  1. I predict they're going to announce the Adepticon reveals since the event was cancelled
  2. Yes. Stormcast lack the bodies to fight over objectives with body count, and are too fragile to play a long attrition game. We can build for strong defensive units like a 1+ Stardrake but that's an expensive combo, and few Stormcast units do any meaningful damage so we can't afford to be spending 700 points on an unkillable monster that does little damage. The best strategy is to swiftly and decisively wipe units out so that you take as little damage as possible as you get on objectives.
  3. Channeling does let them reroll saves, though? Yes a screen is a unit taking up space between your important units and the enemy. The purpose of a screen is to be either so tough it can repel enemy attacks or be a cheap throwaway unit that is meant to die and hold people up for one turn. Libs and Seqs are not durable enough to stop any serious amount of damage. It doesn't matter if it's 20 damage overkill or 30 damage overkill, the unit still dies either way, so spending points to improve their damage doesn't make sense.
  4. It depends on your list? Coalesced lists will probably still run a Starseer, a Starpriest, and/or Kroak so +1 to cast is pretty good. 6+ ignore is pretty good, too. Probably worth 140 points and a leader slot... I think if he was 100-120 he would be a no-brainer.
  5. I love the models but I would never use them unless they cost exactly as much as Liberators. Maybe if they were 10 points more and didnt require an Arcanum to be battleline... but I would probably just take an Endless Spell instead. The purpose of Liberators and Sequitors is to screen, and spending more points without gaining more bodies or wounds just doesn't make sense for a screening unit.
  6. If they didn't limit the Anvils command ability then the only stormcast list would be 12 raptors and command point generation, shooting everything off the table in the first round with 6 command points.
  7. Lord-Arcanum has a very interesting command ability to move an endless spell an extra D6" (until the end of the round not the turn, and it stacks!) but we never had enough command points to make it worthwhile. But with Slann/Kroak generating command points and more reliably casting Endless Spells? Hmm...
  8. Clubs for units of 10 Spears for >20 definitely I dont see a reason to run Saurus in units other than min or max
  9. Any of the Seraphon models that generate command points (Slann, Kroak, Starpriest, Starseer) seem pretty useful... or they would be, if we had any command abilities worth spamming. I actually like the idea of bring a Slann. For 260 you get a 3 spell wizard with +1 to cast/unbind/dispel, global unbind/dispel, 0-2 command points per turn, and a global damage spell. He can't cast the Everblaze Comet, but he can more reliably put out other key endless spells like Geminids, and he is great for Realm Spells. Maybe slot him into a list with a Stardrake? Stardrake offers another +1 to cast and -1 to enemy wizards to allow for easier unbinding. Comet's Call has good synergy with the Stardrakes Rain of Stars, starting to deal significant damage to specific enemy units anywhere on the table. Adding a Starpriest for vassal casting seems pretty good to keep our Slann safe. Alternatively, 5 Saurus Guard for ablative wounds and some more bodies. Toss in some Endless Spells and Dracolines/Dracoths to round out the list... Definitely starting to see some potential here. Is there even a Stormcast allegiance army with a Stardrake worth running? Staunch Defender seems like the only thing worth taking, but we could make this GA:Order and toss in a bunch of Salamanders to back up the Dracoths.
  10. What happens if a Wizard in a garrison casts Balewind Vortex? Can a model on the Vortex enter a garrison even though it can't move?
  11. It's in the FAQ/errata. You can find them on the Warhammer community website
  12. Maturin and Marcvs are correct, Hurricanes don't get bonus shots in the hero phase and you can't use the Anvils CA on the same unit twice in one turn
  13. I believe that each Slann or Oracle can sacrifice a spell for d3 summoning points, so you can keep bringing more Troglodons and gain more summoning points each round. It's not very cost effective since you pay 260p for each one, but in a 2000pt game you could potentially bring 6 Slann/Troglodon and an Astrolith Bearer and gain 8d3 summoning points per turn.
  14. If I have an ability that does mortal wounds during an attack roll before saves, do the mortal wounds get allocated immediately, or are they added to the pool of damage to be allocated after save rolls are made and we go into the normal damage allocation phase? Lets say I shoot with Jezzails against 10 Dryads, and I roll a 6 to hit to deal 2 mortal wounds. Will this remove 2 dryads immediately and thus remove their +1 save bonus from their Impenetrable Thicket ability? Or do they keep the save bonus until the hit/wound rolls are resolved and then allocate the mortal wounds along with the normal wounds after making save rolls?
  15. Maybe? Their primary limitation is only having a 12" range and without Seraphon allegiance they're not going to shoot on the first turn. I could see them raising the point cost of Salamanders to 100, but that could also just be a knee ****** reaction to first impressions.
  16. Thunderquake gives you +1 attack in melee, which is insane on Stegadons, Kroxigors, and Salamanders. While not spectacular on a Bastiladon, you'll see them included just to fill out the battalion instead of bringing a 2nd Stegadon. Bastiladons damage isn't very impressive but sometimes you just need a big meaty wall unit - that 1+ save is no joke, especially in Thunder Lizard for +2 wounds and scaly skin. We should all remember how ridiculous the 2+reroll Bastiladon was, and if you give him Mystic Shield (or spend a command point) he's basically at that point again against rend0 and rend-1 units. If you're fighting Rend-2 units you can give him the Starstone Staff or Control Fate for another +1 save and stay at 2+rr. We can also take an Astrolith Bearer to have a minimal defense against mortal wounds. Spending one command point to double tap isn't bad at all, especially given how many CP most lists will passively generate every turn between Slann, Kroak, Starseer, and a Starpriests. Finally, keep in mind the cost was reduced to the point where it is one of our cheapest monsters. I think you'll see a Bastiladon in almost every Thunder Lizard list and it'll pop up in lists that need a wall in front of their fragile hunting packs.
  17. I think 5x Salamanders is maybe the best use of 400 points in any stormcast list.
  18. I'm loving the new Seraphon battletome so far, but like every new battletome it reminds me of the sad state of the outdated Stormcast book
  19. Is there any way to boost wound rolls for our non-Saurus units?
  20. I believe the Skink Priests Star-stone Staff only effects SKINK units
  21. The problem with Saurus is still that they have 1" weapons on >1" bases. It's very difficult to get more than 5 Knights into combat, and almost impossible to get 10+ into combat at the same time. Warriors can use 2" Spears, but that means you lose a point of Rend. They also can't compete with any unit that fights first, or forces them to fight last. They're going to be really good but not overbearing by any means. You won't be able to spam Saurus to win - you need to bring in some magic and ranged to support them.
  22. Kroxigors are pretty dang good now, especially with +1 attack from Thunderquake Templehost We still can't mess with combat order so it'll be an uphill battle to deal with armies that can
  23. Losers: Chameleon Skinks, summoning, EOTG, Ripperdactyls Changed but roughly break even: EOTG Winners: Everything else This army looks fantastic and that's before we see the allegiance/battalions/spells/etc. Can't wait to see the full spoiler tomorrow when reviews go up.
  24. Starpriests generate CP on 5+ Starseers generate CP on 4+ Oracle on Troglodon is a wizard and has Comets Call Skink Chief on Stegadon is a warscroll and has a command ability to give a SKINK unit +1 attack in combat (this is gonna be insane on terradons and ripperdactyls) Thunder Lizards has a command ability to let you shoot again with a bastiladon or use a cosmic engine twice with EOTG I'm really really liking the look of Seraphon 2.0 so far!
