  1. I've tried something similar. The one thing I found them really lacking in is a hammer to the anvil, so I'd suggest some chaos knights or daemons to provide a punch. Maybe it's just my bad luck but Chaos Warriors seem to do very little in terms of damage (but maybe a few Slaaneshi buffs would help that - their command abilities are really good).
  2. It would surprise me if we didn't get any information on Wrath and Rapture and/or Blackstone Fortress. Seems weird that they'd tease them and then not mention them for ages - I think they're likely to come within the year.
  3. Can we ever take Lore of the Wild and still be Slaanesh allegiance? I may be wrong here, but I thought that you had to be a particular allegiance (in this case, Beasts of Chaos) to use their spell lores. Does anyone think the Lord of Change will be worth taking? I can't help but think his casting may be wasted at the moment, but maybe when we have our own spells he can be there to cast endless spells or just throw out a spare mystic shield or arcane bolt, as well as his own spell (which is decent).
  4. Ah, that's a shame. Do you know of any good Tzeentch units (besides the gaunt summoner) that'd be useful for us to take?
  5. Ah, oops! Must have been thinking of the wrong blue goats when I read the rule Are skyfires still worth it? They are very expensive
  6. Actually, it may not be practical, but we can combo breathtaker and Tzaangor enlightened. They reroll all failed hit and wound rolls if they attack first - if they're attacking a unit which has been hit by breathtaker, then they'll always be attacking first. If you wanted to go all out, you could have 4 units of on foot enlightened against one unit, doing an average of 10 damage each against a 4+ save (so 40 over 4 units). Probably not worth the full investment, but 200 points for two units may not be a bad deal.
  7. Nice catch! Weird how Tzeentch can't ally with us, but oh well. Here's the FAQ for anyone wondering: This actually opens up a lot of options for us. Not just good wizards (better gaunt summoner to deal with hordes), but also some disgusting shooting from the skyfires - hero sniping is always useful. Anyone else have good ideas for our newfound allies?
  8. He's definitely strong, but I think his low wounds per point is going to be his downfall. With the amount of mortal wounds some armies can chuck out, seeing this thing on the table would be a huge "shoot me here" sign. Definitely strong, but I wouldn't say overpoweringly so due to the risk of your opponent taking him down in focus fire before he has the chance to do all that much.
  9. Love the dragon (though I can't see him seeing much play for 1200pts!) but I wish he was for Chaos undivided (and markable). Would just be nice to see fewer Khorne only models from FW.
  10. In a 2000pt game, they accumulate much faster than you'd think. That said, don't make the mistakes I do and forget about everything else in lieu of depravity points
  11. Interesting similarity (picture is the claw of the old KoS). Not identical, but it shows the style has been in the range before.
  12. I've found a pimped up Exalted keeper generates the most, so long as you put it against other big things. I expect to see between 30 and 50 points in a standard game.
  13. While it looks cruel and elegant (making me think of Slaanesh), the damage to the plate makes me doubt that (they seem the type to keep their stuff in pristine condition). It looks kind of similar to the grot armour that we saw in Underworlds, but I have a feeling that we won't get grots for a while (hope I'm wrong, though).
  14. Totally agree - both Seekers and Invaders are great as is, but Invaders is unfortunate considering how good it was in 1st. There isn't enough benefit for the penalty of keeping your general's apart. Either more command points, or they all get a command trait, or something more exciting would be nice to see. That said, there is a chance we get some command abilities that have the stipulation of "if this model is your general, you can use this ability". I know DoK would love to have invaders.
  15. I agree with you, but I would like our current allegiance abilities expanding upon. So, Seekers could give +1-2" movement, but maybe they also let you always roll a 6 when you run. Maybe Pretenders lets the pretender reroll 1s when they're near a sufficient number of fans. Maybe Invaders could be changed to do something meaningful, like give 2 extra command points at the beginning of the game. While they're good, it feels like our abilities are sparse compared to Battletome armies - they could do with just a little bit extra. That said, I love our command traits, and most of our artefacts are decent. We mostly need a new spell lore and maybe a few new command abilities on new heroes. Some good battalions would be nice too. If the rumour about a harp player Herald is correct, then we may even see some kind of music lore - a dirge to strengthen our units, or weaken enemies. We can hope
  16. I also heard the Slaaneshi harp herald rumours. I can't give the exact source, but I was told about it by someone on a Facebook Slaanesh page who said they got it from a person who works at GW (when I asked for specifics, they said no as it would put the person's job at risk). Not the most solid rumour, but I believe that this is where it came from
  17. It's okay. Apparently a Warhammer TV stream said it was okay to use the Fallacious Gift to trigger the artefact ability, but we've had no official FAQ on that; if it is the case, then it's pretty nice to put a black spot on one of the big heroes.
  18. Hopefully they get a rules update when the new models come out. Does anyone remember if the Beasts of Nurgle got a rules update? I know they're not considered good, but were they even worse before?
  19. While I agree that we should try keep to rumours as much as possible, it's more difficult to set apart rumour and wish listing than one would think. For example, in the case of Fyreslayers, the general consensus is that they lack unit variety. A rumour crops up saying that there'll be more FS stuff. It would be logical to assume that this rumoured release would help fix this problem - at what point does assuming that FS unit variety will be increased cross from discussing the rumour to wishlisting? Another example would be the Keeper of Secrets. Is it wishlisting to assume there will be a new one released with the Slaanesh stuff? Is it only rumoured because it's logical to assume we will get a plastic one? While saying "I'm really hoping they release more Devoted of Sigmar" is pure wishlisting, I'm not so sure taking logical guesses at what may be in a rumoured release is wishlisting. I've seen quite a few concerns over the thread about some topics going off course, and I believe there's some uncertainty in what this thread is meant for. There are obvious functions, but questions on how far one should discuss rumours are more difficult to make out. In addition, not being allowed to post leaked images stops a lot of rumours being properly discussed.
  20. Looks like we can definitely, without question, take the Depraved Drove battalion in Slaanesh as per the FAQ.
  21. You'd think that Chaos lords would be actively trying to avoid apotheosis as it seems to make them worse ? I doubt it'd happen, but I hope GW rethink AoS daemon princes. At the moment they seem pretty weak - not something that a lord would have to dominate countless civilisations for. Something like a 2+ to wound, more wounds, more attacks, a better save, or any combination of would make them feel much closer to what they're meant to represent. I like the axe, and I really want to use it for the rend, but 4+ to hit as never felt so much like 6+ to hit.
  22. While it's no guarantee, there is a fiend in the artwork on the video for W&R. I think the artwork is new so I'd imagine it's part of the box set, and it would seem odd to have a fiend if it wasn't part of the set itself. A bit of he-said-she-said, but there was also someone who went to NOVA who mentioned that there would be new models for both forces. I would imagine the fiend is the new Slaanesh model. Again, it confirms nothing, but it is something to consider.
  23. The command abilities we have are Slaanesh specific. It's a shame beastmen aren't mortals or daemon.
  24. Totally agree with this: I would hope that all factions get new models at some point. Supported factions make the game feel alive, and I would reckon make people more willing to start new armies as there'd always be the chance of something new. If someone looks at a faction and see they've not been updated for 10+ years then it doesn't look very appetizing to start it. As for a popularity of Slaanesh, I have no idea but from the last poll on here, they seem popular-ish for a non-battletome faction. That said, there are a lot of 3rd party Slaanesh-like models so I don't know how much of that popularity translates into sales. Haha, yeah that could be it. They've really gotta be careful with what mysterious scrolls they leave lying around
  25. They describe them as being 'silk-clad', and the normal daemonettes tend to wear leather. The character also seemed to know what she's doing as she made a concoction to lure the Seekers specifically (so she'd likely know that daemons existed), so I doubt she'd mistake the claws as fake. In a fantasy world, it's probably sensible to take things at face value - if a monster looks real, it's safer to assume it is real.
