  1. Agreed! KO has an awesome range, it's not that the book is stuck in the past, it has been subject to a nerf at every juncture since its release. The biggest thing is skyhooks going from 3 damage to D3 combined with new books power surge, KO got left behind on the damage output train. I think a slight tune up on points and we are off to the races.
  2. It seems the Cancon list got covered and it's defiantly a good one. A modified version of clown car is also quite good! Gary Percival did quite well the other day going 4-1 at a UK GT. Link and list below! Definitely take a look a this article and the enclosed link to the table top TO page for the event, you can see who he played against and read their lists, its super helpful when list building to identify potential faults. I also dropped the link to Alex Khrons tactics/list building article on AoS shorts. 3. Nowhere is safe from the Deepkin!!! Even the KO forum hahahaha.
  4. Any particular reason you did not go for the battalion with 3x raptors and atherwings? Currently mulling over a similar list.
  5. How does everyone deal with Deepkin? Pretty tough not being able to choose a unit to shoot at when all you want to do is kill the eels.
  6. Yeah if the woods change they are gonna need some other revamps for sure, as I find that not only are our units pointed to include the woods but they are central to any strategy. But given the track record of great battle tombs that have come out recently I think we should get something reasonable to work with. I just finished painting so it would be a bummer to see a big fat nerf!
  7. Looks like about 30-40 days from first teaser video to actual release. That being said I doubt we hear anything during the ramp up to the other releases announced so we definitely have at least a few weeks. On a separate note I'm a bit shocked that Sylveneth have been picked for a new book, the current one has aged quite well, will definitely be interested to see how the play style evolves.
  8. Anyone have strong feelings on this list from Sheffield slaughter? Just looking to see what some others think. It went 5-0, but it's pretty easy to imagine that most of his opponents were unsure on how to handle FEC at this early stage.
  9. I am also concerned that a new book would largely be a nerf. We've got a cool army here that allows for highly dynamic play. A lot of the new keywords (wholly within etc.) would be a huge blow to our biggest asset, mobility. Hopefully any changes just update things to the "new battle tomb model" and leave it at that.
  10. Is there a points change for any of the monsters?
  11. A very cool idea indeed! It would certainly be better if GW just had left summoning out of matched play, entirely. To me it kills a lot of the balance.
  12. Do we know if there is a new KO battle tomb on the way? It would be great to get even a slight refresh!
  13. @GrandAdmiralAutumn it would be awesome to see a rundown of your games! Did you run into any armies that had a lot of ignore rend troops (grimghast reapers etc.)? If so how did you deal with it? Awesome to see KO do so well!
  14. I also agree harvest boon is awesome! I'm running without Allarialle though as I wanted a bit more punch with some more hunters. Dyrads really do pull their weight, that -1 to hit is just great. All that being said I agree Sylveneth have a ton to choose from right now, they can be frustrating because most losses stem from a mistake that the Sylveneth player makes rather than the opponent. I find that I'm playing most of my games against myself. This is what I've been running Durthu Branchwraithx3 30 Dyrads x2 10 dyrads 6 hunters with scythes harvest boon/forestfolk cogs
  15. Could not agree more, I believe there are many competitive Stormcast builds you just don't see them because most people follow tried and true methods (which is totally reasonable considering the cost of buying/painting an army) . I'm definitely curious to see if GW takes a new stance on this in the January FAQ. Have you heard any rumors of such?
  16. @Lhw Thanks! It's always great to get an idea of what some other players are doing. Do you find that you are coming up short with damage output? Or do you feel like you have just enough and the dryads are great placeholders? I know Allariele can put down the hurt but I usually whiff with the dryads (although I run gnarlroot so no extra attacks).
  17. Awesome! Allariele certainly provides some serious flexibility. Would you mind giving us a rundown of your matchups?
  18. Curious what you summon most times with Allariele? Thanks for posting about this!
  19. Awesome! Do you happen to have the complete list?
  20. @Nixon looks solid! Plenty of hunters leaping across the table!
  21. @Nixon I also thought free spirits on their own could be solid! Curious what you are running? Not taking the 2nd larger battalion certainly frees up some points for many options! @SpiritofHokuto I really see no reason why free spirits cannot teleport during the hero phase, see the below rules excerpts. Free spirits states move as though it was the movement phase and alliance abilities establishes that if you are moving in the moment phase you may instead teleport. Free spirits rule "move each unit from the free spirits as though it were the movement phase (they cannot run)...." Allegiance abilities "If a sylvaneth unit is within 3'' of a wildwood at the start of your movement phase, it can attempt to traverse the spirit paths instead of moving normally"
  22. Hey all! I'm typically a gnarlroot player but something in the book has caught my eye. Has anyone head success or any stories at all with heartwood/free spirits? It seems like it could be an extremely affective Alpha strike with the bonus hero phase move for all 4 units of hunters and Durthu. You could pretty feasibly delete a major unit on the first turn and then lock the rest of your opponents army in their deployment zone leaving all the objectives to you. Additionally with heartwoods ability to regenerate entire units of dryads and tree revs it could really hang with even the toughest summoning army. I have an example (by no means optimal) list below! Pease what are your thoughts! Tell me! For reference heartwood allows you to roll a die, on a 6 or higher (adding one for each unit of hunters on the table) you get to place a unit of dryads, tree revs or spites that was destroyed within a board edge or wood. Free spirits allows all members of the battalion (Durthu and all the hunters) to move in the hero phase (including teleporting) and then move again in the moment phase pretty much ensuring any charge.
