, though. As for the rules, you're right - it's a bit of a ****** ruling as there are few units you can actually get wholly within 1". This half the reason I suggested using the boundaries as area terrain. I'm reluctant to make scenic bases and stick the ruins to it, as I like the fact you can set them up however you like.
  18. It is pretty sturdy, to be fair. As you can see in the video, mine overhangs off the side of my table by 4-5" on either side, and I can rest all my 2000pts of Ironjawz models on it and it still doesn't bend or lift in the middle.
  19. Hi all, I've made a video review of the new Blasted Hallowheart and Azyrite Ruins available from GW. If you're contemplating picking it up, but aren't sure, you can check out both sides of it set up in the video below. I also discuss the dimensions issue, but I can confirm it is 66"x44.5", so you lose 3" off either side of your deployment zone, and 1.75" off the back of it. I personally really like it, £42 for an extra two game boards was great. If you're like me and have a small house with a table that won't fit a 6x4 floppy mat and need something more sturdy, this works a treat. Fire away with thoughts and opinions!
  20. They measure 66"x43". You'd be a bit short width ways at only 33", but with plenty of terrain it'd still be decent.
  21. I'm personally going to pick up the Blasted Hallowheart set. Despite it not being a full 6'x4' board, it's only 3.5" off width ways, and 5.5" or so off lengthways. Slightly adjusted deployment zones and it's still game on. I'm after the ruins, which are going to be £20-25 alone, so I'll just pay the extra £25 for essentially two extra game boards. They'll be great for a quick thrown down with the Open War cards, or a more relaxed Matched Play game, or even Path to Glory. May use half of it for a Skirmish game, or something like that. Either way, it'll get used, and it fits much nicer on my dining room table than precariously balancing my Realm of Battle board off each edge! They get a lot of stick for being card, but the detail is really nice on 'em.
  22. That's a good idea, a TGA Cup would be a great promoter for the site, too. It would take a lot of organising, but I'm sure there are plenty of people on here who would willingly help out. A big tournament at £10 a ticket would probably raise a fair amount even after costs of venue hire and all that. Someone would have to design an official Grand Alliance logo, though.
  23. I decided with all the talk of Death and the big update they're getting, it was about time I reminded you all not to forget which faction is still boss with a small addition to the bass of my Maw Krusha...
