  1. I don't know if its just me but, I don't understand how this from the community site has made lots of people think we're getting new Grand Alliance books. 2019 will see new battletomes for every Grand Alliance! To me it sounds like Order, Death, Destruction & Chaos will all have at least one faction that either updates an old battletomb or a has brand new one. No part of this says that there will be new Grand Alliance books

AoS 2 - Idoneth Deepkin Discussion

Thank you. I plan on running at least 9 eels + Volturnos so the storm sounds like a better fit for me. I don't have malign sorcery (yet). What artifact would you put on the storm from the battletomb?

Fair enough I hadn't done the maths just looked at the profiles. In your opinion do the buffs the sea provides out weigh this given the sea is 40pts more?

AoS 2 - Idoneth Deepkin Discussion

Thank you. I must of read all of the Deepkin ones at least 5 times, before I asked. Didn't want to ask a stupid question. Lol! The part I keep puzzling over is whether to build an aspect of the storm or the sea. I really can't decide. Can someone please tell me what are the best points of either. I plan on running Volturnos and some eels. So the Storm would be good with the extra attacks. However is missing out on the sea who looks not much worse in combat with its healing spell and casting 2 spells too good to give up?

AoS 2 - Idoneth Deepkin Discussion

I've just jumped in with the deepkin. The Christmas battleforce pushed me over the edge. In addition to the battleforce. I've also picked up 3 more eels. 1x Leviadon. 1x Elidolon. Volturnos / king. 1x Soulscryer 1 x shipwreck. All models I love. Please can someone help me with advice. Given what I have, would you build sea or storm? And King or Volturnos? How should I build my eels 3 of each or 6 of one? I will add more in time but want to paint what I have first have a few games then add more units or expand units as required. Thanks

AoS 2 - Stormcast Eternals Discussion

The more I think of it. The more I think option 1 is a waste. Will I ever need 3 Incantors? Probably not. If I go option 3 I can keep the spare SW Prime as a spare to use as 2 units of 5 instead of one unit of 10. Converting it using the spare parts from the multipart kit may be an idea. The flame hand could look cool on it

I've managed to get 2 lots of 3 Evocators from soul wars & a multipart kit. So if you were me what would you do. 1) Keep the 3 Soul wars models as is & use the box to make 2 grandstave models to boost each unit to 5 models & use the spare to build an incantor 2) As per option 1 but instead don't build the incantor. Build a new prime instead from the box set to make the units look more unique ( meaning I don't use one of the soul wars primes) 3) Combine all the models to make 1 unit of 10. Drop one soul wars prime & build the multipart kit with 5 regular models all with Grandstaves

Painted Shadespire Warbands - Please post

Here's my first 2 warbands. My Stormcast army are the Hammers of Sigmar. So I kept to the standard scheme for them

Knight of Shrouds vs. Wight King

I agree Yeled. Sometimes GW seems to get it spot on. Such as Kharadron Overlords, Tzeentch deamon & arcanites releases. But the Beast of Nurgle is rough, considering how many you may need. If they'd been £18-£20 they'd of been in line with most recent elite cavalry etc. The problem with this stable pricing system is that it doesn't enable them to change prices when they get it wrong. Such as the Dark Angels release back in 2012? ish. They were stuck at higher prices than most Marines (released before & after) for years. The odd correction has to be dressed up another way, aka start collecting fyreslayers.

Knight of Shrouds vs. Wight King

I had hoped they would be £15 each. But I can see why they wanted to price them all the same. With 1 of them being a Stormcast £20 was always likely as Stormcast Characters are always slightly more. The way I see it is this. When GW first started the plastic characters they put them at £8-£10 each. At some point they tried them at higher prices & they sold just as well. So £15 -£22 became the norm. You will also note that GW haven't increased prices on any existing kit since around 2011 or at latest 2012. Had they increased prices by the typical rate of inflation (3%) a kit that costs £10 should now cost £12.30 approx. This would effect expensive large kits more than the lower priced ones. As this is percentages. For example Nagash should now be around £73 using this system. An increase of £8. A Mortis Engine would of increased by around £6 I'm fine with GW pricing new kits higher than old ones. This in turn has ment they choose not to increase the price of old kits & in some cases improved the value by launching start collecting sets etc. I started my Death army before Christmas & have bought 2 x blade of the blood queen. 1 x start collecting maligments 1 x start collecting flesh eater courts, Nagash, Cain Wraith, Necromancer & banshee. All of these minis would of cost far more had GW factored inflation into their pricing. In truth these bundles mean that they are cheaper now than they've ever been. So a few pounds more on one new model. Really doesn't really seem too bad to me.

    Double Cabbage

This thread is very inspiring. I love big models that smash stuff! Can I ask, what is the best choice of weapons for the Megaboss on Maw Krusha? I think the Boss Gore-hacka looks best aesthetically. However is there good reasons to use the choppa set up? It looks to me the rend on the rip tooth fist seems too good to miss out on. But it just doesn't look as cool to me. I really want to have Godrakk as my second Maw Krusha as I'm not fond of exactly repeating big models. but it seems he's a lot of points for what he offers. Would you build the second Krusha the same way as the first?

    Death Spirit Hosts

I've always wanted to so I've started a Death Army. Its not focused & may well end up being a bit of everything that I fancy painting. I wanted to start quickly & there's nothing quicker than Spirits Hosts. Next up are Skeletons, then it'll be Arkan or Nagash as they combine the spirit host & skeletons paint schemes. I wanted the bases to look like wet mud. Hence the glossy finish to the bases.
