  1. I think that looks great! - Not totally sold on the Umbral Spellportals or the Blades of Putrefaction myself, but like you said - minor tweaks. Try to play a few games like this and report back to us, yeah?
  2. I won a GW gift-voucher at a tournament the other day, and I need some advice on what to spend it on! Currently torn between a box of Pusgoyles, and another SC! box. Pusgoyles I could use as either a pair of regular ones, or as two individual Lords of Affliction - Both options seem interesting! The SC! box would be so that I can finally have 30 Plaguebearers (I only have 20 right now) - The extra stuff would at least be 40k compatible, and maybe I could actually paint a set of decent-looking drones for once.
  3. I know that feeling all too well - It's the exact same for me. Anyway, since you seem really interested in 1k lists, I'll let you see both of mine: Harbinger of Decay - 160 Sorcerer - 120 Poxbringer, Herald of Nurgle - 120 Beast of Nurgle - 100 Putrid Blightkings - 160 Putrid Blightkings - 160 Putrid Blightkings - 160 980 / 1000 So I've played a couple games with ^ this list already, and I've found it works really well. 3 units of kings still work reliably within the command ability from the harbinger, as well as his artefact of power (I always go for The Witherstave with him). The sorcerer lets you have a try at hero sniping with the Plague Squall spell, plus the spell from the Poxbringer lets you decide how to cycle your wheel (Usually between 5-6 to get more mortal wounds off for more hero-sniping, plus having your enemy re-roll 6's to wound really cripples some armies). You also get two unbinds with this list, plus that beast can always run + charge to tie up a unit you don't fancy allowing to advance. He's actually really, really tanky (though not very killy). Another nice thing about having the beast along is that you can use him to secure your backline objective by holding him back some, perhaps letting him grab one objective while your wizards go for whichever backline objective is closest to a terrain feature you like. That list being 980 instead of bang-on 1000 is also good for earning the extra bonus, or denying your enemy that bonus even if he's 980/990 as well. On to my second list: Harbinger of Decay - 160 Sorcerer - 120 Chaos Sorcerer Lord on Manticore - 200 Putrid Blightkings - 160 Putrid Blightkings - 160 Putrid Blightkings - 160 960 / 1000 ^ This list is similar to the first, except this time you don't bring a beast - sacrificing the ability to easily hold a backline objective, or charging in to tie up an enemy unit. However, the sorcerer lord on manticore brings a unique spell, as well as granting you better saves on one of your units for free. He can also fly, which is essential for when your plague squall and wheel just won't let you snipe properly, and you find you actually need to fly across all those enemy chaff units blocking your path. This list is also a little cheaper, further enhancing your ability to gain a small bonus, or deny that same bonus to your enemy.
  4. Nope, the Gnarlmaw counts as scenery, and not as a unit
  5. He's in stock right this very second as far as I can tell? Epidemius and the Maggoth Lords however, are out of stock.
  6. Just use your command point for "Forward to Victory" and those kings will get to re-roll their charge if needed
  7. Using Plaguetouched as Allegiance: Chaos instead of Allegiance: Nurgle doesn't seem that jarring to me? I'd only really miss the artefacts of power - The wheel is nice and all but for a unit like Blightkings, Chaos has some pretty nice abilities (Like +1 to hit order, suddenly they're throwing D6 attacks on 5+ instead of 6+). We're also getting a ton of new artefacts in Malign Sorcery, so even that loss won't hurt too bad. Didn't people mostly play Plaguetouched as Allegiance: Chaos to begin with? Except for these past couple of months where we've had our Maggotkin tome?
  8. Either way I think that list looks fun, and at 960 you have the choice between bringing an endless spell, or exchanging 10 of those plaguebearers in favor of 5 blightkings - both options are good!
  9. Orghotts? - With a list like that, don't you mean Morbidex? Nurgling-lists love him
  10. I find horticulous to be overcosted - And high costs become more jarring than usual in low-cost lists like 750, 1k, or 1250. If I were to change one of them, I'd exchange a poxbringer for a Lord of Blights. That would net you a nice command ability to screen your kings from ranged attacks, as well as grant them a ranged attack with which to retalitate! - I would still be sure to keep my Poxbringer as the artifact-holder however, as The Witherstave is one of the best artefacts of power in the game imo. Bringing a lord of blights over one of the poxbringers would make the list 740. You'd be missing one spell-cast and one unbind per turn - and gain a ranged attack and a counter-ranged attack command ability. No room for any endless spells.
  11. Two poxbringers and three units of blightkings! - You'd be competitive in every stretch of the range. Lots of wounds, great saves, plenty of spells and unbinds, extreme wound output. and much, much more. That would be 720 points, so you even have enough left over to grab an endless spell for your poxbringers if you like - I recommend Soulsnare Shackles so you can herd your opponent towards where you need him to be!
  12. Whatever you do, max out on saves! Bring the new artifact that gives your hero a 4+ save against Mortal Wounds, bring a Harbinger of Decay for that nice 5+ save aura, and consider a Chaos Warshrine for an additional 6+
  13. I agree. I've got 3,500 points of Nurgle stuff by now, and I find the Blightkings kit is by far the best and most exciting. So many amazing bits! I have 25 blightkings painted and they're all individuals, no two are alike!
  14. Sure! With 1 harbinger and 3x5 kings, you've got just the right size for them all to be covered by Morbid Vigour, plus since the harbinger has Daemon keyword, you can give him The Witherstave and make your enemy re-roll all their 6's to hit (very useful, blightkings are not the only unit with shenanigans resulting from 6's to hit). 3x5 stacked kings will also splash each other with virulent discharge, as well as the enemy. All of that for just 640 points, plus it covers battleline! Throw in some casters (Poxbringer, Sorcerer), and a unit to either hold a backline objective (10 Plaguebearers?) or screen where it's needed (Beast of Nurgle) and you're set!
  15. My personal opinion is that Epidemius is too expensive for a 1k list.
  16. I'll be filling holes in total points with Endless Spells instead. I'm worried about objective-holders though. I haven't seen the new battleplans, but Knife to the Heart requiring 5 models to sit at the back the whole game through is a painful thing for my blightking-heavy army to build lists around, and I am worried we'll have more battleplans like that - ones that require you to set aside lots of points and models to do absolutely nothing for a full game.
  17. Next month AoS 2.0 will be in effect, where 20 is the minimum unit size for chaos marauders - You'll need to take at least 20 per unit in order to have a legal list!
