  1. Honestly pretty similar for the new stuff. The unfortunate thing is that they didn’t change any of the costs on the older stuff which remains too good for its points for the most part cows and cowboys aside of course. The LRL players have already decided for the most part, particularly on other forums, that most of the new stuff would need to go down in points to be worth it over spamming archers and spearmen with teclis and a cathalar.
  2. Can anyone PM me the point cost of the hurakan battalion? Trying to build lists and I can’t remember the cost on that one.
  3. So the loreseeker is unique. Probably meant to represent that they operate as lone agents. Just worth considering before people freak out and buy 2-4 of them. Edit-it’s on the points page not his warscroll. Warscrolls don’t list unique since it isn’t a trait/keyword
  4. Isn’t the lore seeker unique though and thus unable to take artifacts?
  5. and 2 wounds not 3 which I think people had speculated
  6. I just hope that we get changed this year rather than having to wait for GHB 2022. GW have been really averse to changing much of anything in AOS recently despite the documented balance issues with certain armies like tzeentch and seraphon
  7. I agree on the ballistas. They are fine. Sentinels need to go up like 30-40 points and probably will EDIT-not this book but in next year's GHB
  8. But no one plays the Cowboys they just spam stupid Spartan cosplayers and 4th edition monopose high elf archers off of eBay
  9. I was hoping the spears, archers, and cathalar would go up and Moos would go down
  10. Are we sure that the old stuff stayed the same points as the last book? I have not read anywhere that it did for sure.
  11. I think wind runners are only an A if you run them in the subfaction for extra attacks in melee. They are only 12in range -1 rend shooting. In melee they get -2 rend
  12. the regular Vanari regent guy (and lyrior too) both have to successfully cast a 7+ spell to buff other units whereas an LoP can buff with a CA and a shard speaker can debuff just by being within 9 on 3+ They also only have 6 wounds (same as LoP) with no DPA unlike an LoP In general the lumineth have very few things to spend CAs on. I don't think any of the new units have command abilities at all and they hardly ever use CA for bravery because of Cathalars.
  13. just read through everything. The kangaroos seem very good but it odd that their rules combine to make them better in melee than shooting (not that I am complaining, if they were just mobile archers the spirit of the wind/sevireth would outclass them probably) The calligrave will be nice if blade of leaping gold is still in with D3 damage on his blade
  14. To me it seems the new lumineth stuff is approximately in line with the new Slaanesh stuff just that they didn't change the points on the old stuff (which was already very good) unlike with Slaanesh where the old stuff went up (when it was just average). It is really a bummer as it means lumineth armies are unlikely to use any of the new stuff with a couple of exceptions until points change. For example the kangaroos may have better melee than bliss barb seekers but are not as good as slickblades in melee and they are considerably worse at shooting than bliss barbs (12in range only for example). At 150 they are fine but only really shine in the subfaction that makes them BL and gives them +1A in melee.
  15. I like all the people who complain about lumineth who run eels or teleporting snakes Morathi DoK or changehost. Then again I have had tzeentch players complain about sylvaneth to me in IRL...
  16. well that saves me money... Hope the points change in next years GHB
  17. I unfortunately think the best list will still be spamming archers and spearmen with the possible addition of seviroth as a replacement for teclis
  18. I actually think pain bringers are fine unless you face nothing but super heavy, and more importantly, super abundant units with shooting. By this I mean more something like KO or LRL star archers rather than change host or OBR catapults. With the speed of other units and the fact that we have access to our own shooting I think you can minimize the impact of good but not numerous shooting. Where I think Slaanesh in general and in particular the pain bringers with their melee tankiness get into trouble is when faced by a large number of shooting units that can output either high rend or mortals like KO or LRL. I have a list with 3 pain bringer units in nobles of excess to reduce drops with gluttos for the -1 to hit and battleshock immunity that I have been meaning to try once the damn nurgle plague ends and the lockdown lifts.
  19. Anything leaked yet about battleline/conditional battleline. I really hate the lumineth spearmen and don't like the archers much either You can PM me
  20. The big issue with the warcry war bands is more that marauders are hands down the best unit in S2D with the possible exception of archaon (who is better in tzeentch, khorne, and slaanesh). Untamed beasts, Corvus cabal, and especially iron golems all get played in my experience so that is a decent chunk of them that work alright. what I would be more worried about than underpowered rules for stuff like the kosargi are rules that get dropped after a little while from matched play like the rules with the tzeentch themed warhammer quest.
  21. Can someone create a separate thread to complain about the existence of LRL? No one is actually discussing much else here and I think at least one mod has already issued a warning about it.
  22. Unfortunately there really isn't a consensus list other than that slick blades and gluttos are good. EDIT If your friend got into AOS from MOBA or other games that have characters/classes maybe he could try to explain that his army is like a low tier character and see if people would be willing to tone down lists.
  23. Actually overmatch and fleeing would perhaps explain the relatively high point cost of shooting units in the Slaanesh book. The general consensus is that it was written for 3.0, whereas DOK was not as DOK was planned for a much earlier release, but was held up by covid and Brexit. I suppose we will know if the lumineth shooting units go up in points.
  24. rumor has it AOS 3 will have stand and shoot like old fantasy. If this is true it may be reflected in the point cost of our archers. I guess we will know if the lumineth archers go up in points when their new book comes out.
