Aelford
A few friends and myself have decided to play the amazing Hinterlands skirmish warband rule set in the upcoming future (aiming to start in May). With this I've decided to do a little blog to document the ventures and tell the story of my warbands rise to glory, hopefully! In this blog I'll be posting pictures of the warband as they grow in size, the expansion of scenery I want to do for the tabletop and the background for my warband and their Lord Kharouth. First up is the warband I'll be starting out with. Lord Kharouth on Daemonic Mount 2 x Chaos Warriors with great blades 2 x Pink Horrors 2 x Blue Horrors Marauder with shield And the first picture of a work in progress Lord on Daemonic Mount. This is my first attempt at sculpting chain mail, I probably should of practiced but was very eager to get the project started. Let me know what you think, and I'll be back soon with some more pictures and some background. Adam @elfordminis
Circus of Paint
Great use of one of the recent Stormcast characters! You'll get the hang of chainmail. Looking forward to seeing the rest, especially the Horrors!
Galas
The execution its very good! Those beasts are very deamonic, I think of using those to Tzeentch warbands myself! Can I ask you where that head its from? I have seen it used in some conversions and I just want to use it in myne! Those helmets with big horns are my favourite stile of chaos! Like the Helmet of the Chaos Lord in the Dark Vengeance set of 40k
Aelford
The head is from the Varanguard set. Lovely parts in that kit!So, I've also started work on converting a Nurgle warband. Loving the creativity this gives you to personalise every model. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Soulsmith
I absolutely love this. I really want at some point to do a lord and chaos knight palladors for tzeentch, Im not sure if theyre even that good but bird cavalry is tzeentch! What did you use on the chest of the mount as well?

Davariel
Awesome stuff so far, very creative use of the new kits! It's weird but somehow I find Stormcasts look much better as Chaos models! Maybe their large scale just isn't as noticeable amongst the already bulky Chaos warriors
Aelford
Yeah, they are great as a basis model. Here's a couple of more pictures. This is a little test colour for the blue of the Tzeentch warband. And the start of the Nurgle warband - For the Harbinger of Decay, I wanted to update the model to the likes of the newer models, while trying to stay true to the warscroll and original model. So it has a scythe and shield, and also has a head which is very similar to that from the original model. I plan on using some of the crackle paints on the armour sections to make it seem like it's cracked and rusted over time. Love to hear your thoughts. Aelford
I went and finished a plaguebearer for the Nurgle warband. Let me know what you think Adam@elfordminis
Tzaangor Management
Often these guys look a bit dull and washed out from what I've seen, but this guy looks like he's feeling every brightly coloured sore! I like the sword too. Is that as simple a scheme as it looks, or are there some hidden steps?
Aelford
It is a pretty simple scheme to be honest. Took a few hours. Just glazing different areas and building it up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ZealousJ
I love that harbinger of decay conversion. Far far better than the stock model.

DynamicCalories
*casually mods a varanguard* *sweating* They look really good, not a fan of the old Plague Bearers but everything else is on point
Galas
Oh man, if just the Varanguard models where cheaper, I'll use them just to collect conversion bitzs! And to make totally customizable chaos lords.
Aelford
I know right! Some awesome parts on those kits! Thanks for your kind words on the Harbinger. He's primed and ready to paint. But his followers as being painted first. Here's a second plaguebearer. There will be 3-4 different skin tones amongst the units as well as the newer plastic models added in when it becomes an army! And a wip of the Harbinger's base It's hard to see from the picture, but you can see dead leaves and stuff in the water effects lower than those on top. I'm thinking of doing the mortal part of the force with armour like the blades of the Plaguebearers to tie them in together. Whats your thoughts on that? Let me know what you think of the progress. Always nice to hear your thoughts! And remember... Papa Nurgle is watching... Adam Twitter - @elfordminis
Galas
That plaguebearer face Mortal Nurgle follower with armour like the blades of the demons will be beautifull. Like armor made of obsidian.
Aelford
I've done a test model for the Warriors. This one with a great weapon. Haven't finished a base yet, will hopefully finish them this weekend. I've also painted up some scenery real quick to fill the board out. Will post pictures of those later. Aelford
So I've been a little preoccupied recently. But I have been doing some more painting. Only in the form or plaguebearers, but it's still progress right?! I want to add maybe another colour into the 20 I plan to eventually have. As always, let me know what you think.
