  1. That's just where it's been 3d printed and not cleaned up yet We've seen it on other models in the past.
  2. GW does all of their sculpting digitally now, so it's more likely they grabbed the Tzeentch head from Archaon when they made the Lord of Change.
  3. Likewise I've still got my entire game in truth (plus some of the expansions and a second GM book)
  4. I'm sure that I will pick this up, but will say that my initial impression was "where are the spiders, bats and rats?". Personally the biggest thing missing in the two new format WHQ boxes has been the random encounters with things that live in a dungeon! But I'm encouraged by the move towards a more generic format.
  5. Have heard this from the painters themselves too, best example is the Shattered Dominion bases on the box are 3d-prints
  6. I'm thinking it's a 40k model as the style fits quite a bit of the existing building scenery. I'm making a long shot guess that it's a new Chaos character as we've not had anything like that yet (and Chaos is after all the main protagonist currently).
  7. Don't want to get into a prolonged discussion on this in the rumour thread as I replied 6 pages ago and it's fairly out of context now (we've loads of exciting Stormcast pics to peer at). If you see the new daemon prince model in the flesh you may change your opinion (you may not). GW have massively upped the game because of advances with plastic technology and 3d-sculpting allowing them to get more detail in. FW are purely resin which hasn't fundamentally changed in how models are molded and cast for decades. That said, many FW models suffer when they're painted and photographed, almost having too much detail. The point I was trying to make FW are able to produce some decent quality fantasy models. Saying that everything they produce is under-par is only your opinion or incorrect. --- However lets continue to froth over the new Stormcast bits and wonder if I can refrain from painting up a couple of chambers
  8. I think the bit that strikes me is there's quite a lot of "free" upgrades for SE armies - priests get an extra prayer each, totems get an extra ability etc. Will be interesting to see how this changes the armies we see being fielded and how long it takes for other armies to be brought up to v2 status. Would have loved to see unbinding for priest vs priest (my god's better than yours)
  9. Sorry bit late to the party (had last week off ) It was Keith Robertson who sculpted him and confirmed it was his last AoS sculpt for a while as he's moving over to specialist games. Like James I saw the plain resin model last year and the paint job doesn't do the model justice, there's lots of nods to different models across the Bloodbound range and the FW Bloodthirster. Would also say the model is superior to the GW Daemon Prince Think this is a tad harsh. Currently FW are massively understaffed on the sculptor front (they're advertising for two more full time sculptors) and everybody is being pulled from pillar to post to cover HH, Specialist and various other projects. FW will always be producing models that veer on the realistic front - it's what they're known for and set up to do. The new Bloodbowl models - those were done by FW, as are Fimir and Chaos Dwarves and I don't think anybody would say they're under-par. That's not FW's GUO - that's a HH special character "Corax Utterblight" so follows the HH style rather than the new fantastical AoS style.
  10. Although this sounds a little harsh, I wouldn't put too much credit on them having Mr Blanche on their friends list (I have too). John is using his FB page to share lots of his artwork whilst he's convalescing at home and is the first one to say that he's not heavily involved with GW currently.
  11. Though it does seem initially everything is existing sculpts, I'm going to reserve judgement a little. Looking at it, are not all of the models available as a hero card/app purchase? In which case the only "new" bit is the blightkings. Could be very much they're pushing that it's a continuation of your heroes adventures Here's the bigger picture link
  12. Though I think we may see existing heroes ported over (or possibly alternative sculpts?) I'm hoping the contents will be newer. I'm hoping for more of a classic feel WHQ - so a mixture of baddies to fight against
  13. Looks like the new announcement is a Warhammer Quest expansion - Warhammer Quest Shadows over Hammerhal : https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/24/your-quest-continues/ And yes - that's a Duardin and Aelf from the looks of it
  14. Funnily enough that was my immediate hope when they said keep an eye out tomorrow. Quite like the idea of seeing different styles of Stormcast on the table, especially if we're going to see different traits appearing
  15. Anyone else think a vampire conversion on the cards for the emissary
  16. Looks like you should have the pleasure of both me and my brother for this one once booking opens Probably head back to on the train overnight though as it works out cheaper! Guess we're looking at 2k?
  17. I agree to a certain extent. I think where the biggest amount of confusion lies is that wounds become damage which then become wounds again. It would have been clearer to stick to damage - e.g. "If any damage is suffered roll a...". But we're far too far down that path to change things now and as you say a large portion is cleared up by spending a bit more time reading the rules & abilities rather than skimming. I also think that our knowledge of the game is continuously being expanded on by watching streamed events - it's so much easier to learn when you watch people play. But I'm now waffling and have gone vastly off topic
  18. My first thought was 40k, which it seems that I'm not on my own about. We've not had "bullets" for any of the races (they all use shot) and can't see them verging into that territory without breaking the high fantasy theme. Bearing in mind we know 40k is going large this year I fully expect this to be something for that - @shinros good call on Cypher
  19. Mis-read that as "sell the car, my wife and kids"
  20. I believe they'll either stay on that channel or be lost.
  21. It allows them to do two streams such as when they covered The Hobbit and Blood and Glory
  22. Zooming out, the creature has zebra stripes and fur, the weapon looks like a collapsible crossbow. I think gryph something makes sense. It's certainly mount sized when you look at the size of the highlights & stock of the weapon.
  23. I think I see what you're saying. In my head I was probably looking at it the other way round. Lets say you get Wrathmongers as a battleline if your general is a Skullgrinder (hypothetically as he's not got his own command ability), that works great for a really punchy Khorne army, massive blob of Wrathmongers storming across the board. But there's nothing stopping you putting in a unit of Stormfiends, suddenly you've gone from something you can justify as a Khorne army to something that isn't. In fairness I think if this idea were applied to the smaller factions then it would be pretty good, as you say the larger grand alliances would end up with a massive advantage but being selective would actually add quite a bit of flavour. In truth there's nothing stopping having a mixture of "becomes battleline" rules across each faction rather than the one or two we've currently got.
  24. Not a fan of replacing all of the allegiance battleline with linking to specific heroes. The extra battleline option for a specific allegiance is intended to help you build up a mono-faction army, leaving the general to your choice. However I do think we're seeing a change in how multi-faction allegiances will work (Tzeentch) which could make this mute I could see some millage in having some battleline linked to your general's keywords (Mortal Nurgle for example), but it does seem to be adding complexity to this side of things, especially when there are a fair few battleline choices for the newer armies (granted the older armies need some love).
