  1. I don't know what I want more, updates to old Skaven kits for some clans (looking at you Eshin and Moulder) or an entirely new, Sigmar-ified Skaven clan...Sounds like we aren't getting a big splash release before the end of the year though anyway...
  2. I like the colour scheme on your Orruk there, what were you using for the armour?
  3. I'm thinking of getting the expansion set at some point, I would like 2 groups of Judicators backing up the Liberators. Aside from that, maybe a Celestant Prime and I'd be pretty content with my Stormcast...although, that Stardrake tho... Thanks! It will be nice when I get the Khorne side painted up too, feels good to have a nice consistent boxed set done though
  4. How did I miss them??!! Lol. Yeah the massive black overspray there is from when I based my Necrons, inside, during the winter...Not ideal. Now that I actually, understand how to spray paint, it's not a problem lol.
  5. Hey thanks! Gotta love the Coheed!
  6. Yeah, this is about the most adventurous basing I've ever done! So I've got the astrogranite down, going to shade and drybrush, then maybe some tufts of grass or something. I wish I knew where GW got all those little skulls they put on everyone's base lol. Thanks for the suggestions
  7. Thanks! I posted the Stormcasts and should be starting on Khorne next week
  8. These are my AOS starter Stormcasts plus a little extra. A few still need a bit of work, but they are done enough to post!
  9. Update time! Today is a double whammy. Intro post as well as some actual content! So here are my Stormcast Eternals. they aren't much but they are mine. I painted them in a very typical paint scheme, never having used metallic gold before I thought it would be a good opportunity to mess around with some new colours. I learned a lot from working on these models. It gave me a chance to practice edge highlighting in a way that was pretty forgiving. I also got to expand my colour selection and work on building bright colours up from dark ones. I still have to finish their basing (shade and dry brush), the prosecutors still need some gold highlights and Ionous needs about an hour or two of work, but they are done enough to post. I have two more figures at the moment base coated that I will get to eventually, I also have the Bloodborn side of the starter box to work on, and my special new project... - Goodapollo4
  10. For my first blog post, I thought I would briefly run through the circuitous route I took that led me to AOS. When I was a kid, I bought a few 40k models with a friend of mine. Not having much money, I dabbled here and there, bought some Orks, a few Tyranids, some Dark Eldar, but I never could get into 40k as a game system (it was 3rd edition, I was like 10, gimmie a break). I always had a passing interest in 40k, I played DOW and DOW2 when they came out, loved the lore behind 40k, but again, couldn't afford the hobby. In university a friend of mine and I got into 40k for a year or so. I bought the Ork side of AOBR, he bought some Space Wolves, and we fumbled our way through 6th edition for a summer, it was pretty fun.Throughout all this time, I was aware of WHFB, but never really got into it. I thought that the Skaven were super cool, and some of the demons were pretty neat, but I was much more attracted to the far future than the distant past. Fast forward to 2015. New job, my 40k senses are tingling, I decide to launch myself into the hobby at full speed, buying up some Tau mechs and paints. I spent about 6 months immersing myself in 40k, listening to podcasts, reading news sites, youtube, the works. But I kept stumbling over the rules, comparing tables against tables, and the amount of things to remember each round was daunting to say the least. Never the less I collected some Necrons (they were the new hotness), and some good old Orks. Despite loving the hobby aspect of 40k, the rules felt prohibitive. Which is where I started becoming interested in Age of Sigmar. The concise rule set and easy to learn difficult to master style of gameplay seemed right up my alley. And the "bring what you want" style of list building felt more approachable than 40k's seemingly mandatory minimum points system. So here we are, I've been in the hobby for probably about 8 months now, I've switched systems, I'm super excited about AOS, and I hope to be getting a game or two in relatively soon. - Goodapollo4
